Has anyone seen this? It's JB's post game press conference where he talks about acting as JK's mentor. What I really like about it is he said the entire team is behind JK to play his game and that he'll do anything if it helps them win. At 6:24, he said he bet Draymond that his free throw percentage will be better than Steph's.
Not to be a Negative Nancy but if there was a Laker's Loser poll: F marcus smart with that bs shoulder hook throw on Steph and all the other reckless and flopping plays.
Yeah there's been discussion of whether it's the biggest lineup ever. I noticed at the end of the first game they had KD defending SGA not because it makes sense in the typical sense, but he was the most agile available. And SGA juked back and forth and got KD moving one way and boom: foul. Maybe a guy SGA's size is better able to avoid that foul. BUt then again, it's SGA, everyone gets baited into fouling him.
I wonder what Lebron’s message was tonight because him being completely emotionless the whole game definitely has to mean something. He knows damn well the spotlight is going to be on him at some point. Of course I’m not expecting him to be a cheerleader when he’s injured but it really seems like he made it to a point to be completely still and disconnected the whole night
> Of course I’m not expecting him to be a cheerleader
Why not? I know LeBron is an epic diva, but it’s pretty normal to want to support your teammates from the bench. Steph does it like breathing. Even taciturn ol’ KD was breaking out the pompons all night ior his teammates in OKC.
It's one game. Hachimura has been pretty consistently better for the past few years... not a lot better, but tangibly so. JK absolutely has the chance to make that ancient history, but let's not crown him just yet, haha
This is true, but Rui is 4 years older and has been in the league 2 more season than JK so it would make sense that he has been better to this point in time. Perhaps this is the year JK pulls ahead!
If Jimmy wasn't on the team to balance it out, AR and Luka's foul grifting would have made me pull my hair out. JB saving my blood pressure just like he saves possessions late in the shot clock
The one thing that really, really stood out to me tonight was how decisive and under control Kuminga looked all over the floor... it's one game, of course, but he looked similarly under control in the preseason. And his shots going in (except for that putback dunk attempt) definitely make the stats look better, but his shot mechanics have looked way more compact and confident to my untrained eye too, so I'm 100% expecting he'll land at better than the sub 33% he's been stuck at the last two years, and maybe above 35%.
Totally agree. He made an adjustment in his shooting and it actually looks very good.
I am predicting a big leap in his 3pt % and no trade.
He was definitely playing hard and guarding Luka.
The one negative was I was surprised how easily Luka beat him off the dribble considering JK ‘s advantage in quickness. Not sure his positioning on D was great and Luka shouldn’t be able to go by him in almost a straight line drive so easily.
I'd love that too. But we need TJD to kick Marcus Smart's butt and remind him that he ought not play so recklessly and just plain dirty, especially against Steph Curry.
Jimmy has really made it a mission to mentor JK and if he can somehow turn him into that guy for us he is going to go down as one of my favorite non Steph/Klay/Dray Warrior of all time
Is that real? Any cites? Not arguing, just hadn't heard of that. If so, jimmybucks is more than earning his bigface money. Getting JFK to turn the corner into a real NBA player would be a huge deal.
The clip cut off too quickly. After Billy Dick sits down, Kuminga turned to him and said “Damn dude! I’m in year 5 and still waiting for Steve to give me a game ball.”
I know you're being goofy but if anyone was wondering, by my understanding it is tradition in the league to give the game ball to a rookie after they score their first NBA points.
This tradition is (ostensibly) what was at the root of that whole drama between Giannis and the Pacers was about a couple seasons ago after he dropped a career high 64 points.
That play where he got the steal, ran out in transition and gave Payton an alley oop on a platter... man... this guy looks like he's gonna fit in real, real nicely.
That early game, Houston went with a lineup that has to be the tallest that I've ever seen. I literally can't think of a taller average height lineup in the history of basketball. Amen Thompson at a tiny 6'7", then Durant at the alleged 6'11", then Adams Sengun and Jabari Smith all at least that tall. Ever seen taller?
Honestly Marcus Smart should get a retroactive suspension. I will own it that Draymond has deserved his suspensions. But if he gets them, so too should Smart and Dillon Brooks for the kind of stuff that looks like it is intended to injure. Pure horseshit play out there. Could have straight up ended Steph's year with that suplex.
At least Steph hit him in the nuts again like he did back in the 2022 Finals.
(or in either or both instances, Smart was flopping and just pretending he got hit in the junk... either way, the refs aren't buying it)
I called that out as being the eventual revenge move for whatever the hell Smart was attempting to do earlier on, but I didn't expect it to happen in the same game lol
Warriors were essentially one made FG from to going 50/40/90 as a team. That’s like having a team full of Steph Curries.
* A team full of Seth Curries, did you mean?
The benefits of having three spread 5’s on our roster. It opens up the drives so much more which also increases our efficiency kicking out to 3.
Also love ur videos.

Watch this at the very beginning for Steph's response when the press (Slater?) asks him if it's plausible.

This guy is a great addition. He makes everyone better, and I'm here for it.
Not to be a Negative Nancy but if there was a Laker's Loser poll: F marcus smart with that bs shoulder hook throw on Steph and all the other reckless and flopping plays.
At least we can forget about this loser team till February.
Yeah, that reminded me of Kelly Oylnyk ripping Kevin Love’s shoulder out of its socket. Such fuckin’ bullshit.
It'd be a unanimous vote.
Honestly, forget Giannis. Joe should throw a bag at Noah Eagle and get him on our home broadcasts.
Holy cow rockets are big. KD and AThompson as the guards lol. Then Sengun Forward, Jabari Smith Forward, Adam’s center.

Listen to latest episode of the Ringer’s Mismatch - David Jacoby laid out a prediction of exactly this type of passive-aggressive pattern from LBJ.
> Of course I’m not expecting him to be a cheerleader

Can't convince me Rui is a better player than Jk, which most believe is the case before season started

Amazing stat of the night, Dubs shot more free throws than the Lakers: 29-28

I was giving him props all game long.
The really good thing is we won't see these LA Fakers again till February.
Actually, I'd love to see them tomorrow. We need the wins.
I'd love that too. But we need TJD to kick Marcus Smart's butt and remind him that he ought not play so recklessly and just plain dirty, especially against Steph Curry.
This makes me happy. Every little thing helps.
"The fouls...the fouls"

Jimmy said so in his postgame interview https://youtu.be/R9chSai0dg4
Awesome sauce. Thank you. Watched the whole thing, including the signoff of "hate you, buddy".
As ridiculous as Luka was, thought Kuminga did a good job on him. Didnt bite on many of his pumps and only got grifted a couple times
I thought Kuminga Doncic a bit too aggressively, and ended up letting Luka get by him and collapse the defense too easily...
Maybe, could just be selective memory on my part
Laker fans are pretty much undefeated in their overreactions rn:

Not even stressed, once we get our 40 year old with sciatica back we’ll be super scary!
*he’ll be close to 41 when he returns.
🤣
Game ball goes to….

I’m being Goofus, not Goofy. That’s ok, we’re often confused. Yeah, game balls can be for milestones or big performances.
Noted
Dayang Goofus!! :P LOL (but not Willy Dick?)
I like that too!

It’s interesting is that with all that size they don’t have a true 7-footer.
They said it was the second tallest, behind a Mavs lineup by one inch, but a wash if KD's taller than listed

He should have been ejected.
His year and possibly his career. The NBA has to put a stop to this kind of thing.
