I really don't know where I should post this so I'm putting in both threads.

Shams Charania

Seth Curry intends to re-sign with the Golden State Warriors on Monday to a deal for the remainder of the season, sources tell ESPN. Curry – who shot an NBA-best 45.6% from 3-point range in 2024-25 – joins older brother Stephen on the Warriors for his 12th season in the league.

Given the state of the Warrior offense, he can't get onto the court soon enough.

I liked the part where my wife shouted out GP 2 to the Daiso store clerk, then got to watch a Warriors win in Chase for the first time and watch GP 2 go nuts.

Turns out she isn't a familial live game jinx after all.

I liked the part where Kuminga came back.

I did not like the part where he was shooting 3's but those have to be taken (and made) when they leave you as wide open as the Pels left him. Other than that I felt like he made a bunch of the right reads on offense that others just didn't pay off.

Loondawg got a very nice welcome home ovation.

I was preparing for the worst but appreciated when the clamps finally got applied in the 4th.

Buddy sighting, sort of. Hopefully this is a glimpse of a necessary better future shooting from him cause mid 20% team shooting for half a game is not a winning recipe.

And OKC owns their first round pick.

Unprotected.

Along with four other first round picks from them, one of which has turned out to be Jalen Williams.

As sweeteners in the deal that got them the reigning MVP and Finals MVP for Paul George.

Report from Chase:

1) I did not know how many rows there were in the upper deck, but I do now. We were waaaay up there.

2) My kids were impressed by how many times the Warriors won a challenge or review - and they learned what a flagrant foul is.

3) It was a bummer to not see Steph, but the game was much more competitive and exciting without him.

4) That said, the first half of the second quarter was quite terrible, but we were fortunately buying pizza.

5) Kuminga looked super rusty and terrible, but just as I started to groan when he took threes he started hitting them.

6) Crowd was pretty low-energy, but they did give Looney a nice welcome home.

7) GPII is fun to watch.

8) Draymond versus Zion is also very fun to watch - unstoppable force vs. immovable object.

9) There are a lot of numbers up on the scoreboard, and I was comparing the Warriors shooting % to the Pelicans effective % for most of the game. Took until my second beer to realize that the Pelicans were shooting about 35%.

10) Speaking of beer, I think the prices are about 3 bucks higher at Warriors games than Valkyries games.

11) Gonna have to go back to see Steph. Looking forward to it.

Kawhi had 30 points; Collins had 21 points on 9/10 FGs, 1/2 threes, and 2/2 FTs; Zubac had 19 points on 8/12 FGs and 3/3 FTs; and Harden had 29 points on 5/17 FGs, 2/6 threes, and 17/19 FTs. But the Clippers only had a measly 5 points from their bench.

Meanwhile, Flagg had 35 points on 13/22 FGs and 9/11 FTs, Klay had 23 points on 8/13 FGs and 6/10 threes, Williams had 14 points, and Marshall had 18 points.

Man, he had taken 2 shots the entire 1st half....THEN, his ENTIRE team started looking for him mid-way through the 3rd...it was like old times at DUBS..amazing how he responded....hardly took a dribble burying 6-10 3s...lol MAYBE KIDD IS turning the corner....it was amazing to see his teammates looking for him...and an entire defense keying on him trying to get to his quick -release shot....lol

IT would be the easiest fix for us. but if keeps playing like this, doubt MAVS will let him go...he was scoreless in 8 minutes PT the 1st half, and then, did 23 points in 16 minutes the 2d half on 13 shots, with LA Defense keying on him....

unfortunately for Klay, and for your argument, the "scoreless in the first half" part is more representative of his recent play. I'm sure the mavs would happily let him go even as a salary dump.

LOL RIIIGHT....No doubt, when you are an afterthought in an iso offense and the team goes to you for 2 shots in those eight minutes of the first half, you are not going to do much scoring...but I am sure you knew that because you watch everyone of the MAVS games as I DO....What was interesting, the second half, the ENTIRE TEAM was looking for him....he got 11 shots off in 16 minutes total PT, RALLIED THE TEAM, AND PUT 23 POINTS ON THE BOARD. It was the first time he was the focus of the offense since LUKA left.....it was all surreal, I thought he was back in our system playing DUBS BALL...They won a big game too, so maybe KIDD is finally figuring it out...Of course, the more they utilize him successfully, the slimmer our opportunity to solve our needs...

I’d be inclined to just rest Jimmy and Dray against OKC and move on. We’re going to need them both healthy and engaged while Steph is out and it seems much better to just let them rest and recover a bit.

I was wondering about this a day or two ago. He hasn't even been playing for SCW.

At this point, I think there is no chance he plays with the big league club until he's spent a fair bit of time there.

Whatever his injury is, it seems to be pretty severe.

Some thoughts:

*Pretty game this was not. 9 min in and the Pels were 3/16 for 19% FG. The Dubs were 5/20 for 25%. And the Dubs followed that up by going 1/11 on their next 11 shots, 0/7 on 3PA.

*Loon pushed Zion out of the way of landing on Jimmy on the ground in Q1. I love me some Loon, always doing the little things. And then Butler got undercut later.

*JK had some pretty passes that weren't converted to assists in the first half. But I was ultimately disappointed in his performance. His shot selection was terrible despite two Q4 3PMs - he should never be shooting more 3Ps than 2Ps. And his defense was pretty terrible too. He had a sequence where he turned a 1 on 1 on offense into a fadeaway over a 7 footer from the FT line. He followed that up by allowing a fastbreak 2 on 2 on defense to be converted into an open layup that he also fouled on. He got backed down by Saddiq Bey twice into easy layups once with a foul. And yet his boxscore looks fine. I'm still of the opinion January 15 cannot come soon enough.

*But it's not just JK. Jimmy is the only Warrior I'm confident in game to game. GPII was incredible today, but might have a goose egg next game. Dray plays great defense, but he'll occassionally have disastrous clunkers on offense like today. Would the Warriors be a worse team if you had Lauri instead of Draymond? I do think so....but I go back and forth approximately every time I think about it. It sure would look different.

*OKC is going to beat us by approximately a million.

Agree about JK’s game, but maybe some of those bad mid-rangers were just him playing to the audience of one Joe Dumars :)

With the lack of the Pel’s interior defense, I would’ve expected JK to just repeatedly drive and convert inside. For all of JK’s talk of wanting to be a featured scorer, he just didn’t seem to do it tonight.

And on Tuesday I suspect JK will get his wish of being the featured scorer on a lottery team during a futile loss.

The worst JK play was the lazy pass from the back court to Podz who wasn't looking for the ball. Alvarado picked up the ball and nailed an open three from the top of the circle to put the Pels ahead in the third quarter. Might have been the fault of both guys but in that circumstance, you just bring the ball up yourself unless you're certain that your teammate is looking for the ball.

Agree about January 15. Looking over at the Pelicans bench with Murphy and Jones got me salivating about possibilities.

With Steph out and JB pretty banged up, I wouldn't be surprised if JB and Dray both rested against OKC and we just gave the JV squad another opportunity to get some extended minutes. Might be a good time to sign Seth - we could have really used him tonight, particularly after Richard got banged up and left the game.

Expand full comment
Fantom's avatar

Well he couldn’t bring the ball up himself because he was the in bounder. They both are incredibly at fault.
