I LOVE LILLARD'S GAME. Having said that, is he now at 2XMVP/UNANIMOUS/COG on WINNINGEST/3X CHAMPION TEAM - CURRY LEVEL OF DOMINANCE...Politely, no, and he will never be; and, it's not even about stats....

No champagne no championship

Nope. Next question.

Lillard's supporting cast has never been as good as Curry's though. McCollum is good, but he isn't Klay Thompson, almost nobody is like KD and not many players are like Draymond either. David Lee was a darn good player on offense as well. We get a lot of stories about Curry's gravity, but when you have guys like Thompson and Durant on the court it makes it a lot easier to run around until you find a spot for an open 3.

And yet his gravity and activity still has gamebreaking effects even when they aren't on the court

Also, as we saw for a few games this past season, Curry's famed relocation threes work a lot better when you have teammates who recognize how to clear a side, draw the defense, set a hard screen, and pass the ball well. Everyone in the Death Lineup (multiple versions) did all of those things at a high level. Portland's supporting cast has been less reliable for that.

Even the non-death lineup players were good at it. Bogut, Pachullia, and West were all good screeners and pretty good ball handlers. Curry is definitely the straw that stirs the drink, but putting together the collection of talent that the Warriors have around him is darn near impossible in a salary capped league.

Why is it satisfying to see James Harden in the bottom half of the 3 PT % column

Oh, how quickly people forget. This talk makes me long for next season.

Wow, that chart of Steph’s four seasons and Dame’s... I mean it is an all-time GREAT stretch Dame is having... but if Steph put up those numbers any time in the last four years, you’d have people asking “is Steph washed up? His 3P% and TS% are dipping hard”. Which is pretty damn amazing.

Can't say I'm real upset about this, Burke does an good job at it within the parameters of the job, and Gold-Onwude was even better, but at the end of the day, giving players and coaches an opportunity to spout cliches doesn't really enhance the game viewing experience much. Gold-Onwude ought to at least get a shot at being the domain expert announcer for a team someday.

I thought the same thing, but there’s no open positions for the offense, right?

Well, you'd find a job for him if he wanted it (similar to whatever the hell role Steve Nash serves). But I would guess Gentry is going to be looking for a head coaching job

New Orleans has looked kind of inconsistent, rarely living up to its potential during his tenure. Can we put that on him? I dunno, but I'll be curious to see who takes his place. (Established) Star NBA coaches aren't exactly sitting around in free agency at the moment.
