So I was watching this years Klay highlights and getting SUPER excited about next season Klay! And then about next seaon Poole!! And then about next season Wiggs!!! And then I couldn't decide what I'm most excited about... so I thought to ask DNHQ the opposite to balance my yin and yang. What are you MOST concerned about for next season? For me? Draymond starts to enter his physical decline.

Are we there yet?

Nothing to do? There’s still bball. How about critiquing the Liberty defense for me.

Okay, so a guilty pleasure of mine is going over to sbnation to bask in the sadness of Silver Screen and Roll. A Plague upon their house.

But then I came across this article and I just had to share it.

If you’re a fan of Josh Hawley you might not want to read it.

Sorry, i know posting a link from that other place is a bit of a no no but it’s pretty funny sports farce

Well hot damn. 2nd week in a row with three comments on the weekly top comments summary.

Question is: why?

Changing my name from Richard to (w/e TF this is) is the obvious reason. Invoking a true name is a historically powerful way to unleash potential, magic or otherwise.

Length of comments? Perhaps. My “11 Thoughts” exegesis was longer than some of Duby’s regular columns.

Sudden analytical genius appearing? Not likely.

Utter destruction of any hope that TW island was anything more than a temporary sand bar? Nothing like a DNHQ flaunting dis to get a power up. Especially when you are so right (as I am) and DNHQ fanbois are so wrong (abandon all hope and keep that rowboat near). Yea that could be it.

Stone fruit. Yea … love the CA summer pluot extravaganza.

GSW SL MVP?

Hmm, just realized that summer league standout Mfiondu Kabengele and beloved of some of Dub Nation, he was actually drafted #27 2019 by the Nets, and was a bust with the Clippers.

Extra pain: the next three picks were

27 BRK Mfiondu Kabengele

28 GSW Jordan Poole

29 SAS Keldon Johnson

30 MIL Kevin Porter Jr.

I cannot imagine the level of teeth gnashing in Unhappy Dubs Twitter if that had been a GSW pick.

Anyway, it goes to show that big men take a while to grow up in this league. I hope he gets a fair shot.

And you thought it wasn't a contact sport: "Chess robot grabs and breaks finger of seven-year-old opponent."

I guess maybe I might say some more things in the future.

Current competitions for end rotation and G League pecking order:

PG Ryan Rollins & Mac McClung (Little Big Mac)

The 2m Dubs spent to move up to get Rollins, 2 pre-draft workouts, and initial plans to use some of the MLE to sign him to a 3-year deal on the 15-man roster show that this isn't much of a competition. The FO and Kerr like this kid a lot. But the stress fracture he had came out of left field and opened the door for a Summer League invite for McClung who has impressed in his own right, enough to secure a second date as a training camp invitee.

I don't see how Rollins loses his spot on the 15. But if there are any lingering issues with the foot, it would put pressure on the dubs to open a 2-way spot for McClung.

2Guard The 2 Qs, Quindarry & Quinones

As of 2day, the 2 two-way contracts are held by two 2Guards while a 3rd string 2Guard slot remains open on the 15-man (hypothetically, as I have Moody slotted as the backup Small Forward)

If Andre retires (or they don't add another vet in his place), I believe the Dubs will lean towards putting Quindarry on the 15-man. There is so much youth on the team, it would help to add a bit more continuity and experience (comparatively!) to the bench. I'm pretty confident that Quinones will stay on his two-way contract for the year, if only to keep a friend of Wiseman's in the fold.

It would seem weird to carry 2 two-way players who both played the same position which is the one position we have the most depth in, when you could use one of those slots for McClung or Trevion Williams or Gui Santos. So, I do really wonder what is going to happen with Quindarry.

Small Forward Patrick Baldwin Jr (PBJ) & Gui (Gui't the F outta here!) Santos

We have seen Santos and it does appear he intends to play in Santa Cruz at the very least. The question with him would be whether or not he could grab one of the two-way contracts. I will say no. He is young, still learning English and has to acclimate to a whole new culture. The best track for him would be a year in Santa Cruz only and let him get comfortable, work on his game without the pressure of the NBA, and aim and train for a roster spot next year.

PBJ should be with the big club all year healing, getting in shape practicing and we will just have to wait to see him when we see him. This may be like a red shirt year for him.

Power Forward & Center. Dray, JK & JMG at PF with Wiseman & Loon at center.

We do need one more big man on the 15 or a two-way at the very least. We all know the free agent vet bigs that are still out there. Enter Trevion Williams. The more I watch this guy the more I like him. We have an open slot on the 15 for a big. That's where I think he should be. If Quindarry gets on the 15 and TW takes the other two-way contract, so be it. But James Brown "Please, Please, Please" sign this guy Bob. You won't regret it.

Overall, not too much drama or intrigue heading into training camp, whenever that is. But the FO left enough questions unanswered that it should spice up training camp with some strong internal competition for the back end of the roster and G League.

If the team does not have organized practices with players in the off season, how is JW going to learn to defend and screen and pick and roll. How is JK going to learn to play team defense and Poole play point of attack defense

I think with all the difficulties people have been having liking/hearting comments recently, all these results should be thrown out and we should replay the entire week.

OT: Jordan Poole, er Peele’s NOPE is fantastic. Not perfect, but like his first two, gives you a ton to chew on, and gets better the more you ponder it afterwards.
