Of course the hall will induct him, he played the right way. Iguodala epitomized a champion, sacrificing ego for the team goal: Four Rings. He made the right plays like he was a machine! Like he was Tony Williams playing behind Miles Davis. He was a master and improvised at a moment’s notice to counter the opponent’s scheme. He was a jack of all basketball trades AND a master in the right moments. Need a three pointer with seconds remaining in the game? All net. Need to defend a one point lead against their best player? How about a steal. Need to tie and win the game on the free throw line? No problem. Sink both like Curry. Need to play off the bench in the Finals to cover LeBron in his prime? How about an MVP worthy performance. Iguodala exceeded in multiple dimensions. His 19 years of basketball relevance served as testament to the flexibility and power of his mind, body, and “down-the-lane-dunk-jamming” spirit.
Curry (great offensive player and passing lane disruptor with 2+ passing lane steals a game,) Klay glued to the ball handler deadly from outside, Iguodala great communication on both sides of the ball good on and off ball defender & good cutter, Barnes can’t be backed down in the post and can switch on the wing, Draymond can’t be backed down in the post good help D communicator and good 4 on 3 decision maker on the roll.
What would this team be able to put up that can play D as well as those 5 and fly around on O?
Curry, GP2, Wiggins (Ender Wiggins not Minny Wiggins), Kuminga, Dray
If Wiggs can’t find his motor or slows down the ball: Podz gets boards and moves his feet on D and see the pass on O.
I would worry that that lineup would lack spacing, with GPII, Dray, and kuminga all being treated as non shooters. The defense would be awesome though.
If other teams start treating Kuminga like a shooter, that makes a lot of lineups way more dangerous.
Kind of amazing that Giannis is as good as he is despite having a broken jumper, broken FT stroke, and no real go-to offensive move other than to try to run through people.
I actually think we might be witnessing the beginning of a very gradual decline with him. He's still awesome, obviously, but so reliant on freak athleticism that even a 4-5% drop in that regard could make him a lot easier to deal with.
He may taper down as a highly efficient elite scorer, but he'll likely still be a good one. I think he could have a Duncan or Garnett like post prime where he's more of a secondary scorer, but still an elite defensive player.
There is a LOT to appreciate about Giannis's game. He's not a one of one in terms of size and athleticism. There's guys roughly his size who are that fast. He's not even a particularly explosive leaper. He may be stronger than a lot of guys, but he wasn't born that way. I doubt there's a big man in the league who is even close to his dedication to strength and fitness.
Basketball skill wise - Giannis's ball handling and passing are extremely rare for a player his size. Effort is also a skill and he's one of the hardest playing big men ever. There's a handful of guys in the league who would be better than him if they played anywhere near as hard as he did.
I agree to some extent, but also "big, strong and long athlete that plays like one" may be a bit under-selling it, because he does what almost no other big strong and long athlete in league history has ever done when you consider elite defensively and efficient offense at 30ish pts a game.
But, I agree what he does do is very dependent on athleticism, so I would expect him to falter once that does. I dont know your feelings on Shaq, though I could see them as pretty similar in that regard -- certainly Shaq has achieved more, but at their primes were essentially elite two-way players who had certain physical strengths that are almost unheard of for people their size. Shaq of course also saw significant declines as his physicality waned -- just based on physique I doubt it will be as abrupt for Giannis, but the same general principle may apply.
I thought that was a great pickup for them. Perfect fit. He can be an athletic guy who can guard people, shoot 3's. Can play with either PJ Tucker or Harris and offers stuff the others don't. He's WAY better than a minimum player.
He'll definitely not lead the league in assists any time soon. With the Dubs, once he got the ball in the front court, he either shot, got fouled, committed an offensive foul, or turned the ball over.
Steph, Klay and Draymond should be voted in all at once. That's the Drafted Dynasty, and it was those Weapons of Joy plus Special Guests that broke basketball and ruled the world.
Though Andre was the sage who had First Sight of the future Warrions. And then his anticpatory mind and magic hands were the nitro that juiced the first runs. But I don't see HoF, myself.
I liked it when starts complaining about how hard it is to guard Steph and then he and JK commiserate about Steph’s handle about how he teases you so it looks like you can steal it but you can’t.
Interesting to see Gay in the practice, despite not being signed. There were a couple of other guys there that I didn't recognize as well, and they didn't look like coaches.
Noted Warriors enthusiast John Hollinger had JK on his list of breakout players with some nice praise such as:
preseason showed that he might have another level. In five preseason games, he averaged 21.8 points in just 27 minutes a contest, tallying a 67.9 true shooting percentage and a 23.4 PER. Preseason, sure, but that’s impressive stuff at any level.
There is nothing more life-affirming than being on hold with the IRS explaining that you have already sent in the form that they requested you send, they can see it in their records, and they still don't know what to do next.
OT: I've had a mix of emotions yesterday and today related to the 49ers. Purdy was placed on concussion protocol made me go, "Oh shit!" And Purdy practicing and being out on the field made me go, "Well, that's kind of a relief."

Man... Suns looked so, so terrible in the 4th...
He made all the bad decisions...
Other teams still know that we've won the NBA Finals four times in the past decade.
Lakers outscoring the Suns 17-3 in the 4th quarter....
Durant has 30 points (10/17 FGs, 10/12 FTs).
Suns up 52-48 at half bs Lakers - suns without booker and beal. Lakers with refs and refbron james and alternate quarter davis 😬
They are up 82-72 at end of 3rd with KD on 30 - dubs lost to a very good team
Lakers: Suns don't have Booker and Beal! This should be an easy win for us!
Suns: Hahaha-no.
Seeking a new death lineup.
The original lineup that crushed the league:
Curry (great offensive player and passing lane disruptor with 2+ passing lane steals a game,) Klay glued to the ball handler deadly from outside, Iguodala great communication on both sides of the ball good on and off ball defender & good cutter, Barnes can’t be backed down in the post and can switch on the wing, Draymond can’t be backed down in the post good help D communicator and good 4 on 3 decision maker on the roll.

If Wiggins can’t find his motor, I’m pretty sure Moody would be next man up before Podz.

Dame Time, tho...

Lillard with 39 points. 17 of those were FTs

KOJ 27 points for Philly so far? That KOJ? Well, good for him.
King Orange Juice? Klepton Octavious Jeharris? Wassamatter, you charged per letter you type?
Wassamatter? Wannamaker? Haven't we gotten past this yet?

Some ticky tacky fouls called on him though and that was key to the bucks pulling it out
He's having the best opening game of any former Warrior - including KD, I suppose.

GP2 mic’ed up for training camp. https://youtu.be/XALA5s9Ci8w?si=XMeG4SyJZwcLnq0v

Thanks for that. Now it’s easy to see why Robinson got a two way. The hand shake dance step chemistry was real.
Interesting to see Gay in the practice, despite not being signed. There were a couple of other guys there that I didn't recognize as well, and they didn't look like coaches.
The footage is from training camp, so Gay was signed during this for what its worth.
Ah. oops. I thought it was current. Thanks.
Still wouldn't be surprised if they signed him before their two weeks with 13 players runs out.
That's what I'm assuming will happen.
Save a few pennies, and then we get Gay back.

I'm impressed you actually got someone on the phone there at all; I never have. Had to interact with them entirely by snail mail without recourse.
God speed my man. I read IRS and stopped reading. I think you can understand.
In those situations I like to make several Quite Helpful Suggestions as to what they can go and do Next.
Lakers getting a big break today with no Booker and Beal.
But Okogi is there and he might be enough
I believe Booker was questionable against the Dubs, was it his foot then too? Probably should've sat out.
OT: I've had a mix of emotions yesterday and today related to the 49ers. Purdy was placed on concussion protocol made me go, "Oh shit!" And Purdy practicing and being out on the field made me go, "Well, that's kind of a relief."
Thank you for using OT
We'll see if he's ready to go this Sunday. I don't another 2022 Tua situation.
