OK I have NEVER seen that little effort from a player. With exactly a minute to go, LeBron brings the ball up court in a careful possession, eyeing the clock, and his teammate DeAngelo Russell ,on the weakside wing, that's right ...practices his three point shooting form without the ball. Little jump, aiming for the basket, like it's a time out. Just disinterested in the play, knowing he absolutely, unequivocally, 1000% isn't getting the ball.

Then he wanders slowly back on defense and isn't interested in doing anything, so he stands around. The Lakers get scored on. They inbound to LeBron who again comes down steadily. Russell this time pauses with 30 seconds left ... to tie his shoe. Good work, gotta be careful.

Then SUDDENLY! he races out of this stupor (faked?) to sit a pick for LeBron!! Alas, it arrives wayyyy too late because LeBron is already driving the other way from the pick. Monumental disinterest from Russell as LeBron misses, the Clippers come down again and D'Lo picks up ... no one. Time out is called, he doesn't play after that. Note: this is the guy we traded for Wiggins and Kuminga.

PS Russell actually had a decent scoring game and some threes late, but that was a travesty of zero effortness late

Hilarious. Man knows what’s up playing with LeBron lol.

In other news, it makes me feel both angry and comforted to see the Clippers collapse like that. Why collapse to the lakers!??

All this b****ing about this or that player not getting enough minutes is silly and boring. The Warriors have the luxury of a roster with 15 guys who are playable. Most teams have 1 or 2 guys that never sniff the floor outside of garbage time. I'm amazed that Kerr manages to get minutes for as many players as he has.

The Dubs are so deep that I would take their 2nd 5 (CP3, Klay, Saric', GP2, Looney/TJD.) over the Wizards starters...maybe the Pistons' too. Probably 1 or 2 more bottom feeders, but I"m not that familiar with the rest of the league.

Not sure if anyone covered this, but listening to Kerr on the radio show, he said 2 different times "we hope to get Wiggins back". The hosts pointed out that he didn't say "back soon", just "back". It seemed very intentional how Steve put it. Hope I'm just over-reading this and it isn't that serious.

It’s PTSD from last season - he used the same words then!

My main (unsubstantiated) concern is if the medical issue with his dad that kept him out last year has recurred/gotten worse. I’m really just hoping that he and his family are healthy.

That said, I have major respect for the warriors for giving Wiggins the space to take care of his family. So often the stories that get celebrated in sports are of the playing-through-tragedy variety (IT playing in the playoffs the day after his sister’s death, etc) instead of “life is bigger than sports”

Teams choking leads left and right. Can’t do it like us though. We’re the undisputed best.

Lol. Though to be fair, James Harden is very good at this choking business.

Lakers winning not the worse, I'd like to avoid them in a 9th/10th worse case scenario.

Expand full comment

We’re not aiming for 9/10 though

Expand full comment

Tbh, best case scenario is 7th seed atm. I'd prefer to avoid the Wolves (their two bigs lineup is dangerous for us) and the Nuggets. Going against the inexperienced Thunder is definitely my preference as I think Wiggins/GP2 can do a good job against Shae.

Well yeah that's why I said worse case scenario we'll remain 9/10 with the Lakers also there. Best case we'll get to 5th or 6th, 7th/8th I'd still like to avoid the Lakers maybe they can climb to 6th and face denver first round.

Lakers beat the Clippers 116-112. Lakers are now 3-1 against the Clippers this season.

Down 2 with a chance to win the game, and you go for the fadeaway mid range... seems an odd strategy

They seemed shook during that run. Turning it over a bunch and not getting good shots off
