so looks like JK and Buddy being traded for Porzingis - does that mean no Giannis - thats sucks!

[Shams] BREAKING: The Golden State Warriors are trading Jonathan Kuminga and Buddy Hield to the Atlanta Hawks for Kristaps Porzingis, sources tell ESPN.

Focaccia Homer's avatar

Was this on anyone's radar? I am so confused (my usual state these days).

Captain Jack's avatar

Well, looks like they rightfully shot us down. Not a bad pivot. Just sucks since I have no idea how much this guy is going to play

Loonatic's avatar

TM3 44 points, 12-17 on threes against the Bucks now. Don't think we'll see any of the folks we might have traded for him do that.

Sabiscrashingout.'s avatar

And Steph and JK are listed as Out vs Suns tomorrow.

Sabiscrashingout.'s avatar

Cavs @ Clippers tonight.

I don't think the traded players will be available to play for for their new teams Garland is injured anyway.

Abaddon's avatar

So when exactly is the deadline again?

GlueAndBold's avatar

Noon dubs time tomorrow

Steph's Ankle's avatar

There is tons of time left on the clock.

Goofus's avatar

Time for a 2-for-1!

- Fitz

AttilaTheHun's avatar

But then Fitz will call the first one a "free" one. Man I hate that.

aayler's avatar

well, we’re all aware of the Dubs record for “clutch” games …

Ando's avatar

Dubs time is light years ahead tho'

Sabiscrashingout.'s avatar

I'm watching this video of Hayes pushing the mascot and I'm so confused why he did this.

lol, there’s a comment saying one day he’s gonna get jumped and won’t see it coming because he doesn’t know what the guy looks like 😁

GlueAndBold's avatar

That's hilarious

vignette17's avatar

Damn, the Jazz will buy out Lonzo. He's literally the perfect backup PG for this team if Jimmy was healthy. Ugh. My guess is he's now en route to Charlotte.

BayesGT's avatar

Thought I saw Lonzo had been having a really bad year

vignette17's avatar

He's not been good for Cleveland. But a backup who can average 7 rebounds, 7 assists and 2.2 steals per 36 and is only 28 years old? This is the first year of his career he has been negative by EPM.

For a min, that's as good as it gets.

GovernorStephCurry's avatar

Trade Kuminga to Dallas for our full pick + salary and forward that to Bucks for Giannis :)

Loon Gehrig's avatar

we don't need our full pick to trade it (and we have the best part (1-20))

Loon Gehrig's avatar

"[Charania]: The Cleveland Cavaliers have agreed to trade Lonzo Ball and two second-round picks to the Utah Jazz, sources tell ESPN. Ball's agent Rich Paul and the Jazz are expected to discuss his future soon."

[Tomer] Zubac is out tonight due to personal reasons, but it is not traded related

fzwinter's avatar

Hmmm....

Zubac plus Chris Dunn for JK works. Dubs would probably have to throw in a pick or two.

vignette17's avatar

Or 4. Clips turned down a pick and a swap for Zu alone earlier this year.

AttilaTheHun's avatar

Why would they trade Zubac? As long as they have Kawhi, they're not tanking.

Sabiscrashingout.'s avatar

I think it's true personal time (he's having a baby).

fzwinter's avatar

That’s got to be hard on his body

Klaymation's avatar

It took several years and tons of effort, but the Mavs have finally matched the Kings' achievement of acquiring Marvin Bagley in place of Luka Doncic.

Loon Gehrig's avatar

"[Charania]:The Los Angeles Clippers, Brooklyn Nets and Toronto Raptors have agreed on a multi-team trade sending Chris Paul to the Raptors and Ochai Agbaji, a 2032 Raptors second-rounder and cash to the Nets, sources tell ESPN."

"[Charania] The Raptors will not require Chris Paul to report to the team and could still discuss trades involving him over the next day. Toronto is now it of the tax. Brooklyn picks up an asset and cash to cover Agbaji's salary. The Clippers clear a roster spot and save $7 million in tax."

2060 breaking BB news - "the animated corpse of Chris Paul will be traded to the suns in a reunion decades in the making. "Iiiiiiiiii, thiiiiiiiinkkkkkk IIIIIIIII CANNNNN stillllll cooomppeettte" whispered the corpse as it attempted to pick skin of this reporter. "

GlueAndBold's avatar

Psst- no reason to think he won’t be alive at that point

cannothoop's avatar

ha, I forget "old" guys were born in the 80s! As you may guess I was not.

AttilaTheHun's avatar

He walks around in State Farm commercials and trees fall on cars a couple of feet from him. Someday, one is gonna hit him. And he has enemies... lots of enemies.

fzwinter's avatar

Everyone Hates Chris

TwoRingTest's avatar

You go out to lunch and the Wizards do .... something.

I get this trade from Dallas' perspective ... get rid of a mistake and move to Cooper Flagg's timeline. Get what assets you can for the rebuild.

But, do the Wiz really think AD/Trae is the start of a rebuild?

belilaugh's avatar

What did it cost the Wizards to get AD? The #30 pick in this next draft, a top 20 protected pick in 2030, and salary filler?

jaxfor3's avatar

Have to wonder if its on the condition Washington gives AD the max on his extension.

TwoRingTest's avatar

More that his salary is an overpay, and he's frequently injured, is what I'm thinking.

BayesGT's avatar

Don’t forget those 3 2nd round picks!

Loon Gehrig's avatar

that's 60% of GPII (GP1.2?)

BayesGT's avatar

As a DC resident I assure you Wizards ownership is only interested in being good enough to get people in seats, they do not care about competing. And it’s very easy to get people in seats because there’s a massive population of transplants who will come out to watch their home town team play (guilty as charged).

GovernorStephCurry's avatar

Wizards should be relocated

AttilaTheHun's avatar

I don't see why they should be relocated (sold maybe) but I bet Baltimore would like to have them back.

GovernorStephCurry's avatar

Terrible transplant fanbase, horrible owner, bad arena.

Give them back to Baltimore

BayesGT's avatar

Fwiw they are upgrading Capitol One (after the owner threatened to move the team to Alexandria which would’ve been a nightmare), and there is a strong local fanbase. Just tough to build up team pride when the team doesn’t give you much to be prideful in.

Sleepy Freud's avatar

Eyes on the prize, Dub Nation!

Loon Gehrig's avatar

https://basketball.realgm.com/nba/draft/future_drafts/team

So we need 2029 and 2031 1sts (maybe 2027, but not as important). How do/can we get them?

Who has more than 1 2029 and/or 2031 pick?

(According to Google):

- Spurs, Nets, and OKC have an extra 2031 1st (but so does SAC)

- OKC, Nets and Jazz have and extra 2029 1st

GlueAndBold's avatar

Man, 95.7 callers are really the bottom of the barrel. "We could swap Kuminga right now for Jaden McDaniels but we not doing nothing!"

LOL

crusty quips's avatar

95.7 callers are pretty bad year-round but the trade deadline is definitely when the most ridiculous callers and takes surface

Zoloft's avatar

Again, love the hosts but gotdang, some of the fans...

crusty quips's avatar

You love the hosts? I don't think they have had good hosts since they got rid of Damon and Ratto a few years back. Willard and Dibs are ok I guess... the less said about Steinmetz and Guru, the better.

GlueAndBold's avatar

Willard is awesome

Zoloft's avatar

I enjoy W&D when they dont have guests.

I honestly enjoy the show less when Guru *is* there, but that could be just me. (edit)

I'm up early in the day and don't mind the hosts.
