Draymond Green on Jordan Poole: "I'm not sure he's going back to the second unit... That isn't an easy decision to make... Just because Steph comes back doesn't mean you completely take the ball out of Jordan's hands."
Steve will have some hard decisions to make, because who are you benching? If he's on a mins restriction, then Steph will come off the bench in the beginning, but eventually he won't. You take out Wiggs, who mostly guards the best perimeter player? Steve seems tied back to Loon & Dray to start for defense and rebounds. Looking at who their first round match up will most likely be, they probably could get away with it, though it kills the spacing.
JP has done an amazing job and I wouldn't be surprised if he did start or was the first off the bench. He's going to play a bunch of minutes anyway. Just interested to see how Steve works around it now that everyone would be back.
Also, in regards to his comment on taking the ball out of JP's hand when Steph comes back: With them plus Draymond, I think it should be Dray's on ball usage that goes down. Defenses will tighten up and they'll be playing Dray for the pass. I'm also looking forward to seeing at least some Pick n Pops between the offensive threats (Steph, JP, Klay, Wiggs, Otto) in the playoffs. I'd add JK to that, especially on the roll in the limited mins he gets.
A fine win, much good to see here.
But, my favorite stat(s): Poole going 11 for 11 from the free throw line while stumbling through 1 for 11 from 3 point land. Synchronicity? The magic of 11? Poole goes to 11? It’s always a bit sad when bombers go cold but not letting that disrupt his gimme action on FT’s shows a level of pro confidence that I might not have predicted at the start of the season.
Awesome!
Just finished the recording, and I rank this as one of the best wins of the year.
Without Curry and no-longer-forcing-it Klay, the team fought through a game against a motivated opponent when their heir apparent couldn't throw it in the ocean despite taking only excellent looks.
Playoff-quality stuff across the lineup, I thought Poole's decision making was superb and some days the shot just doesn't fall.
Andre looks 32 again.
I would not bet against this team in any round of the playoffs.
Just here to celebrate a bit late. I don't really care about seeding at this point; just stay healthy and bring back Steph. It's been a great regular season under adverse circumstances. I think they've done well. :-)
Don't look now, but the Warriors are now tied for both the longest current winning streak in the western conference and second longest in the NBA!
Let's call that momentum!
Season TS% before >> after tonight
Kuminga .589 >> .595
Poole .602 >> .598
Everyone is still healthy after this one, that's a W. The result doesn't matter to me, neither today nor tomorrow. Just get to the playoffs. If that were an option, I'd literally just let our G-League squad play New Orleans tomorrow.
In the postgame thread in r/NBA:
-Warriors fans: Yay, we still have the #3 seed!
-Mavericks fans: Dammit, Spurs!
-Spurs fans: We lost, but our B-squad looked good.
-Pelicans fans: Thank you, Warriors!
JP3 deserves the prize and consideration because of how smart and hard working he is. Unfortunately on the pure stats point of view, he comes from too good a season last year. If there was a two-year lapse MIP he'd have it in his pockets.

Congratulations to Kevon Looney for playing in all 82 games for the first time in his career (barring an illness or freak accident).
Kerr is a pretty damn coach but he has this attachment to playing veterans only and not tolerating rookie mistakes and missing out for a month on Kuminga development; Kerr's coaching conservatism is like this thing stuck to his arm, sort of like an armband type of deal, that he's trying to shake off but it's stuck to him; and I wish he could just fling it off because good things happen in life when you do that. EDIT: Am I the only one who just noticed that I wrote "pretty damn coach?"
