Ok, which of the tank squads from last season will emerge to relevancy (defined as having a shot at making the play-in, or better)? Horror shows from last year:
East: Pacers, Pistons, Magic
West: Kings, Blazers, Rockets, Thunder
Special Category - New Tank Squads: Jazz, Spurs
Extra Special Category - Accidental Tank: Lakers
Wow, that’s 10 teams, will a third of the league be unwatchably terrible?
IMHO: The Pistons and Blazers have improved enough that they may be able to nibble at contention. Certainly they have enough interesting players that they could be fun to watch. The Kings could improve on their 30-52 record but I doubt they’ll get close to the play-in. The rest are looking to remain pretty dismal.
Kerr and others have recommended a shorter NBA season. I am wondering if this would decrease the number of injuries. Or the number of players missing games?
For all of his athleticism and potential, I have some worries about JK's attitude, BBIQ and commitment to putting in the work. I took a bit of flack during summer league when I suggested that he seemed to lose focus during the game, only to have my opinion confirmed later by Draymond. JK is more of a 1-on-one player a la KD, who would fit best as the #1 scorer rather than as a cog in the Dubs' machine. Baldwin and Santos have much better BBIQs and would fit into the offense better. If either of them make a big showing early in the season, I could see JK becoming trade bait, sending him away for salary cap relief and draft picks. Similarly, if one or more of Donte, McClung and Ryan prove to be capable 6th man scorers, we might see Poole traded. Either of these scenarios might include Wiggins.
To be clear, I'm not calling for these moves, simply speculating on what moves the FO might make given the cap situation and all the players up for extensions.
Andre Iguodala on Jonathan Kuminga: “…he took some licks from Stephen A., I don’t know how warranted they were…cos from what I heard he been doing what he supposed to do this summer.”
This has some nice x's and o's for all our E1P withdrawals...

I feel like we have hit the peak (or should I say valley?) off season lull.
Days till preseason tracker: 25

First half of senior year intense. Can't wait for Dubs basketball to start up again.
