Context aside, that dunk was one of the most incredible jams I've seen in any NBA game. Even many dunk contest performances are less earth-shattering.
Now, maybe it's not the most impactful when you consider the point in the game, the stakes, and the level of competition, but still.
(On a related note, I'd like to think that Wiggins' dunk on Doncic last WCF was so forceful that it's responsible for the Mavs plummeting all the way out of the play-in.)
Here's to Kuminga unleashing an even more powerful chaos dunk in these playoffs.
I'm thinking of forming a committee to investigate whether the treatment for my brain hemorrhage due to witnessing that dunk should be to become one with the earth... or the edibles. I may have to run out to the parking lot and wave my towel around to recruit committee members.
Thanks for the smiles and the laughter this season, Eric. I think your commentary on the ''Explain'' series was worth the subscription on its own. Well-done, and, truly, GREAT STUFF, my friend.
Hilarious. Now that we're inside the minds of opposing players, I'd like to re-second the suggestion that you do an audit of opponents' reactions to the things Warrior players are doing (e.g. long Steph 3, Kuminga dunk, Poole herky-jerky drive and finish, Klay heater). It is time.
It must really suck to be a Timberwolves fan. The drama in their last game (a win!) with Gobert/Anderson and McDaniels has got to hurt morale, and then they'll be playing the Lakers with two of their former players, DLo and Vanderbilt, contributing a lot to the Lakers' success. And the cupboard is bare after losing 4 first rounders to pick up Gobert, in addition to Walker Kessler, who looks like a keeper in the league. Once eliminated, they can look forward to watching Wiggins and Kuminga move up in the playoffs knowing they were fleeced in the DLo deal. How long until Ant Man requests a trade to get away from that circus?
Even if they lose, they'll get another shot against the winner of 9 (Pels) / 10 (OKC). No McDaniels and Naz Reid being out for the season is probably worse than losing Rudy for a game.
Gobert is hurt anyway, he wasn't going to help them in LA other than take fouls against AD.
I really wish we had done more to acquire Reid and his bird rights at the deadline while he was still on his rookie deal and Gobert was still their long-term center.
Looks a lot like 50/40/90 to me, but then I’m a nerd who thinks both FG% and base 10 round number thresholds are silly stats that should be thrown in the trash. 😊
He is punished for shooting more threes, oh well. He's the best shooter of all time. The stats will catch up. Larry Bird wasn't aware of 50/40/90, I'm sure they'll invent a better stat someday and look back and see that Curry achieved it more times than anyone.
Yeah that should be 50/40/90, if a player takes 99% of there shots from 3 and shoots 49% they should not miss out on a stat someone shooting 51% all from 2 gets... just dumb narratives

You do know that is 2x a lot of work you are asking for....but, yeah, it would be awesome ...lol
He could do it in lieu of the celebration audit. Straight across trade = no extra work. 🙂

I really do feel bad for their fans. Amazing to think they peaked at the 2022 play-in championship.
They can also watch DLo move up in the playoffs... Ant is going to get his max extension, wait 1-2 years and then request out...
lollol

What happened to Naz Reid? I knew he didn't play the other day but never heard he was hurt.
Fractured his wrist not that long. Got fouled going up for a dunk/layup attempt and when he landed, braced his fall with his hand =\.
Thanks. I remember now. But don't think I knew it was fractured.
I don't know about everyone else, but I am pumped up to have Lester Q and Gui Santos on 2-way contracts next year. Playoffs are pretty cool, too.
I'd try Jayce Johnson in the Summer League, after spending two months shooting FTs day and night. The kid knows about rebounding.
Was that decided or is it just your speculation?
it's just speculation at this point. Last year, the 2-ways were picked on the last day of camp, IIRC. But, I too am hoping that Gui gets a 2-way.
Damm I forgot about gui
Steph just missed a second 50-40-90 season.

That must have been frustrating for Steph because it was always ‘in his radar’.
.579 from 2
.427 from 3
.915 from the stripe

It took baseball over 100 yrs to acknowledge that RBI may not be a great indicator. So mainstream basketball media still has a couple decades to go
Baseball jazz and the constitution
Wait, you don't think that the constitution is a real sport?
As an offensive performance indicator
Shoulda gone 18/18 from the field yesterday, what a bum
E1Ps just to get better and better and wittier and wittier. Thanks.
But there are Congolese lions!
Ticket prices double for Kings games vs Warriors games.

A fine E1P ending to the regular season.
Now what is the DNHQ a post season equivalent of flipping the switch and going pro mode?
Haha, i like this gentle poke and nudge ;)
Best E1P yet! Loving the Sunset Blvd narrative stylings.
