last night of games before the All star break - 3 Games in all

--> Washington beat the Timberwolves - thats good for the warriors

--> Suns and clippers just got underway - clippers leading 12-5 with 7:40 in first quarter - unfortunately one has to win even though I want both to lose

--> Bucks beat the bulls

I really do think Love would be a good addition. Defensive rebounding has been a huge issue, and he can still grab boards with the best of them. Plus it will help the veterans' mentality to add another vet piece. He gives another big body who can bang with centers if needed. Basically souped-up Bjelica.

And the Warriors have been linked to him multiple times in the past, so they will definitely inquire. Just have to hope he's their choice. But the Lakers would not shock me, even if it's the worst option for him with Bamba/AD/LBJ/Vanderbilt/Rui at the 4/5.

Notable from Santa Cruz:

- first appearance of one A. Lamb, double-double, good efficiency.

- 10 rebs, 4 ast, +17 in 23 min. for Jayce Johnson. Did he read me?

- Injury for PBJ, very much alike Curry's one.

Wise got 24 minutes tonight in his Detroit debut, for 11 points and 5 rebounds. Good for James.

Cut Iggy! Sign Lamb/Love and let Ty play out his two way until GP2 returns from injury!

Love's January splits are ugly.

30% FG, 23% from 3.

Thumb injury, supposedly, but his Dec numbers were fine. Small sample size or ongoing problem?

If the lakers can stay healthy they will make some noise after the ASB. That roster is very solid top to bottom

Love getting bought out.

But .555 TS% this year even with 35.6% 3pt on 8.6 3ptA per36.

I guess he'd pull more rebounds than JMG, but not sure he'd be a clear upgrade at that spot.

Lakers beat the Pelicans 120-102. Pels fall to 30-29 while the Lakers move to 27-32.

The only game the Lakers lost with their new and improved roster was against the Blazers in Portland. Lillard went Dame Time mode against the Lakers in order to beat them.

Hope they don't party too much.

Lakers are putting Beasley and Vanderbilt in the starting lineup and have Schroder, Brown Jr., and Hachimura on the bench. None of them are in double digits tonight, but DLo's already having a big impact on offense tonight.

Ruh-roh! PBJ suffered a left leg injury in G League tonight. Doesn't look too bad in video, but IANAD: https://www.nbcsports.com/bayarea/video/patrick-baldwin-jr-sustains-apparent-left-leg-injury-santa-cruz-game

Lakers up on Pels 55-51 at the half… at this point I’m just firmly rooting against the Lakers cuz I don’t want to have to deal with worrying about them with a healthy AD & LeBron in the play in.

Dalton Johnson article says Andre has ramped up his workouts and is expected to be back on the court shortly after the break. That would be welcome…
