On working for the Warriors
Some people in the Warriors organization reached out to me a while ago. They said they were fans of my videos and wanted to discuss working together. This was of course very flattering. It was also a bit of a relief to hear that I was not officially in trouble with GSW for exposing game plans, etc.
However, how would it work practically speaking? They would require of course editorial control and I assumed they might ask for perhaps nicer graphics and presentation, and for the videos to be less eccentric. I imagined working all night on a video and having it returned with a list of notes like “why did you insert the shark music with the sad French accordion, unnecessary” and “can you use proper fancy diagramming software and not a digital crayon”? I imagined them taking weeks to approve a video while Legal checked whether we would be sued by the makers of Magnum P.I.
I wondered if they might even want to pre-approve a script. This would be beyond inconvenient since I don’t have any script at all. I assemble some interesting clips with a rough idea of what I want to say, and then vooom.
So I countered with, “Can you get me alternate video angles of bench celebrations?” And the answer was YES, so I realized I had to give this thing a try.
Before we finalized the agreement, I tried to anchor expectations. I emphasized: “By working with me, don’t expect to make money. My style of video is never going to get a lot of clicks. But the people that it reaches are going to understand basketball a little better and, I hope, love the game a little more.” And they said, “That’s exactly what we want.” Then we shook hands. Actually it was Adobe Sign, but anyway…
So, we agreed that as a trial, I would make three videos for the Warriors YouTube channel, and the first one is below. I am free to continue making videos for myself.
And in the end, after all my worries, they asked for exactly zero editorial changes to the video content. So let’s hope this is the start of a beautiful relationship.
Now to work on getting the secret camera feeds of the celebrations…
On to the video
In this episode, we highlight Steph Curry’s historic season at age 37. In the 2025-12-14 Portland-Golden State game, Steph broke multiple records including surpassing Michael Jordan in most 40-point games after turning 30. The video analyzes the teamwork and plays setting up Curry’s scoring outburst, focusing on the zipper cut. The episode concludes with a holiday version of the traditional celebration audit.
Starring Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, Trayce Jackson-Davis, Jimmy Butler, Quinten Post, Buddy Hield, Brandin Podziemski, De’Anthony Melton, Moses Moody, Seth Curry, and Pat Spencer as Magnum P.I. With Michael Jordan, Jerami Grant, Toumani Camara, Shaedon Sharpe, Kris Murray, Deni Avdija.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THIS IS SO COOL
Whoa! That's amazing and congrats!
However, given the timing of The Email, I cannot help but think this all but confirms that you are, in fact, Steve Kerr.
