Assuming the heart condition isn't anything serious, Butler for me. Bouknight's one intriguing thing is his ability to finish at the rim. Otherwise, too much dribbling and tunnel vision for me. "Constantly dribbling around [traps] to get a shot".... Misses open teammates and takes tough contested 2s"... we agreed we want high IQ right? His defense is passable, at best.
Also, there's redundancy with JP while being a worse version of JP. Unless this guy has some crazy work ethic that we can't see from the videos, I'd be really sad to see him taken at #7.
Agreed re:JP. Given limited access to the draftees, it is very helpful to compare their scouting videos to those of our on-roster prospects, as well as their NBA-level highlight videos.
My vote is for bouknight…it’s been nearly 2 weeks and it doesn’t seem like Butler has passed the medical exams, which doesn’t leave me optimistic that he’s draftable.
If it wasn't for the medicals, it would be Butler in a landslide. But if my aunt had wheels, she'd be a bicycle. I still vote Butler, but he's behind a whole bunch of players now.
I'm unreasonably high on Butler -- the handle, shooting off the dribble & elite C&S, playmaking, defense, plus he's young for a junior at 20. Really only knock on him is his short little arms, and his heart condition. Bouknight seems like a boom or bust type, which is fine but not what we need right now, and I think Butler still has some upside to dream on. If it wasn't clear I'm voting Butler.
I am of the stern belief that a big blockbuster trade is going to happen involving the Dubz...probably a 3 team deal. There are going to be a good handful of teams that are going to want to shakeup their lineups, and some others that want to build thro the draft.
So, you believe the Dubs will send Wiggins plus some combination of picks/Wiseman away for an All-star? Sounds interesting in theory, don’t see it working in practice. 2 reasons: I think the Dubs would be overpaying to bring someone in because other teams under value Wigs and Wiseman. And, I think the Dubs salary structure requires them to utilize cheap rookie contracts to fill out their roster.
This might be a worse choice than the first matchup. I'll go with Butler anyway, just because I don't trust Bouknight. Even at 14, I think I'd sooner go with Tre Mann if we're drafting score-first ball hogs. I know it's fun to dream on dynamic athleticism, but I don't see that as what the Warriors need, and we drafted that dream last year (albeit at a different position).
Bouknight. Our defense was >> our offense last year, Bouknight can get to the cup and draw fouls. Can help now and potential for much more. Re Butler: Heart issues should scare us. That’s my medical opinion.
I agree its a 6 man top tier and that each guy after that is a notch below with some flaws or risks. Assuming that none of the top 6 drops, #7 has to be — in my view — taken with an eye toward fit. That eliminates K. Johnson & Mitchell — and leaves Wagner, Bouknight & Moody. Duarte gives you everything at 14 that Moody gives you at 7. So, the choices are, IMO, either Wagner or Bouknight. Go Bouknight if you think you can nab Kispert or Williams at 14. Or go Wagner and then Duarte at 14.
Bouknight
Bouk
Bouknight over Butler.

Bouknight purely due Butlers health
I can't imagine the 16-17 Warriors facing off against either PHO or MIL... Dubs in 3
That team was one of the greatest of all time so you could say that about a lot of opponents lol
I’d argue the greatest of all time. Also in the conversation: ‘72 Lakers, ‘83 Sixers, ‘97 Bulls.
2014-15 warriors are smacking both lol
Our injured 2019 finals team would probably win too

I vote for Bouknight. Butler should basically be DQed given his medical status.
Fears of Hank Gathers (R.I.P.)...... my vote for J.Bouknight, besides another James to pair with Wiseman :{)>

Seems to me there's a consensus Top 6 and then about 10 guys who "we don't want at #7, but we would love at #14".
My thought is that you are 1000% correct.
