That quote from Draymond about Podz is pretty cool and makes me even more convinced he’s legit.
In many ways, Podz is a mini-Draymond; high BBIQ, under-sized but plays way bigger, great court vision, much more vocal leadership than you’d expect from a rookie and more than a little cocky.
I think this whole thing with Kerr adjusting playing time is a continuation of the ego management that we saw with CP3 being one of the “6 starters”. He started with bread crumb comments while seeming to explore all options and really think it over, even if he’d already decided.
Now, we see him regretting not leaving Moody in the Sac game and talking about adjusting lineups and rotations, clearly hesitant to look like he’s giving up on Klay, Wiggs, but dropping hints.
I expect language something along the lines of “9 starters” as he starts working MM, JK and Saric into more lineups and minutes.
If egos didn’t affect coaching decisions so much, Wiggins and Klay should play off the bench while giving the young bucks some real world experience logging 25+ minutes! Especially because we have a losing record with the OG starting lineup. It’s all about energy, motivation, and momentum. Kerr free yourself of the egocentricity! F*ck it! Let them fly!
In response to Daniel's post on the win over Portland, as a fan, I'm just about done with this team. Why? The way the are coached, coddled, and protected from all criticisms that most of the league is unanimous on, including fans. The Warriors either can't or don't want to change and embrace the inevitable present and future for this team. It has pissed me off to a great extent and I am not enjoying watching this team play any longer. They don't deserve my fandom.
This post is the equivalent throwing a tantrum for attention. You have to announce that you're upset so everyone knows.
"They don't deserve my fandom" lol. As if you are so special that everyone is out there clamoring for your fandom.
You have every right to be pissed off and stop watching, but I hate to break it to you - no one else cares whether you're a fan. And your constant negativity will not be missed.
With all due respect, if you've been around the Golden State Warriors long enough, and you certainly may have, you might recall that there have been lows that were far beyond anything that the team is going through right now. Just saying. Long before there was a dynasty, there was a Dubs fan base who astoundingly filled Oracle no matter what. Just saying.
Oh, I've been through the lows. Pre-Cohan, & Cohan. It became fun when Nellie ran things even though they didn't win a ring. For me, this is not fun seeing an aging, smug, team, poorly managed. I'm not saying everyone is guilty and I certainly like seeing the new talent emerge. Part of it is the hype of WIN NOW. Lacob will milk this till it runs dry.
He can say it. But, its revisionist history. Frankly, the Dubs have NEVER won a title without me. Not ONCE. Dray may have been not even a twinkle in his father's eye, but I WAS THERE! He WASN'T.
I am trying hard to make my peace with this team - I guess we just have to enjoy Steph and the young guys play and DONT EXPECT ANYTHING much out of this season!
In yesterdays game I enjoyed a few things:
Our young guys hustling, Steph, and the young and athletic blazers playing real hard - also the refs were not too bad :-)
The old guard is tiring to me. No fun in watching them play poorly anymore even in a win against Portland who should have won this game, and Kerr with no idea how to integrate and develop his players. Now he's got to work for his money.
I think I do understand you because I go through those moments right after the losses. My point was that we are too addicted to stay away from feel good moments when do happen.
I know a lot of people like to hate on the NBA cup, but NBA gets the last laugh with a finals matchup of the classic Lakers v Pacers rivalry! Magic v Bird. LeBron v Hield. What a time to be alive. Wait.. you are telling me Pacers decided not to draft hometown hero Bird?! Nevermind, screw this (to be fair to our NBA overlords, I may watch the last quarter of the game (if it's close), which is more than I can say of most non-Warriors matchups).
Younger players will make some dough! Lakers stomped NO in an embarassing way. Looks like the Lakers will go deep in the playoffs. Gonna be an interesting match between Indiana and Lakers. I think the edge has to to Indiana, a high flying/scoring team with the best PG in the league, by far.
They didn't win by 20 but the dominated the game. This win may give them the confidence to go deep into the playoffs. They should swat the Warriors like flies if they play the way they did in this game. I have followed the Lakers like the Warriors for most of my adult life.
Counterpoint: Pacers are 28th in the league in defensive efficiency. A team with a defense ranking that low won't go far in the playoffs unless they do something to drastically improve their defense.
Granted, but there is a lot of season left and they've demonstrated an ultra offensive attack with an emerging super star in Haliburton. In the words of Nellie, 'offense is the best defense'. Personally, I want the Lakers to win but I wouldn't bet on them.

Wish Myers had a better retort for barkley !

i would have held up 4 fingers to show the 4 rings! - but Bob is a way better person than I will ever be!
Pels 3-0 v Kings (+17.0 avg. point differential)
Kings 2-0 v. Lakers (+10.0)
Lakers beat Pels by 44
Pels 71 points better than themselves?

Kuminga’s hero, the late great Kobe Bryant, would have been damn proud of his performance. I actually felt moments of deja vu seeing KJ play like KB.
Except for the part where JK took only only good shots in the flow of the offense and made all of them?
LOL. :)

The Time Kobe Passed (the ball)
Slater says: Gary Payton II will be re-evaluated again in one week, per Warriors. Team says he is making good progress from his calf injury.

You can choose not to watch Steph if you like. For me, the choice was made years ago: I will always watch.
Its the ups and downs from quarter to quarter let alone game to game combined with expectations OGs have created for excellence is the painful part
The ups and downs are part of the fun, isn't it? Of course regularly shellacking opponents by 40 points was fun too I'll admit. :-)
In Europe millions of basketball fans have an idea of fandom totally different from yours
Vaya con dios, companero
How is it different?
Because we can't tank
If you lose too much, you go to Division 2, Division 3, Division 4, and on
Your team may not play in big leagues for decades
It's like next year Detroit will be playin' in G League, or Oakland A's in AAA
Thnx
You have to really love a team fallin from Major League to Single A, to go on rootin and spending money and filling the stands for it
"We don’t need you. We won without you. Leave"
-Draymond Green

Nice sentiment.
"I'm sure you won't be missed."
-Basketbum, a few posts down

Weighing in from TJD Atoll, I can mention many aspects of this game that I enjoyed.
One, watching Draymond execute plays with hustle and precise passing for a Wiggins slash to the basket and a Kuminga dunk.
Two, watching some new and nifty moves by Saric under the basket.
Three, watching Moody begin to feel his power.
Four, seeing Kuminga set a good screen for a Steph three point shot.
Five, watching Draymond do his thing.
Six, enjoying Steph being Steph.
I find I enjoy the games more if I don’t focus on the big picture, rather on individual examples of growth and excellence.
And, of course, the game will be maximally enjoyable when TJD gets playing time.
The old guard is tiring to me. No fun in watching them play poorly anymore even in a win against Portland who should have won this game, and Kerr with no idea how to integrate and develop his players. Now he's got to work for his money.

wow - that was a superfast creation👍🏾
🤣🥰
You will be back when in few weeks when we are humming like a well oiled machine.
Then you really don't understand what I'm talking about.
I think I do understand you because I go through those moments right after the losses. My point was that we are too addicted to stay away from feel good moments when do happen.
That's the torture of this iteration of Dubs.
I am a basketball fan, first, then a Dubs fan. Bad basketball is ugly.
Don't feel bad rcknfn_needs_3moears. You're not alone. Nobody understands.
thats very true - even Kerr doesnt understand at this point :-)

Have not seen one tourney game yet.
I'm sure you won't be missed.
Lakers beat the Pelicans 133-89. Lakers outscored the Pels 66-35 in the 2nd half.
That’ll do wonders for their net rating.
I think this is more the "in-seasoning" tournament.
As in, the Pels are cooked.
CJ McCollum has a -38 +/-
I imagine there have been larger ones, but that's impressive.
Lakers outscored the Pels 43-17 in the 3rd Q. They're up 110-71.
Sigh the NBA Cup stinks
It'll be a success for the NBA since Lakers made finals.
They'll get another second-rate title to put next to their bubble asterisk title.
WTF. Lakers lead 90-60 with 5:44 left to go in the 3rd Q. Lebron, AD, and DLo are doing it all.
lebron really wants the first IST on his linkedin resume
Younger players will make some dough! Lakers stomped NO in an embarassing way. Looks like the Lakers will go deep in the playoffs. Gonna be an interesting match between Indiana and Lakers. I think the edge has to to Indiana, a high flying/scoring team with the best PG in the league, by far.
Lakers by 20
Absolutely no doubt about it
That's pretty optimistic.
123 - 109
I've seen and played enough basketball in my life, Basketbum
They didn't win by 20 but the dominated the game. This win may give them the confidence to go deep into the playoffs. They should swat the Warriors like flies if they play the way they did in this game. I have followed the Lakers like the Warriors for most of my adult life.

Personally I don't want the Lakers to win ever
No game they playin'
Why is that?
Lakers lead 67-54 at halftime. Lakers 11/21 threes; Lebron is 3/3 threes, Prince is 4/6, and Reaves is 2/5.
Announcers fluffing Lebron is so ewwww
He woulda won an NCAA championship if he had gone to college you know
Yeah that was particularly cringe.
