I stripped out all the styles and javascript from Chad Ford's draft preview, turned it into XML so I could run transforms on it and Apricot has it mostly covered, for potential selections but there are a couple of names nobody has brought up yet though they seem unlikely choices. Ford isn't nearly as high on Moody as other evaluators. Basically I eliminate all the players the Warriors have no chance at as well as the players they probably wouldn't waste a draft pick on because their "low" value is greater than 14.

I'm mystified why it takes so many styles and so much javascript to produce a really unattractive web page, but I guess that's the way of the world now.

After catching up on all the Mock Draft reviews and associated videos, I now have a deeper understanding of who I don't know we should be drafting 😊

Barnes: obvious comparisons to Dray... we have our own mini-Dray in JTA already so not sure how it would work in the near-term

Moody: length and defense reminds me of Oubre... offensively, much different: swapped out athleticism for a smooth looking jump shot (even if the %s don't pop out) and maybe better vision?

Duarte: feels like the most obvious plug-n-play upgrade for us; easily could replace Mulder... more tools than DLee offensively... seems like a good defender

Sengun (not in the articles but mentioned by belilaugh): really impressive footwork, passing, and low-post skills for a 19-year old... feels like an elder Sabonis in a peak Biedrins body... apparently a plus-defender... not a lot of places listing height and weight... some listing as 6'9" which would be undersized for an NBA center and he doesn't seem to have the quickness/speed to play the 4...

Fran Fraschilla claims that the Turkish league has like 25-30 former NBA players and is the second best league in Europe. That puts Sengun's domination of that league and MVP award at age 18 in a different light. I wonder how he thinks the Turkish league compares to the NBL.

Wowza...

The Mavericks have opened contract negotiations with Jason Kidd to be their next coach, league sources say, with support from their leading (but not yet identified) top candidate for head of basketball operations.

Carlisle (back) to the Pacers, JKidd rumored to the Mavs. Interesting.

Watching Trae Young shimmy all over the Bucks makes me absolutely itch for the Ws to be in these playoffs. Steph would average 48 for the entire series against this outdated Brook Lopez drop-coverage defense, especially since the Bucks seem morally opposed to sending double-teams or really making any kind of defensive adjustment whatsoever.

I love Wagner, and it’s not just because I’m a Michigan grad. Dude is a perfect fit for the Ws. Another glue guy who doesn’t have flashy stats but will make everyone around him better. And win. Great D, good passer, good shooter. Major limitation is indecision, but that improved and is fixable, unlike, say Josh Giddy’s lack of foot speed. Love him at 14, skeptical he will fall that far. Jalen Johnson - no! No!! NO!!! And it’s not just because he’s a Dukie and I’m a Michigan grad :) Guy is a project who will take years and maybe a head case to boot. Too much risk. Would love Barnes, Mitchell, or Moody at 7 (in that order) and Mitchell, Moody, Wagner, or Kispert at 14 (in that order). Each of these players can play now and has room to grow. I suspect the Warriors brass are thinking the same, but they have Zaire Williams at 14 somewhere on their list.

Real question, say Draymond was hurt this year instead of Klay, which team do you think has more success?

I don't get the Wagner hype, good defender but his jumper is iffy, athleticism will get exposed in NBA, 6'9 with only a 6'11 wingspan and no handle.

Give me moody at 7 and a project like Ziare at 14

The Cavs reportedly have interest in shopping this year's third overall pick. Could the Dubs get it? If so, what would it take?

Somebody sell me on Barnes over moody at 7? Yes Barnes looks like a more athletic Draymond but what if that jumper never comes around? Moody already has the jumper, defense and rebounding imagine if he adds better handling and finishing, like Klay

Just saw some Josh Giddey film.. I'll pass.

So maybe Giannis and the Bucks lose to the Hawks and he wants out. Wiggins+Wiseman+#7pick? Who is up for it? (Of course Oklahoma could offer 1/2 dozen first round picks so that probably wouldn't get it done)

Wagner would be an OK pick at 7, and a great pick at 14.

Johnson would be a terrible pick at 7, and a defensible pick at 14, but there's a number of guys I'd rather have.

The idea of Johnson is great. Athletic PF who can handle the ball and pass. Versatile defensively. Will put up some block and steal numbers. Maybe the jump shot comes around. He's very much in the Aaron Gordon/Josh Smith mold.

But he was pretty bad on Duke. The stats look OK, but they were better off without him for the most part. The same negative keeps coming back: Can't play in the halfcourt offense. That's even aside from the somewhat troubling background of switching schools every year, and then quitting midway through season. I think he's years away from being a good player on a good team. I think if he works out it looks a lot like Josh Smith. He will be a stat collecting player on a horrible team, and then slowly breaking through to contribute that to winning.

This is rough. If Barnes exiled to OKC, you have to deep dive on the remaining group of forwards: Wagner, Johnson, Z Williams or Right-Handed Jessup (Kispert.) If Johnson, Wagner & Williams all grade out close to each other (by GSW FO) it's not a bad bet that one of those 3 will fall to 14. It's a risk, because you damn well better land a combo forward in this draft. If one of these grades out higher, then you grab 'em at 7. I think Johnson and Wagner will at least be strong rotations players in the NBA. But is that what you want with the 7th pick? You can't pass up a future star to be sure that you have someone who will set a good pick in game 53 of the regular season.

Wagner (or Kispert) at #14 would seem solid. I’ve only watched a little film of Wagner, but the evaluations of his defense seem to be all over the place. Anyone got a handle on his D?
