Was thinking, there's lots of great nicknames in NBA history, individual and teams. But do the Warriors own the best duo and trio nicknames with The Splash Brothers and Run TMC?
Looks *pretty* good to me, except I think they have Denver too low. I'd personally bump Denver and LAC up to #4-5, and everyone else down a slot or two.
One of the theories on the Laker underwhelment the last two years is not just the questionable play of so-called Big Three, but the absence of quality role players, who've been traded. Which leaves the team scrambling for ideas and coming up with the 934-year-old Carmelo, and the ever reliable Rajon Rondo, Isaiah Thomas, Dwight Howard, et. al.
If you were the Lakers FO, which of these trades would you have more trouble justifying?
1. Acquired Anthony Davis for Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart AND three first round picks, including the No. 4 overall pick
2. Acquired Russell Westbrook and the Wizards' 2024 second-round pick and 2028 second-round pick, for Kyle Kuzma, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Montrezl Harrell and 2021 No. 22 pick.

Am I the only one who thinks that Kevin Garnett is a 7 foot Draymond Green with a midrange jump shot/efficient post game!
Sure its arguable that Dray is a better passer but given that Dray has been surrounded by all time great offensive talent his entire career + an offensive system designed to let him thread dimes from the post/punish 4 on 3’s I suspect the difference as big as you would think!
As a part of my longstanding campaign to reduce my environmental footprint, since I am a Night Night Eco Warrior (TM), I have decided to reduce the number of electrons I use posting comments.
After careful analysis of my ~6000 posts, I have found that they fall into a very limited number of categories. Therefore, I have decided to create abbreviations for them, to reduce the number of characters that need to be pushed through the internet.
These abbreviations will be posted on the gym door, and as an homage to Trogdor, or Alas Phood Fight, or Asher, will also be posted on my high school locker (Torrey Pines HS, Del Mar, CA). Please refer to them for all future communications.
I am starting with the two most important communication categories known to man. I refer, of course, to 'Laziness' and 'Petty Responses to Internet Humiliation'.
Laziness
Laz1: TL;DR
Laz2: TS;DR
Laz3: Long words make Mongo's head hurt indubitabli ... indubitibly ... like For Real!
Laz4: My climbing skills are insufficient to scale your Wall of Text
Laz5: A quick skim of your post shows it seems interesting, but I just opened a bag of Cheetos and Hard Copy is on.
Humiliation
Hum1: Your rebuttal of my post is well-reasoned, thorough, backed with facts, and allows for no response. Here is my wry response to indicate that I am the Night Night Better Man (TM). [Action figure sold separately]
This is my default response to Sleepy's posts.
Hum2: Your rebuttal of my post is well-reasoned, thorough, and allows for no response. Here is my snippy 3-word reply to indicate that I am butt-hurt.
Hum3: Your rebuttal of my post is very complete, and I can think of no response. Here is my submissive reply to cover my research of all your posts to find something to blackmail you with.
Hum4: Your rebuttal of my post is fairly well done, but you failed to cover one insignificant case. Here is my four paragraph argument for why this is the overridingly important case, and your failure to address it invalidates all of your post.
I’ve been watching some late season and early playoff WNBA games. I’m getting engaged and getting interested in the teams and players. There have been some odd blowouts but some really intense competitive play, too. The first Chicago - NY game was pretty great.
These teams have clearly been studying the NBA and vigorously taking notice. And adding their own twists. Most of the teams I’ve watched play a variant of Dubs ball - far more than in the NBA! Lots of passing, player movement, cuts and picks, really good inside and outside shooting. A lot less ISO ball. And the women hit way more FTs than the NBA guys do. Kinda weird, why would that be? No dunks sadly but plenty of spectacular passes through the eye of a needle to sweet layups.
Itch getting scratched. No, not complete basketball satisfaction - scratch though I may, my NBA Jones is still itchy and annoying. But it’s fun sports, and way more entertaining than (yaaawwwnnn) Baseball.
Was reading through a lot of the season schedule analysi and with all the traveling challenges that happens the idea of everyone playing on the moon popped into my head (very left field and counter productive I know!). But who knows if/when in the future an exhibition game may get played there and with the 1/6 gravity the game would be very interesting to see. What would be the best and worst sports to observe at the inaugural Lunarlympics?

Did we go over ESPN's pre-season power rankings?
1. GSW
2. BOS
3. MIL
4. MEM
5. PHO
6. LAC
7. MIA
8. DAL
9. DEN
10. PHI

Unfortunately the award recognizing/praising a daily DNHQ discussion without mention of Kevin Durant has officially been rescinded.
Well here was a surprising (to me) statistic.
Without looking, which five players do you think scored the most total regular season points for the Warriors this past season, and in what order?

Is House or Dragons carrying us through to the beginning of the Warriors season timeframe wise?
