Someone posted this Spurs game highlights a few days ago. This is where Curry dropped 37 in win 72. Notice at 3:06 the Spurs announcer channels E Apricot with: "Put it this way. Coach is never gonna yell at you if you stay with this guy (Curry)."
Yup. Anyone who think that Lacob the businessmen wants the added game for the revenue so much that he'd prefer a game 4 loss don't understand venture capitalists.
Game 1 is also another home game. But really... it'd be incredibly short sighted, imo, to think the additional $ from Game 5 would be worth a lesser chance (ie. risking injury, fatigue, more Draymond techs) at a championship, which itself would mean a lot of residual $$$
Weird to be bringing this up now, but I keeping thinking how this team could be even deeper with more arrows in the quiver had Wiseman had two summer leagues, training camps, not got gotten Covid, not hurt his elbow and not hurt his knee and had gobs more g-league and NBA minutes. After two full normal seasons of development, it seems he’d be at least “useful” at this point.
Thank Zeus Looney keeps getting better and better, but just imagine.
That's not necessarily bad though. Looney has played way more minutes in recent games than he has for most of the season, and it's exhausting. He has pulled it off very well but an effective Wiseman could give Dray and Loon more rest and keep them fresher without us losing size up front. Maybe Draymond would play more PF, and it might free him to be more of a free safety on D if he had a effective Wiseman protecting the paint. Bjelica falls completely out of the rotation except if there's garbage time. I'd be delighted to have this "problem."
Oh I think about this quite often. Even on the cusp of another finals appearance the Warriors have one potential generational talent who hasn't suited up all season and another high ceiling youngster who has barely cracked the rotation this postseason.
I'm imagining less what these playoffs could look had Wiseman been on schedule and more so what the future can still conceivable bring.
Agreed. And I think we will need it next year. If various things go right for the following teams, they could all be very very good to great next season: Memphis, Denver, Clippers, Minnesota, Dallas, Phoenix, even New Orleans looked scary at the end, and if Zion makes it back ...

If you isolate just Wiggins and the circle of the rim in that image, and color the rim gold, that's something I want on a shirt if they win the championship.

I would like to take a moment to recognize Myers and the FO for recognizing that signing an extra big was completely unnecessary and focusing on the wing depth necessary to survive multiple injuries in these playoffs.
Aside from the fact that Draymond has been far and away the best playoff center over the past decade, and Looney was a key part of putting away a much tougher Rockets team than any WCF candidate this year:
Of the two MVP candidate Centers: Embiid is a 3 game player that just can’t seem to get through a 7 game series, and Jokic is on a team with zero perimeter defenders even when fully healthy.
Kudos to Myers for doing a great job with this roster and giving the team what it needs for a shot at this year’s title!
The big man would have been for the regular season and as an option to throw against a guy like Cousins in the first round, not for the real playoffs. Looney and Draymond were always going to be the guys when the real playoffs started.
Looney played all 82 games even when Draymond missed like half of the season and hasn't missed a playoff game so far which is pretty incredible. I think that development was a product of good fortune to a large extent, but it has certainly allowed their roster to hold together so far. Hopefully that remains true and they can make it to the end of the season, whenever that is.
Also, I think they'd be absolutely out of their minds to go into next season without another center.
My god. High school kid walks into the grade school he went to and shoots a bunch of little kids and a teacher?? Even by American standards, this is a tough one to swallow. Especially on top of the fact that the funerals aren't over yet for the white pride shooter in Buffalo.
Just hella sad right now. Sad at how bad it sucks, and sad at how many people don't think we should do anything about it.
and let’s get our society back on a track where we treat each other with respect and learn to value all human life. We can’t accept this as unavoidable.
“We can’t be thinking about anything other than tonight’s game… We have to be locked in and focused just like we were in Game 3 when we got off to a good start.”

It's not how he wears it. Its the shape of his face. The distance from back of ear (support point of mask) to chin is less than back of ear to nose. So as he moves, it slides down, releasing tension on strings.

Crazy factoid: the last time a Western Conference team NOT from CA or TX won the NBA Finals was 1979, when the Seattle Supersonics won it all. Only four [EDIT: five] Western Conference teams have won the finals since 1979; Lakers, Warriors, Spurs, and Mavericks [EDIT] as noted below, I forgot the Rockets!
Greetings from the BATT (Big Ass Train Trip)! After 4 days/nights in Memphis (what an incredible place to visit!), we took an overnight train to Chicago and arrived this morning. Had a few hours to walk around Chi-town for a bit and now are riding on the Empire Builder, a 3-day/2-night train to Portland that goes through IL, WI, MN, ND, MT, ID, WA and end in Oregon. We’re breaking it up with stops in Minneapolis for one night and Whitefish/Glacier National Park for three nights.
Streaming the game is looking doubtful, but we’re hoping for at least enough reception to watch play-by-play updates on NBA’s site. Go Dubs! 🧹
No OPJ tonight is huge. He's been great when it comes to buying valuable rest minutes for our big dogs. JTA or even worse Lee replacing him for a whole game will be noticeable. Let's hope they have the game of their life
That seems to be the bulk of what JTA and Lee do while on the floor - just running around, passing the ball as quickly as they have it, and rarely taking a shot even when the opportunity is right there staring at them.
Was looking at our playoff history to see how many teams we've swept during the Steph era and the Blazers are the lucky leaders because they've seen the broom twice. We're 12-1 against them in the playoffs. Jazz, Pelicans and Cleveland are the other teams. Hopefully Dallas joins them tonight.

Please dont play jta over kuminga, just please.
It's some acie law over curry shit
Lacob might want another home game revenue.
Lacob might consider it a silver lining if we lose. Other than that… no.
Very tired of this trope... Lacob wants wins, end of story.

Besides the players and coaches would never give less than their best in a playoff game. They just don't roll that way, nor should they.

There's only one Wiseman
Are there not three?
Ah, once upon a time there were indeed three. Two retired, and the third is likely to after the playoffs. Those were good ol' days though.
Which is precisely why he will be training over the next 2-3 years to get to the point where Wiseman minutes > = Looney minutes.
Oh I think about this quite often. Even on the cusp of another finals appearance the Warriors have one potential generational talent who hasn't suited up all season and another high ceiling youngster who has barely cracked the rotation this postseason.

Exactly! There is still a reserve of ascendancy to mitigate whatever diminishment occurs among the core.
Agreed. And I think we will need it next year. If various things go right for the following teams, they could all be very very good to great next season: Memphis, Denver, Clippers, Minnesota, Dallas, Phoenix, even New Orleans looked scary at the end, and if Zion makes it back ...

I think one of my offseason tasks is going to be cleaning some of these up and voting on some shirt designs
They’ll definitely have his dunk on a banner outside Chase next season

And Robin Lopez still has no rings!

Does Wiseman count, or are we looking at him as a wasted roster spot again next year?
Not a wasted roster spot. He's going to be healthy and showing off that length and athleticism next year. You heard it hear first.
Wiseman coming back by next season?
>>>signing an extra big was completely unnecessary and focusing on the wing depth necessary to survive multiple injuries in these playoffs.
I mean, that's what we've all been saying all season long. Right? Right???
Myers is a peach!
Yeah, but he can't turn left.
He knows how to, but it's been a while, and he's a little fuzzy.
Sweet lemons at least! Fine I’ll fix it :)
I maaaay have made the game thread image too large, but I'm still giddy off that Wiggins dunk.
Nope definitely not too large! Didn’t even fill my screen.
lol it's the next one.... you're all going to have to scroll
Me too!
14-15 people, mostly children, dead in a mass shooting at a Texas elementary school a few hours from Dallas. I suppose we’ll get a moment of silence tonight, a week of useless “thoughts and prayers,” a poignant statement from Kerr and, in a week or two, a Supreme Court opinion that will exacerbate the problem. So tired of this shit. https://www.dallasnews.com/news/crime/2022/05/24/uvalde-school-district-west-of-san-antonio-on-lockdown-after-active-shooter-report/?outputType=amp
My worst take: I thought Sandy Hook would turn the tide on action.
The lack of action after Sandy Hook made it clear that there will never be any action, no matter how horrifying the event.
Sadly, about 2 decades earlier, that's what a lot of us thought about Columbine.
As a teacher and with a kid about to enter Kindergarten in the fall, I just want to cry.
We’re all with you on those feelings.

> sad at how many people don't think we should do anything about it.
I don't think public opinion is what is holding that back from happening.
They don't have empathy, and they subconsciously want to be the heroes amid chaos.
Yes we all have to have empathy for one another!
and let’s get our society back on a track where we treat each other with respect and learn to value all human life. We can’t accept this as unavoidable.
***sigh***

I’m locked in…but a little freaked out because I can’t remember the safe word.
It's Valkyrie
What they aren't showing is Draymond behind him holding a beer.
It's not how he wears it. Its the shape of his face. The distance from back of ear (support point of mask) to chin is less than back of ear to nose. So as he moves, it slides down, releasing tension on strings.

Wait, aren't we leaving out the Hakeem Rockets? Five WC teams.
Lakers (boooo) and Spurs account for 16 (11 and 5, respectively) of those 22 Western Conference champions.

It might be a good chance for Kuminga to get a few minutes too.
Such a luxury to be able to talk about a WCF finals game like a pre-season game haha. What a great time to be a Warriors fan.
Lee will probably be running around like the Dubs we’re the ones down 3-0
That seems to be the bulk of what JTA and Lee do while on the floor - just running around, passing the ball as quickly as they have it, and rarely taking a shot even when the opportunity is right there staring at them.
Predictions:
1. Wiggins shows Luka the dunk tattoo he got on the off day.
2. Draymond wears a Bluetooth onto the court and does an in-game podcast.
3. Steph and Poole Rochambeau to see who takes the first technical foul shot.
4. Moody goes for 17.
5. Wiggins Island grows so large, they just rename it Australia.
Edit: Oh, by the way, we lose.
Edit: the warriors bring out the broom to make sure Wiggins Island keeps its pristine environment, and to end the series!

The pantheon of dust bunnies
They swept the Spurs in 2017 as well.

Yeah, this format was kind of weird I knew I'd misread one of them
Warriors are on a 16-3 streak, going back to the regular season. Their best stretch at any time during the regular season was going 18-2 to start out.
If they only drop one more game the rest of the playoffs then they'll end things off going 21-4, which is the same record they had after 25 games.
I'd say that would be a nice way to bookend the season. They might as well do it. For symmetry's sake.
In between those two stretches? Yeah, they went 27-25. But hey, starting things off well and finishing things off well is good, right?
More than good it’s an NBA tradition
I think they should just rest Porter tonight even if he is able to play just to avoid any risk of him getting injured again.
