Thankful for the Joker-Murray Tsunami that hit the Cal coast in the 4th quarter, drowned the Lolakers 4gm-win-streak, and, hung another loss on them. Also, a grateful second-place appreciation award to Houston for longer-term DUB objectives-assistance, as ROCKETS admirably succeeded in eclipsing the SUNS, in PHOENIX...Now, let's break a Celtic 10g-win-streak....GO WARRIORS!

Rules changed to make real defense impossible...refs "t"ing guys up for the slightess show of emotion, etc. I think all that is intentional.

He played well off the bench for Denver last season, even got a shout out from Steve Kerr. As for the rest, yeah, he has a temper and probably said some sh** it the heat of the moment (on the phone, btw) that he didn't really mean and wishes he could take back. I think it should take more than that to "cancel" a person. Maybe you're perfect and have never said something stupid in the heat of a moment, but I don't know many who haven't.

Dude, have you followed his career at all? He didn't get cancelled, he canceled himself.

Here is a partial list of what's documented:

1. Sucker punched a guy in a NY nightclub.

https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2682391-demarcus-cousins-confronts-reporter-over-column-on-nightclub-incident

2. Punched Patrick Beverly in a game.

https://www.courier-journal.com/story/sports/college/kentucky/2014/02/27/nba-suspends-former-kentucky-player-demarcus-cousins-for-punching-opponent/5873069/

3. Confronted a Sacramento reporter because he didn't like a story.

https://abc13.com/sports/kings-reviewing-demarcus-cousins-tirade-at-local-columnist/1660824/ (look at the picture at the bottom of the article).

4. Got into a fight with his teammate.

https://www.espn.com/nba/news/story?id=6122359

5. A reporter said on the record that he was a bully to his teammates, coaches, staff.

https://www.thescore.com/nba/news/1185608

plus, of course, threatening to kill someone!

The off-the-record stuff I don't remember as well, but I do remember there were incidents of him bullying his own teammates.

Pass. I didn't like the Dubs signing him the first time, and there is no way he could or would help us now.

He's talking about Cousins. For some reason, JBC doesn't use the reply button much.

Nuggets and Lakers starters are doing very well tonight, but their benches aren't. Nuggets bench has 11 points, while Lakers bench has 7.

DeMarcus Cousins is available. The only reason he's playing is Taiwan rather than the NBA is his personality. Adam Silver is trying to turn the NBA into a milquetoast Disneyland so Boogie has been blackballed.

This just makes no sense.

Oh, and:

1. ACL injury which robbed him of his lateral movement and athleticism.

2. Threatened to off the mother of his child over the phone (recorded, no disputing it).

3. Was regarded as a bully when he played for SAC.

So, yeah, by all means, let's bring him back, 5 years! after he didn't have enough to hang with the Dubs the first time.

We've got a good team with a few flaws. All teams have flaws. We've proven we can win with the ones we have.

Might as well go after Bogut and Howard too if we are in the market for retired bigs who might stir things up in the locker room.

Strength in Numbers - It's pretty wild that we can slot in a slew of promising kids, many who can't legally drink, to 1) to cover for missing All-Stars with Wiggins, CP3 and Draymond, 2) pick up the slack for a slumping Looney, Wiggins, and Klay, and 3) deal with very confusing rotations and DNP-CDs.

Strength of Character - All the guys have also had to deal with the national attention on Draymond's 2 unique suspensions, and then many were in the room during the tragic death of beloved Coach Deki.

My irrational optimism is based on them going through so much already and being deeply bonded to play this season for Deki. (I'm also eager for one or more of BP, LQ, MM, GPII, or Saric to find their shot - it's gonna be sweet.)

Small correction - I think Podz is the youngest and he just turned 21, so they can all legally drink now, but just barely.

"Last night was brutal; that's the worst travel circumstances I've ever been involved with in the NBA," Kerr told reporters.

"I think we got in bed at eight o'clock this morning. The guys slept during the day, woke up and came to the game. So it was pretty rough. But I'm proud of the group for the way they competed, like I said after that slow start -- which was understandable -- we really locked in and did a good job."

Given how long Kerr has been in the NBA, that’s saying something.

Over the last month or so there have been many commenters promoting OPJ for that position. I do not think another wing is needed nearly as much as a huge body.

What available waiver wire wonder would do a better job?

All these 'we need a big, strong 7 footer to defend Jokic' takes founder on two things:

1. Nobody defends Jokic well. Draymond is pretty good.

2. More importantly, any 7 footer who is available has some significant flaw in his game, or he'd be on a roster somewhere.

In the playoffs, those flaws usually get exploited to the point that the player needs to be subbed off the floor.

Cool - what huge body, specifically?

Boogie Cousins is currently playing in Taiwan so he should be in shape to play.

Trent Brown is available, last I checked.

LBJ now has 48,023 career points. Yeah, 40k regular season points, whatever.

Can’t wait until Steph gets 4000 threes, even though he already has 4200+

Why is Aaron Gordon cosplaying as Gui Santos?

Loon & TJD can't hold their own with Joker or Gobert or AD & the like for a full game. They may get by for a single game in the regular season, but a 7 game playoff series is another matter.

Expand full comment

I actually think Looney can hold his own against anybody... he may foul and be limited in minutes, so maybe not for a full game, but he can defend against centers inside as well as anyone can.

Expand full comment

Yeah… that’s why they’re 9th and 10th in the rotation

Expand full comment

In the playoffs, I'm not sure Gobert and AD/Jokic should be compared.

Expand full comment

I don’t think Jokic and AD should be compared either, tbh.

Nor do I imagine any random big body who happens to be available on the scrap heap right now would be remotely useful against either of them.
