GOLD BLOODED DNHQ VIDCAST: Sifting through the emotions of the Poole-CP3 bombshell trade
CHANGE IS GOOD...right?
Loss can make you do some crazy things. The Golden State Warriors lost their title defense and then promptly traded alleged foundational piece Jordan Poole for one of the biggest antagonists in the Golden Empire’s history, Chris Paul.
Who woulda thought that the once beloved sixth man would end up getting punched in training camp, exposed in the playoffs, and shipped out in a 12 month span after being integral to the Warriors winning their latest ring? When I first heard the news, I was at a loss for words.
But you know, there’s something about loss that’s refreshing. New opportunities, new ways to look at problem solving, and a healthy appreciation for how what once was now leads to what is. The Warriors are no stranger to that magical process of hurting, healing, tinkering, growing, adapting, and figuring out how to turn pain points into strength.
Loss and gratitude go hand in hand, and in this chunky podcast, I team up with Dr. Tom and Patrick Murray to share a gumbo of grief, excitement, and perspective on end of the Poole era and the beginning of the CP3 assimilation.
And I speak for all of us in the Golden Empire when I say this interesting risk better pay off, because Dub Nation doesn’t like to lose anymore than we have to.
Sit back and enjoy this one, it’s one of my favs!
My dream scenario. At trade deadline, CP flipped to MIA for Kyle Lowry and Dray flipped to CHI for DeMar DeRozen. These moves would reunite the comedy team of Lowry/DeRozen. For those who don't remember, as members of the Raptors, these guys were the Abbott and Costello of the NBA. Their tag team post game press conferences were the stuff of legend. Win or lose, you get a post game show worth the price of admission.
