There’s some very good basketball on tonight, with TNT hosting the first meeting between the Los Angeles Clippers and the newly revamped Brooklyn Nets ahead of the Warriors game against the Celtics.
Not much from me now, but Apricot will have an E1P, and I'll be back tomorrow with a bit more on what this game means moving forward. Lots of roster holes and not many options, so we are just going to have to lean into a Mark Jackson-esque "play better" philosophy
At least we're dealing with short term injuries on centers... probably... I guess? Losing Looney is crazy, his IQ and screening have been important to getting Steph unlocked against decent defenses. No Chriss, no Loon, no Wiseman, no Smiley (would they even throw him into the fire if they could?) Coming after the crazy injuries of the past few years, this is just ridiculous at this point. How often does a team lose four centers? Defying probability.
Such a frustrating season, feels like there have been so many schedule losses (even if the Ls wouldn't have been guaranteed Ws in better circumstances).
If they had gotten a starting caliber center in free agency, they'd be a 4 seed right now imo.
Also, I'm still on Oubre Island, but the fouling today was unacceptable.
I do think that if Draymond gets his conditioning all the way back, the Warriors can start playing both Oubre and Wiggins in the second unit with Paschall, and it'll look better.
Wiggins 1-8 on 3pt tonight. 2-5 on FT. Oubre cost like 15-20 pts on defense and missed dunks. They got outrebounded by 15. And they still only lost by 4.
Oubre needs to learn to value scoring actual points over style points. A pump fake or creating contact on his drives can go a long way. His mistakes are killer because its a 4-5 point swing and momentum for the other team EVERY SINGLE TIME.
Is this the Basketball All Star Game or World Wrestling Federation? Ridiculous introduction.
post game is up

On the plus side, JTA continues to be really good. If he can hit 3s out of nowhere while playing the 4/5? That's a valuable player.
On the minus side, he might have gotten injured? We'll see.

Nah he’s have gotten injured too :p
True.
Curry and Dray - 11 rebounds each. Everyone else - 3 or less!! What a waste of Curry's 38pt/11r/8a!

Kaleb Wesson is 6'9. Could they sign him to a 10-day without removing anyone from roster?
If Smiley is still on injury list, I think they can get a player w/o removing anyone after 2 more games
I mean Wiseman still out for more than 2 games
There's also... Jordan Bell
Dedmon
Nooooo!
So only had this one in the background while doing other stuff.
But wtf, now Looney is hurt too??!?!
Yeah it's an ankle. Fortunately he walked off on his own weight so I don't think it'll be a long term deal
So Wiggins our tallest guy on roster now? Ugggh
Minnesota Wiggins tonight was a bummer, but at least they kept it close. Good defense, JTA was critical.
Anybody know what's going on with EP? Is he hurt or just lost his mojo?
He had back spasms at halftime last game... it could mean they're trying to not play him too much.
Just so frustrating. Not at the effort tonight but at the injury luck. Of course with all of our big guys out Looney gets hurt.
Looney could’ve made a difference...ah well
Looney, wiseman, Chriss ..... smh
Next year we better get 0 injuries. This is just cruel at this point
GSW showed a lot of fight. And a lot of hustle. And some lapses of judgment.
Irritating
OK, I think now it may be mathematically impossible.
NEVER well maybe
Injuries, missed FTs, rebound differential, Oubre playing badly as usual, Wiggins not such great game but we still kept it close.
Dumb ending from steph. Pass that shit back out
