Just rewatching Kerr's introductory press conference in 2014.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rxo3gqwn5Oc

Amazing signing of someone who had never coached before!

Myers: "When you strip it all away, what matters most is winning. And sitting to my left is someone who has won at every level. And I don't think that can be understated because when you are around people who have won, it rubs off on you." #BobGod

Phil Jackson: 13 titles (2 as player, 11 as head coach)

Bill Russell: 11 titles (9 as player and 2 as player-coach)

Tom Heinsohn: 10 titles (8 as player and 2 as head coach)

K.C. Jones: 10 titles (8 as player and 2 as head coach)

Steve Kerr: 9 titles (5 as player and 4 as head coach)

Pat Riley: 6 titles (1 as player, 5 as head coach)

Steve Kerr: "My view is not next year we gonna win 52 games, or we gonna get to the second round. My view is what we gonna do next decade.. "

The two passes were way more impressive than the dunk.

And to fit the theme of this tourney, J Rich was gold!

Ran across this video from 2010 (posted in 2020) with bits from a CP3 camp that had Steph, Seth, HB, Beal, and a bunch of other guys. Some really fascinating stuff here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6fGZyrXIZtg.

#8 The play showcased the talent, creativity, and execution of three sure-fire HOF players in four seconds during a game (albeit lopsided) situation. Far better than any dunk in a dunk contest.

Of course, I'm expecting dunk number 8 to go up against the BD posterizing of AK47 in the next round, so its shelf-life may be limited in this contest.

Even this dunk, though, was overshadowed by the one guy on the floor who didn't touch the ball in that possession, who ended up scoring 60 points in 29 minutes on 11 dribbles. Some night!

My vote goes to #8, but neither of these really does it for me. The play on #8 was spectacular and embodied some of the best of what the Ws could be in that first season together, but the dunk itself was only decent. Still, it happened in-game, which makes it better than the Richardson contest dunks, as fun as they were.

Richardson #9. Those Richardson dunk contest performances were like the only thing Warriors fans had to be happy about in that era, they "put the Warriors on the map" albeit in one of the more insignificant ways possible. The Green to Curry to KD play was iconic but the dunk itself was actually the worst part of it, KD placed it into the hoop rather than stuffing it in.

EDIT: Richardson off the backboard between the legs is one of the cleanest dunk contest dunks of all time.

geez... I rarely vote for this stuff (love it, keep it up, I just don't vote...)

#8 - yes, iconic.

Knew it one of a kind the moment we saw it. 30 point lead and they come up with that.

Frankly, that's about the time I just started watching games standing up. Spares startling the GF with my suddenly jumping out of the chair.

>You might say, wait isn’t this just an excuse to rewatch fantastic dunks? Of course not, this is purely for science.

Thank god! Otherwise I feel dirty watching fantastic dunks just for the pleasure of it ...

#8 because even though I agree with others that the actual dunk by KD wasn't all that, I agree with tempprofile in that that basketball plays are much more what I'm into. Not dissing people who like nasty dunks but for me there are guys who are really good at dunking who aren't very good at basketball and I am a basketball fan first. (there's a longer answer involving BB philosophy and the spiritual purification involved with team play but no one wants to read that)

#8 gets my vote. It’s one of the most globetrotter-esque plays I’ve seen in an actual game, and I’m always going to favor in game dunks over dunk contests. That dray-curry-kd sequence is just absolutely iconic

#8 for me. In game, spontaneous, not perfect but all the more amazing because of it, trying crazy shit and making it possible. All the potential of the KD era in GS encapsulated in a play.

Checking in on QE’s numbers on royal-reference.com, that 70-year-reign record is remarkable. For perspective, 73-year-old rookie monarch Charles will need to still be playing in the 2092-93 season at 143. (Personally, I don’t think his knees will hold up that long.) Even if top prospect William were to get called up today, he’d need to still be going at it at 120.

The record is safe for now but diaper dandy George is jonesing for a shot at it.
