Dub Nation can put the whole Kuminga saga behind them, so you do not have to read the rest of this comment.

According to Emerman, JK’s camp was holding him out and Kerr and Co were upset about it.

[[ One game after getting replaced in the starting lineup, on Nov. 12, Kuminga exited with what was later diagnosed as bilateral knee tendinitis...

With Kuminga sidelined, the Warriors ripped off an electric second-half comeback. Curry finished with 46 points, and Golden State looked like it rediscovered its flow. Two nights later, again without Kuminga, the Warriors stunned the Spurs behind 49 points from Curry.

The Warriors’ medical staff cleared Kuminga shortly after the second Spurs win. It was around that time that Kuminga’s camp, according to sources, gave the Warriors the impression that he would come back only after the team lost a couple of games without him.

About a week later, the Warriors expected Kuminga to scrimmage during practice to ramp up for a return, but he didn’t participate. The situation didn’t sit well with some within the organization. Kerr expressed frustration at the podium.

“He’s got to tell you where he is,” Kerr said. “I don’t have any clarity.” ]]

While we're dumping all the basketball-adjacent drama in this thread... (skip to avoid Mike Dunleavy on the trade deadline)

Dunleavy gave comments about the trade deadline and state of the team, which were as usual pretty vague, but did include the bizarre claim that Draymond was not in trade conversations. Maybe this is true due to some technicality, but a Giannis offer had to include Jimmy Butler or Draymond Green. Better to no-comment this rather than whatever this is all about.

He concluded by saying GSW still can make a big trade in the summer...

[[ “We’ve got the goods to make deals,” Dunleavy said. “I think the only way we wouldn’t be in the mix is if we gave out assets, young players, all the things you need to get a great player. We still have all that. I think that’s one of the reasons the KP trade is really good for us, similar to Jimmy last year. We don’t feel like we gave up a ton.

“We still have the kind of firepower to move forward and do more deals.” ]]
