Nets just play terrible defense. I don't think Kyrie returning is exactly going to help in that regard.

OT: I do not understand this deal. The Cavs traded for Rondo in a three-way deal. The Knicks get Denzel Valentine from Cleveland; so far, it’s clear enough.

But the Lakers also send the Knicks the draft rights to Wang Zhelin, who was the 57th pick in the 2016 draft, and Brad Newley, the 54th pick in 2007. Say what? Why would they be in this or any other NBA trade? Plus the Lakers get the draft rights to Louis Labeyrie (57th pick in 2014) from the Knicks. More of the same. WTF?

I don’t get it. What value do these draft rights have even on paper?

Would love to see Klay star in "Cast Away 2" Giant storm in the Bay and boat trouble strand him on Deserted Island. He fashions a basketball court and chills out until Game 6 of the finals when he rolls up to Chase center on a floating device fashioned out of old Chic-Fillet to go bags with Rocco secured to his head with a collection of Jackie Moon headbands. Drops 15 3s in 3 quarters to force a game 7.

Just because.

I think for the first few plays klay will be double or triple teamed, so i hope for some drop off dunks by loony

Klay’s first game back: do they ease him into the offensive flow or just feed him with reckless abandon? I know which I want (hint: it kinda rhymes with feckless trey cannon).

Looked at tickets right after the news broke. Up top went from around $80 to around $300 with a QUICKNESS.

I said it back in November when I was looking at the schedule but January truly looks to be the toughest month of the year for the Dubs from purely a scheduling perspective. 17 games for the month (which I believe is the most games they have in any single month), 3 back to backs (2 of them on the road), only 1 stretch for the whole month where the team has more than 1 day of rest (Jan 7 and 8). 10 of the games are against teams at or over .500 including facing each of the top 5 teams in the east. I don't think that it's anything the Warriors can't overcome but I think January will be a month where the depth of the team will prove crucial more than at any other time during the regular season.

IS IT HAPPENING

—-

There’s optimism Golden Warriors guard Klay Thompson will make his return vs. the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday, sources tell ESPN. A final decision is expected once the Warriors return from a two-game trip on Friday.

Warriors are gonna be travelling a LOT in the next couple of weeks.

1/3- vs. Heat

1/5- @ Mavericks

1/6- @ Pelicans

1/9- vs. Cavaliers

1/11- @ Grizzlies

1/13- @ Bucks

1/14- @ Bulls

1/16- @ Timberwolves

After that is the seven-game homestand that starts on 1/18.

Just checked, but no injury updates for the Heat. Klay and Wiseman are the only players on the Warriors' list (both "out").

Heat haven't submitted their updated injury report yet -- they get a little extra time because it's after a back to back, but I'll look again in a few hours

When Klay returns and joins the starting lineup, I’d be interested to see a hockey line-up swap to a 2nd unit of Poole-GP2-Porter-Kuminga-Bjelly (with Iggy inserted as needed).

That lineup would have a nice blend of shooting, playmaking and defense.

On a side note, has anyone seen Jerry West's comments on Wiseman/Kuminga?

On Wiseman: "He's really talented. When you come into the league, I've always felt that he should be is a defensive player. They need him for that purpose sometimes against good teams. He's really talented. I don't know him but I understand that he's a great kid, he's quiet. A lot of the time people see that and say 'i don't see the fire.' There's a lot of people who don't jump around all over the place and have a lot of fire. I'm hopeful that he will be the player that they expect him to be."

On Kuminga: "The Kuminga kid, he, in particular, there's something special about him when you watch him. He's young and you can't expect these young guys to come in and play very experienced guys all the time."

Getting the okay sign from the Logo is fantastic!! If you're interested in reading the full article, here you guys go!

Klay is the Christmas present still wrapped under the tree because Grandma wants to see you open it but missed her flight out from Orlando. At this point you just have to blame the old dog and unwrap that new puppy. He's been boxed up long enough.

So beyond the answer of "we want Klay back as soon as possible," as far as reintegrating him would it really be better for him to come back against the Cavs to then go on a tough road trip (Grizzlies, Bucks, Bulls, Timberwolves) or to come back with a relatively forgiving homestand in front of the team (Detroit, Indiana, Houston, Utah, Dallas, Minnesota, Brooklyn)?

Or does it really matter at all?
