My entirely oversimplified take is that Steph has been pressing/unfocused the past two games, perhaps in part because his shot hasn't been falling as reliably, perhaps because he wasn't getting up as much for the road games with opponents missing their star power, and it has been costly to the team.
Greater-than-expected rate of bonehead turnovers, forced actions, missed defensive plays. Soon as he subbed in mid-4th, I felt game went off the rails. Honestly I though Kerr was gonna leave him on the bench after Jimmy+the lesser rotation players fought to build a decent little lead there, but there's no use speculating - still 75 games remaining and plenty of story to be written!
No big knock on Steph though, he is human and I also still believe in his superpowers. But needs to shake off whatever mini-funk he's gotten himself into.
(my joke take is that Steph saw Giannis chilling with TWO of his brothers and got wistful for the day when Seth finally officially joins the team, the notion of which has momentarily distracted him from his usual unearthly dominance)
editing to add: at least the get-back game against Indy is close at hand. Next Sunday at Chase!
The combo of the Warriors losing and the Dodgers winning has blown a hole in space-time continuum and reports are coming in that at around 2 this morning, time moved backward an entire hour. I'll take it, though.
I'm not too weirded out by the losses, though I suspect they will come back to bite us in the standings at the end of the year (like taking us from sixth to seventh, or something hideous like that).
I do find it a little frustrating, though, that it's the OGs that seem to be the guys having the most trouble focusing here at the start of the season. Dray and Steph have been kind of meh so far, I think. Horford's been kind of bad lately.
JK's been up and down (5 TOs is not good) but working, and trying to do what the team wants. Moody's been decent. Podz is not the wonderboy that we have gotten used to, but JK hoovering up rebounds is part of that, I think. All in all, not much to complain about from the youngsters.
If this is a sign of age related decline, due to fatigue, having it in game 7 is a little perturbing.
I wonder if the first 5 games were enough of a “proof of concept” for the OGs, that they felt like they know what they’re capable of, and have downshifted into “it’s a long season” mode already… I don’t like it, but it is early
I think they've definitely shifted into "it's a long season" mode, but that shouldn't mean that they drop two extremely winnable games. I'd expect that more to be a factor against better teams.
An elite team trying to establish itself and knowing a gauntlet of very difficult games is waiting does not lose back to back games against those two teams.
This team is good but very vulnerable. Age, lack of size and too much dependence on 3 point shooting will make this season a yo yo experience. If injuries kick in, watch out.
The beauty of OKC is obviously their depth and young talent, but also the consistency of their superstar. It is a big deal to have your star not having to be making 3’s in my opinion.
I was only able to watch the first half and then went out for dinner. I commented in the other thread that I was not feeling confident about the game. The guys were sloppy, looked tired, and not shooting particularly well. It looked like the Bucks game all over again. I don’t know if I want to watch the replay of the second half. Why should I torture myself, right? We had a fantastic start with our first four wins. What happened?
Steph and especially Dray just cannot find the same level of focus against bad teams. They should know by now that the days of flipping a switch late to steal a win are long behind us. But they don't, so we "fuck around and find out". Sigh. It does make you wonder - would we have had a better chance if we rested one or both of them?
What a disappointing night. Jays came so close but LA seems destined to be the team of the decade. They don’t know the “Beat LA” cheer in Ontario.
Then watched the recorded Warriors game and it just never felt right all night. Our old guys looked a little old. Two games in a row now. They need these next few days off.
Despite the 2 horrendous losses, especially today, if they can sweep the Phoenix Sacramento back to back at least the division record will be good. I have a feeling conference and division record tie breakers will come into play for seeding.
I still haven't recovered from that dumbass Steph behind the back turnover pass to Klay in the 4th with the game there for the taking. What came after was the cherry on top
Okay now that it's over I'm back at being disgusted at the fact we let a nobody 173lb guard drop 25 on us on 10-16 shooting and 10 assists without committing a single turnover
Sports is supposed to be entertainment and that was an entertaining World Series. A lot more entertaining than whatever that abomination in Indiana was earlier today that Eric made me forget.
A BAY AREA TEAM HAS WON A GAME THAT IT WAS EXPECTED TO WIN

Its also Dray. He similarly hasn't gotten up for these games in the same way.
Also to your edit: Reminder that Indy has never lost at chase center

I will not take it. I hate when it gets dark so early
Dude, it's just a sports game, there's no way it would have that kind of effect on ... OH MY GOD!

Playing down to the level of competition assuming they can flip a switch
Horrible night to be a Giants/Warriors fan.
Even just for a giant Warriors fan...

Absolutely. We have not looked that good last couple of games but that doesn't mean we aren't good. We are champs we just don't know it yet.
Yamamoto 17.2 Innings pitched in the World Series in three appearances
Total ERA of 1.02
3 wins.
What a badass.
MadBum clears but that was indeed a great performance
I was on site for Game 7 of the 2016 Finals so I don't feel bad for the Blue Jays fans that were there right now
I was there too, you must have missed that we all made a pact to never discuss it
Probably the first and only time I felt physically sick from witnessing a sporting event
Jesus Christ. Are you okay?
I still haven't recovered from that dumbass Steph behind the back turnover pass to Klay in the 4th with the game there for the taking. What came after was the cherry on top
I feel physically ill even reading it. Can’t imagine having seen it live.
The Horror... The Horror...
I'm really not prepared for the inevitable Steph slander that I was already seeing today on r warriors.
Steph had a bad game ending, but there's no reason to wallow in it with the most unhappy complainers on the internet
Stay here then, for some homegrown slander
Waitress, I'd like some homegrown slander with a side of angst.
I'll start it off with a Stephen Curry is washed for $500, Alex
What is: what does a new arrival at DNHQ say first thing they get here?
Annoyed by how much money wins championships in this day and age. Especially by hated rivals.
Magic Johnson owns 2.3% of the Dodgers. Use that information to win your next trivia contest, I guess.
Okay now that it's over I'm back at being disgusted at the fact we let a nobody 173lb guard drop 25 on us on 10-16 shooting and 10 assists without committing a single turnover
Everybody in the NBA has talent…
And they show their talent the most when they play our sorry defense lol
Except Austin Rivers
But is he still in the NBA?
