Hmmm seems like Kerr is willing to play rookies after all.
Freaking love TJD. His blocks are smooth, his feet are fantastic, and his second jump is lightening. Once they figure out the lob timing it’s all over.
All massive upgrades except the last one, that’s just an incremental one. Because fine wine.
(partial credit - assistant GM) Draft Klay - had just become assistant GM so not sure on involvement
Draft Draymond
Draft Looney
Keep above players+ Curry on team together for 10+ years (Looney not quite there yet)
Draft Barnes
Draft Poole
(partial credit - assistant GM) trade for Bogut - 1 month before officially moving from assistant to full GM, so probably pretty involved
Sign+Trade for Iguodala
Trade for Wiggins + draft pick (Kuminga)
Sign KD
Turn KD leaving into something (DLo -> Wiggins + Kuminga)
Sign Livingston
Sign Barbosa
Sign Dwest
Sign Zaza
Sign McGee
Sign GP2
Sign OPJ
Sign Beli
Sign DDV -- unlike the above this didn't help lead to a championship, but did seem to turn out to be a good signing, so you can disregard it if you want
Hard to find stats on it, but likely in the very top percentiles of success using the 2-way player slots.
probably some other especially good signings I'm forgetting at the moment (edit: I already realized "hire Steve Kerr" was at least one I forgot)
Miscues:
Wiseman
JMG didn't work out
likewise, sometimes other minor role players signed in the past haven't worked out
the majority of late 1st rounders / 2nd rounders that don't work out (or in other words, same as every GM)
When the Aces are essentially what created 13/15 of the rosters (except Curry) that won 4 championships and 6 finals in 8 years, and miscues led to one year where maybe things were a little disappointing, I'm having a hard time understanding how Myer's legacy is "the miscues outweighed the aces"
Having said that -- Is MDJ going to help more than Myers from this point forward? That perhaps is a more interesting question and I'm very open to the possibility and MDJ is off to a promising start. After so many years, it seems (based on what Myers himself has said) he may have become too emotionally attached to the players on the team, which might have ultimately affected his judgement as a GM. I think we can be on board with MDJ having a great start and moving the team in the right direction, without disregarding the historic success Myers did have.
Impressive game. Steph is at full power. Everything clicking plus CP3 leading the bench. This team has become a rebounding machine. TJD, double/double, 4 blocks. He's our Wembanyama. This is all without Klay and Kuminga. They've finally got options.
Yet another example of needlessly hating on Poole.
Placing the blame of our road woes on Poole is based on zero evidence and is contrary to the evidence we do have which puts the blame squarely on it being a statistical anomaly of teams just shooting better despite similar shot quality to at home.
Poole's late-game turnovers last year were *definitely* a factor in the losses, and I don't think we can decisively say that the teams' hot shooting was only variance as opposed to an effect of (perhaps a second-order effect of) turnovers, plus the missed threes, the "trying not to try" on defense, etc.
To be clear: I don't think the losses are squarely on Poole. But it's ignoring obvious evidence to say he doesn't deserve some blame there.
"Poole's late-game turnovers last year were *definitely* a factor in the losses". He didn't say that Poole's turnovers played a factor, he directly placed the blame on Poole for the road woes.
With that being said, while I agree Poole's turnovers played a factor in us losing, its not like he was uniquely turnover prone on the road (he actually averaged less turnovers per game than at home). Furthermore, I find it extremely suspect that people leap to point out how Poole's turnovers played a factor in road losses, but don't mention Draymond's turnovers and complete lack of a scoring skillset. They don't mention Klay's shitty shot selection where he was shooting us out of the gym even when he's missing everything. They don't mention Kuminga's poor offball defense/poor shooting resulting in other teams clogging the lane/poor rebounding.
All of these things (and more) played a factor in our road woes, but people focus on Poole's turnover flaws because fans are like jilted lovers to whom Poole is the "crazy" ex.

< best New Yorker accent >
Hey, Zion, we got your Halloween candy right here ...

That was fun. TJD will have a long career in the League
Third quarter Warriors are back! Love it!
Rank the upgrades...
Poole –> CP3
JMG –> Saric
Wiseman –> healthy GP2
PBJ –> TJD
Rollins –> Podz
2nd year Moody and JK –> 3rd year Moody and JK
34 y.o. Steph –> 35 y.o. Steph
Hmmm seems like Kerr is willing to play rookies after all.

Damn, turns out all that fan fiction was wrong and all it took was for the GM to not draft rookies who sucked ass.
TJD getting minutes is nothing new really, Jordan Bell was getting minutes as a rookie.
Cleared out the Myers mob.
To be fair, Myers was responsible for drafting JK and Moody as well as acquiring GP2.
Sure, but his miscues far outweighed his aces.
Huh?

So Meyers -> Dunleavy #1?
So, great night, only sour note is 8-23 from three from non-Stephs. On a lot of open looks. Need to do better.
Just variance. That’s 35%. 9/23 would e made it 39%
Could watch Lakers v Magic on NBA TV. Tempting.
the Disney cup
Did you come up with that? Pretty pretty good.
Just something me and a basketball friend of mine call it

Get rid of Poole, road woes improved
I agree with you.

A lot more than that went into the improvement this year. But that was certainly part of it.
I guess you could look at it that way. I prefer to think of what we gain from CP3's addition rather than what we gain from Jordan's departure
Both are pretty massive tbh
Total coincidence ... er...
CP3, thank you for joining us
Steph Curry. Man.
Have I mentioned that I have a rationally good feeling about this guy?
Empirically speaking he's pretty good.
I dunno he misses more than he makes, how can that be good?
Not lately he doesn't.
Well….. true.
Would love to see him over 50% again even if fg% is a dumb stat it means he’s absolutely killing it.
IIRC it was game 3 2015 Steph cooked New Orleans on the way to Unanimous MVP.
Steph with 83.73 TS% tonight. That'll do.
the rotations has been on point this year. everybody is moving on a string. such a drastic change from last year.
Memphis drops to 0-4 even with Bane and JJJ scoring 30 each. They are less hateable with Brooks gone but I still like it.
I'm curious how Taylor Jenkins is dealing with it.
Didn't someone pick them to finish 1st in the West? =)
Taylor Jenkins can suck eggs.
Memphis 0-4? Curious.
I didn’t think I could dislike a coach more than his players but I do with Jenkins.
I kinda felt that way about Don Nelson, in the bad Dubs years. The last couple of years, he was just phoning it in.
No Clarke and no Adams = no one to rebound their misses. Also, no Ja to lead their offense.
Steven Adams out for the season -----> this year has been thrown in the toilet
Wow sucks for Adams but also their fans
Not sure EA is going to say it, soooo ...
I < feel the connectivity with > you all.
Whoa whoa this is a family friendly site
Second most fun you can have with your clothes on. After watching the Dubs, of course.
