Broke my heart to see Lolakers, another LBJ mercenary team, bite the dust; should have consulted with Gentry to find out how difficult/frustrating it was to keep a healthy Davis on the court all those years in New Orleans. Dang those HOMEGROWN-core Warriors led by ET Cury who robbed him of the 6-ring legacy he desperately sought...Looks like Nets-Bucks is going to be bigger than the East Conference Tittle Series, and, for all practical purposes, even bigger than the NBA Finals Series. Methinks only the Giannis-led team can stop the HARDEN/KD/IRVING Mercenary team from winning the title it was built for...
Somewhat crazy stat which came to me today - Steph has only lost 4 playoff series (I think he's win 19 if my calculations are correct) in his entire career. Each of those was to really good or great teams - the Lob City Clippers, the 2013 Kawhi-Duncan Spurs (who were a second away from beating the big 3 Heat to win the title), the 2016 Cavs with LeBron, Kyrie and Love and the 2019 Raptors who were the best defensive team I've seen in quite some time. And all of those series were really really close - 6 tough games to the Raptors and Spurs, and 7 super close games to the Cavs and Clippers.
That's a hell of a playoff resume. I know his somewhat late prime (for all-time greats) plays a big role in this, but still.
Watching the Lakers playoff run this year reminds me how great the Dubs were. When you’re a defending champion favored to repeat, and thus judged by chips alone, its very difficult to prevail every year against the field. So many things can go wrong (Steph injury ‘16, Iggy injury ‘16, KD injury ‘17, KD injury ‘19, Klay injury ‘19). Just hoping to get back in that conversation.
I'm surprised Kuzma didn't step up a bit more - he seemed like he was on the verge of becoming a star a couple of years ago but he's tailed off. And Lakers don't seem to think too highly of Montrezl Harrell to give him any meaningful minutes.
I mean, it happens for one game every year or two, the All-Star Game, where defense be damned regardless. Remember how fun this year was because Steph and Dame did just decide to pull up and drop bombs from where-the-fuck-ever? Yeah.

I'll be rooting for KD. The hate some Warriors "fans" have for him is baffling.

Dame was eating clutch for breakfast. What was that game
That's what you get when Nikola Jokic plays a high-powered offense and bad defense in the playoffs lol.
And Dame and CJ do the same (only CJ stank it up on O as well).
And Denver was running shitty possessions & missing bunnies in crunch time... but still somehow staying ahead. Weird game.
lol, MPJ forgot to put on clothing for the post-game presser.
Non-LBJ Lakers starters shot 3-17 tonight. Not a lot of depth on that roster.

IIRC, I got some pushback here before the LAL play-in game for noting that Dennis Schröder "low key sucks." Maybe I was giving him too much credit?
I believed we were gonna win that game because of this and their lack of depth. It always funny to me when people referred to the lakers as "stacked"
They looked good on paper but not so much on the actual court. Their offseason acquisitions were kind of bad this year

It'll never happen but I'd like to see Steph and Dame in the same backcourt, defense be damned

I want to see Steph, Dame and Klay at the 3 in game 7 against the Nets. They'll probably make 30 3's between the 3 of them
underestimate
and CJ craps the bed. Dame you need a new partner in crime lol
Can't imagine why Dame gave up the ball in that situation.
"Lebron's not going to go down without a fight, he never has"
Ok I guess the 2011 finals doesn't exist
or the 2018 finals? the only fight Lebron gave past game 1 was with a clipboard
He averaged 34-8.5-10-1.0-1.3 on 62% TS. He def put up a fight. One person can only do so much
Well if he’d been half the GM as he was a player...
Lol, yeah but Lebron basically got jumped that year so I won't give him too much crap for that series
I guess LeBron's shoulders just aren't big enough with AD out.
Klay's 11 3s was still more impressive though
Probably won't be as memorable if they lose tonight
Uh oh, 3pt playoff record watch for Dame
Denver blew it twice now. If Portland finishes the job here they're winning in 6
Lillard. OMG.
Alright man, Dame really has a thing for the clutch
Dame time! Beats buzzer again to set up 2nd OT. 50 points on 21 shots.
Looks like CP3's starting to break down
