What happened when Patrick Beverly tries to guard James Harden? Does Harden foul him out?

Oh shucks post game just for me? Lol but seriously thanks, I'm not sure if the lack of post game thread is the reason, but it felt like there were more discussions after the game when we had them.

Omari Spell man gonna get waived by Knicks.

Potential Chriss replacement?

Expand full comment

A lot of people liked him even though I was indifferent. Don't got the space though

Assuming Smiley is off the table, I don’t see who they waive to make the roster space?

Expand full comment

Waiving Chriss with an under the table deal for next year? IIRC, he will get his money as he has a guaranteed contract.

Hmmm sneaky. That even seems cap legal to me

When Draymond tried to double Leonard the first time it looked too risky. After the second consecutive time I shut the game off. Since I was hoping we would get Batum, it hurt to see him kicking butt for them against us. Batum shooting 45.7% from 3 on almost 4 attempts per game. Don't leave him open!

You're not going to watch a lot of game time this season if that's your threshold.

I agree! I have a toddler so when it's past 9pm and it's pretty certain they're done I tend to turn it off these days. Not like the old days when I'd keep watching to the end of every game during the 20-win seasons.

especially with Wiggins doing so well, that little hedge from Dray was a bad move - and it ended up costing us bad.

If his body holds up, you guys think he’ll be more productive to the team than Wanamaker or Mulder? Assuming we cut Mulder for him and he takes Wanamaker’s minutes.

Expand full comment

Mulder needs more minutes and needs to shoot more. He obviously has a 3 that works. Use it! He and Lee have been clutch from outside. I'm with 3D. No more marginally talented backup pg's.

I'm rooting for him but I don't know if he will. He wont be able to replace Mulder as a "Just Add Water" emergency 3pt shooter so it's probably more likely he'd take Wanamaker's spot if anything. But Wanamaker has been solid aside from his shooting which will eventually be closer to his career average (better than Lin's). If Lin can replicate his ATL numbers in 2018-19 with more efficient outside shooting, then maybe?

idk... We are neck deep in marginally talented backup PGs right now, and I think it would take a little roster maneuvering to bring Lin back at this point.

Wanamaker hasn't been great, but he hasn't been disastrous, and it just feels to me like we need to figure out a way to get Baze more minutes. In other words, when I think about bringing Lin back, I'm into it, but there are a whole lot more immediately evident obstacles than there are reasons to pull the trigger on a roster move.

Fosho, I actually want to see Poole out there more. No point in Wanamaker, my guess is he won’t be here next year.

There definitely did feel like another gear to the Clippers stars' effort level late in the 4th. Oddly, Kerr did not match by varying his lineup. It makes me wonder if we're really playing this year for next year, wanting to win to prove that the new team, and the new defense, can gel into a force but not particularly interested in a higher seed because it hurts the draft assets, and perhaps reduces opportunities to develop Wiseman into a 30m a night guy. If that's the case, last night was a success. If not, I'm struggling with Kerr's choices in the 4th. Wiseman will benefit from the experience no doubt, but it would be a shot in the arm to the confidence of this team and its players to knock off some high level competition. And I wouldn't mind shutting up all the obnoxious naysayers out there.

You have the wrong long game. Kerr is playing for the end of the season, not for now. Which is the right move.

Rope-a-dope if the Warriors win by 15 on Friday. Otherwise, just beat by talent.

Expand full comment

Yup, those close games non blow out losses, hits a solid medium for retaining the draft pick and developing the team and chemistry.

Obviously Wiseman wasn't the only issue. Taking Oubre off given poorly he was shooting and making decisions might also have been a good idea, and frankly, he was struggling on the defensive end as well toward the end.

Expand full comment

yeah, but winning creates confidence...i think being part of a winning enviroment is important...we could have won that game with lee or paschal instead of wiseman...

Expand full comment

The Warriors will win their fair share this season and are a fringe playoff team. No matter how much confidence they gain, they aren't likely to be a championship team. In any event, one of the ways you build confidence is to let players continue to play when they hit a rough spot as Oubre clearly has. If they are already struggling, it isn't going to help anybody to be thinking that if they blow their next opportunity, they are bound for the end of the bench.

Expand full comment

In Oubre's case, I disagree. He's hurting the team effort and can be successfully used off the bench. When Klay return, that is exactly what is going to happen if they resign Oubre. At this point, it's quite iffy.

Expand full comment

I don't think they have any intention of resigning Oubre, he is purely a rental.

What mDuo13 said.

I'm not so sure. They got his Bird rights with the trade so if he's reliable then it's totally an option to keep him. With Klay back he probably doesn't start but a contender is more than 5 players deep and he could, theoretically, play a big sixth man role.

With how his season's been going so far, though, it's not looking good.
