Game 6's usually go well for the Warriors

Warriors are going to a Game 6 at home against the #2 seeded Memphis Grizzlies. I was so annoyed by how the last game went, I had to go look at every Game 6 ever during the Splash Bros era to remind myself of how good the Warriors usually perform in those pivotal clashes.

The Dubs are 8-3 since 2013 in Game 6’s and here are those highlights, with six words that sum up their memories for me.

Warriors 92, Nuggets 88 - May 2nd, 2013

Splash Bros lure Iguodala after elimination.

Spurs 94, Warriors 82 - May 16th, 2013

Young Dubs learn lessons from Popovich.

Warriors 100, Clippers 99 - May 1st, 2014

Warriors survive CP3’s desperate clutches temporarily.

Warriors 108, Grizzlies 95 - May 15th, 2015

Dubs employ the Tony Allen Treatment.

Warriors 105, Cavaliers 97 - June 16th, 2015

Cleveland’s locker room smells like champagne.

Warriors 108, Thunder 101 - May 28th, 2016

Game 6 Klay saves Golden State.

Cavaliers 115, Warriors 101 - June 16th, 2016

LeBron and Kyrie force a Game 7.

Warriors 115, Houston 86 - May 26th, 2018

James Harden can’t seal the deal.

Warriors 129, Clippers 110 - April 26th, 2019

Durant: “You know who I am”

Warriors 118, Rockets 113 - May 10th, 2019

“Kick me off the court, boy!”

Raptors 114, Warriors 110 - June 13th, 2019

The last game in Oracle Arena.

Greetings from the Moynihan Train Hall in NYC, where the BATT (Big Ass Train Trip) is about to take us to Washington DC, where we’ll stay three nights at my best friend’s house and watch tonight’s game with excited anticipation.

The Warriors are being picked to win tomorrow but the reality of the situation is that they look very beatable and have lost a lot of their chemistry. The long season can wear any team down and it's looking like that wall could be closing in on the team. Otoh, we all know anything can happen. But I'm looking at how good other teams are playing and I don't see our boys matching up with any of them for the ring unless they are able to regain that rhythm they are known for.
