We had another low turnover game (8). There’s hope for us yet!

Geez, I didn't really notice that Kuminga was having a monster game (28 points in 30 minutes)

I'm no Asher, that's for sure.

You and Asher are not redundant. You each bring skills. 😊

not sure if they can comment at the same time...

All I asked for before the game was for our guys to put up a fight. And they did, so thank you for a good game. Although, it seems that Wiggins is back to another low scoring game (7 points).

podz+kuminga = 51 points

Rook PG played 36 minutes and had 1 turnover. 23 points 10 rebounds. If Klay had shot better Dub woulda taken this

Would rather we focused on not letting other teams score 130 points. 118 should be enough to win.

Expand full comment

I fear that's that not possible in the NBA of today. Offense is so far ahead of defense this year that you are almost obliged to out score the other team.

Expand full comment

Even if true, wouldn't hurt to play better defense and keep teams under 130...

Lost 4th Q 46-37. Giannis had 15 points in the 4th Q while Middleton had 13.

Next game I'd like to see Quinones take Joseph's minutes

Expand full comment

He might very well. Kerr is not really sticking to anything right now (lot of churn in the available players, of course)

*rest of season

Well eventually I'd like to see Moody take Joseph's minutes lol

Expand full comment

Moody would take minutes at the wing rather than the point. We need CP3 back to take Joseph's minutes unless Podz develops more as a PG.

I feel sorry for the kids… great effort.

Expand full comment

I'm happy for them. Not that losing is fun, but they're out there playing minutes that matter, trying to win the game, learning against top-flight NBA players. It's great.

Of course I'd prefer that the Ws win a championship this year. But if that's not happening, my next favorite thing would be the young guys getting a chance to develop into players who can win in the NBA. That would be worth the remainder of this year.

Kids need a coach who actually knows how to maximize their potential

The kids all seemed to have great games to me? Not sure how their potential was diminished tn.

24 for kuminga 7 for Wiggins guess who played more.minutes

Wiggs plays the 3, Kuminga plays the 4. The player who was in for Kuminga was Saric.

What is this hard line on 3 vs 4? Is it a throwback concept?

Ok let’s evaluate:

Kuminga’s D is best on the perimeter.

Wiggins D was best on the perimeter, but he gets beaten far more ofter now, but he can also stall a back down long enough for help to get there (which the team doesn’t do.)

If anything Kuminga is a 2/3 on D and Wiggins is a 3/4.

On Offense They both don’t hit the outside shot at a necessary rate to play the floor spacer so they are both drivers. Kuminga seems to be the better passer and at this point the far better finisher.

Passing and playmaking lean towards a wing vs a big. So the only thing Wiggins really does that would make him more of a 3 than Kuminga is finish poorly at the rim.

If anything Kuminga seems to be a 2 on D and a 3/4 on O while Wiggins is a 3/4 on D and a 0 on O.

Here’s the lineups Kuminga has the most minutes in this season:

Steph, Klay, Loon, Podz, JK

Steph, CP3, Klay, Loon, JK

CP3, Saric, GP2, Moody, JK

CP3, Klay, Saric, Podz, JK

CP3, Steph, Klay, TJD, JK

Corey Joseph, Podz, Klay, Saric, JK (you can tell we’re getting in the weeds now that CoJo is showing up)

CP3, Podz, Moody, Saric, JK

He is clearly playing the 4 in all of these lineups. Nothing oldschool about it. Its him, a center, and usually 3 guards.

Expand full comment

Wiggs doesn’t shoot, handle the ball, or pass any better than JK (I’d argue he’s worse on all counts this season) and the two are similarly athletic and can guard all the same types of players. Saying one is a 3 and the other is a 4 is pretty arbitrary, imo.

Expand full comment

I mean you can argue with Kerr that Kuminga should play 3, but the fact of the matter is that he doesn’t. Kuminga plays the 4 for the team and Wiggs plays the 3 and the 4 depending on lineups. Wiggs played no time at the 4 today, so the only player who got minutes ahead of Kuminga tn was Saric.

Expand full comment

For Asher: why did JK sit for so long!?

Expand full comment

This is all Asher's fault for going to a stupid party. Now, if he had gone to a smart party we might have won. If he had stuck around and given us a full 48 minutes, we might have won. But noooo, he had to go to a stupid party.

Expand full comment

He didn’t start and played 30 minutes. That’s about the max you can expect from a bench guy.

Expand full comment

If Saric and Looney are already in to guard Giannis/Lopez, there's not really a place for Kuminga

Expand full comment

But we started saric and looney the other night to guard DeRozan and vucevic

Expand full comment

Yeah and Wiggins started at the 3 when those two were out there, no?

Just play kuminga 30 mins and stop the damm excuses

Kuminga did play 30 mins…

Lol

He's not a 3

But imagine if he was a 2! Or if he'd grown 4 inches after we drafted him.
