loved the phrase '"explosive stop" ....reminded me of one of the best players at going full speed and coming to a quick stop and jump straight up -- World B Free, he got a lot of foul calls when the defender chasing would have his momentum slam into Free's sudden stop.
It's an explanation and yet it isn't when you show how a Certain Guy gets open at midcourt and flings it up after holding it for .4 seconds and it goes in. Anyone here ever TRY that? It's really really really hard.
How do you recognize the Klay Play so fast? I've seen it so many times in games, plus E1Ps, etc, but when it actually happens I still just feel like, "looks like we've got some off-ball motion and here comes a guy to—oh wow, there's the shot!"
Which, like, there's some kind of off-ball screen or split more plays than not, so telling them apart is not easy.
I’m not sure, I think the formation just looks different to me. It’s not quite the shape of the triple split, and it always starts with the small-small pindown.
By the way, the play is signaled with a Fist so I should probably start calling it Fist, but I just can’t stop calling it the Klay Play even though he hasn’t run it in two years, snuffle
If it’s after a play stoppage, the team doesn’t have to signal it. I’ve seen Dray signal it to make sure people know the play. I don’t know why teams don’t know it. They should definitely know the vanilla version… all the counters were installed this year and do make the play much less obvious.
And I doubt the scouts have your dulcet tones combined perfectly with soothing, optimistic music when showing their film. Maybe the Clippers would remember the scouting report and recognise the Klay Play if they did!
lmao that was Paul George's pull up Steph stuffed for the breakaway layup
Outstanding, as always.

"Steph is Wide-Open.... Wide-Closed."

Who signals the play? When and Where is that done? And why does the other team not see it and know what’s coming?

Thank you a sir for educating me!
“Quick, it’s the end of the quarter, fist em Klay!”
Hahahahhahaha. Thank you
2 more months! In an ideal outcome…
Great video Eric! I hope you charge more than 5 bucks to let the Rockets and Lakers watch.
Teams have much more experienced advance scouts to write down all the plays, but none of them have my sexy pug face.
