Otto Porter Jr has been an absolute baller these last few games. Crushing it on defense, clutch rebounds in key moments, *and* throwing more daggers than a Shiv build in Slay the Spire! Dude could probably get a max contact if his availability continues to be this reliable. But would a max contact bring him smiles of joy like that?
So happy you broke down that GP2 -> OPJ pass on the broken play... wasn't sure what the heck happened live. Those three shots by OPJ felt so much like Klay... he was doing his best #11 impression... giving us a sample for what's to come...
Bjelica looks like he is covering both contintents w/ his 3pt celebration, right hand has the Euro thumb + 2 finger three and the left with the OK3 sign.
OPJ seemed like a great pickup at the time as the only real question mark was regarding his ability to stay healthy and so far he has met or exceeded expectations. I don't know if it factored into the off season thinking or not, but in retrospect realizing that the pandemic wasn't over and that that would place even more of a premium on depth was, or would have been, light years ahead. I shudder to think were the Warriors would be right now if they had traded away all their assets for a couple of big name "proven winners" who then ended up missing significant court time. That's the territory the Lakers are in right now.
Unlike a lot of teams, just because he’s playing great on both ends of the Court doesn’t mean they’re going to ramp up his minutes and ride him into the dirt
Makes me hope he wants to stay on in a Livingston “preserve the body and prolong he career” bench role instead of cashing in looking for starter money.
As much as I would like that, I can't see it happening. The Warriors have non-bird rights which, I think, limits them to offering up to 120% of his current salary and if healthy, he is worth a lot more than that.
yeah the way OPJ is playing I'd expect multiple teams to offer him multiple years at the full MLE, so he'd have to give up on a pretty hefty chunk of change to stay with the Dubs
The proven winner notion seems so silly to me. Like nobody is a champion until they are. No one claims CP3 isn't valuable because he's never won a championship yet somehow other players are knocked because they aren't? It all feels like made up nonsense. Good players are good players.
Dubs are handling OPJ beautifully. What matters is having him healthy and in a groove come the playoffs. If so, he’s an incredibly valuable player — a poor man’s KD who stretches the floor, rebounds and blocks shots — for 15-20 minutes a game.

Wait! Enough people here are familiar with Haikyuu!! that you can just casually drop a mention of it into an E1P? Cool. Also, I'll just leave this here:
Otto’s smile rivals Wiggs smile. I keep thinking there is something special brewing with this team. If we can integrate the injured guys with the new guys, this team could be very, very special. Stay healthy all.
That's the smile who has been doing the same job for a long time, but with a change of scenery (new supervisor, new company, etc) is realizing that he actually enjoys what he does rather than just doing it for the paycheck.

United Nations of THREEE
Yeah, box and one is going get retired to the High School playbook (where it belongs) if run against this Warriors squad
Nah, just have to professionalize it
Nice to know we have another closer just waiting for his name to be called
"He IS European"

Couldn’t they give him the TPMLE? Projected at $6.1M next season.
And only 28… if he stays healthy, he’s getting 50M/4 years for a starting spot

Hell yeah!!
(I did a double take at the mention, too, but I *did* recommend that show a few months back, so maybe people took me up on it...)
So I am curious (of both you and Eric): what drew to find Haikyuu!!? Volleyball is my first sport so I kinda found it by accident...

That smile says: My game has finally arrived on the Big Stage. How many big games did he play in with the Bulls?

I suspect it's also the smile of a guy that for the first time in a long time is playing completely healthy.
