Greetings from the Moynihan Train Hall in NYC, where the BATT (Big Ass Train Trip) is about to take us to Washington DC, where we’ll stay three nights at my best friend’s house and watch tonight’s game with excited anticipation.
The Warriors are being picked to win tomorrow but the reality of the situation is that they look very beatable and have lost a lot of their chemistry. The long season can wear any team down and it's looking like that wall could be closing in on the team. Otoh, we all know anything can happen. But I'm looking at how good other teams are playing and I don't see our boys matching up with any of them for the ring unless they are able to regain that rhythm they are known for.
Somewhere, Kristaps Porzingis just fell down for no reason. Again. That trade was such a Dallas win. Porzingis is in my mind practically unplayable in a modern defense, and they already have Boban if they want a tall unplayable guy. Meanwhile Dinwiddie and Bertans have fit in really really well. Neither is an all-star but Dinwiddie can get close; huge trade win for Dallas, as many of us said at the time.
No team is looking like a world-beater right now. Ws, up-and-down as they've been, are not much different than the other remaining teams. Every team has had absolute crappers, especially on the road.
Looks like whichever team manages to stay healthy and handle their business will end up on top.
Well, if the Warriors win tomorrow then they probably have 3 days off compared to 1 day off for Dallas/Phoenix. Although if they lose they have much bigger problems than a lack of a comparative rest advantage.
Key stats for the Mavericks' victory over the Suns tonight:
Assists & turnovers: Suns had 18 assists and 22 turnovers, while the Mavs had 18 assists and 8 turnovers. Moreover, Suns had only 3 steals while the Mavs had 16!
Three pointers: Suns were 6/18 threes with CP3 hitting three of them. Mavericks were 16/39 threes. Bullock was 6/11, Dinwiddie had 5/7, Bertan was 3/5, and Doncic was 2/8.
Free throws: Suns were 18/21 FTs while the Mavs were 27/36 FTs.
Excellent. Stretching out this series is good for us no matter what. Now hopefully we can win tomorrow and get a nice long break before taking on the winner of this mess.
Suns really imploding. Crowder cheap-shots Ntilikina by throwing him down - he ends up falling on CP3 and CP3 left with a hand injury. I didn't expect CP3 to break down until Game 2 or 3 of the WCF but he's been trash for several games now and at this rate, the Suns might not be around for the WCF.

Ill rather Steve Kerr coach via Zoom than Mike Brown coach another game

Mavericks beat the Suns 113-86. This series has now gone to 7 games.
Oh thank god. Now all the Dubs gotta do is handle business

CP3 tonight - 4 buckets, 2 boards, 4 assists, 2 steals, 5 turnovers, 5 fouls. -14 in 36 minutes.

Guess that's it. The only interesting thing left is whether the Mavs will try to get a dunk at the buzzer.
18 assists and 20 turnovers for the Suns, 17 assists and 7 turnovers for the Mavs.
Told y'all. Going to 7
If Phoenix ends up losing this game, the Warriors will still have a better chance of advancing to the West Finals - at least for the next 24 hours.
