Apparently, the Warriors are working out Darren Collison. He hasn't played in several years but he was a very nice player back then. I wouldn''t mind him on our squad as a backup PG.

If he can play anywhere close to how he used to, that would be a great pick up. Hope is workout goes well.

Could Millsap be a small ball big for us? Wouldn’t mind getting him

The list above makes you want Millsap?

I say let him go to the island of geriatric, mismatched toys that is the Lakeshow.

More like our shaky health/experience at the 5 and the lack of solid alternatives out there. One thing I like about Millsap is he won’t get overpowered on D and can sit in the corner at the other end

The last I read Milsap was trying to get more than the vet minimum. We could do that, but would we? Do we even need another small ball 4/5? Seems like if we want another big, we might be better off with a true C who is more of a poor man's Bogut or Zaza.

Yeah it doesn't look like a 4/5 is the priority hey. Ive listened to some talk of Kuminga as C on depth chart, so maybe the FO see him as a suitable way to keep resiliency at the 5.

15th roster spot...are the brass really choosing between D.Lee, Mulder, GP2, Chiozza? I may be beating an otherwise dead horse here (reserving all right to accept mockery now and/or following training camp battles), however...Jaquori Mcglaughlin convinced me he can lead a team. And then there's still the TPE, though it's already been muchly discussed, but is it really in play? What do you think? Do any of them get the nod, someone else, or will they keep the spot open?

DLee effectively won the 14th guaranteed roster spot, by all accounts.

Chiozza already has one of the two two-ways.

The 15th spot and the second two-way are still very much TBD, but I highly doubt McLaughlin is in play for either. GP2 seems to have a better shot, though (as with Chriss) his chances are complicated by the fact that he’s not eligible for a two-way. Mulder is.

But as Bjelilaugh says, either the 15th spot and the second two-way or both could come totally out of left field, as Chiozza did.

No TPE to play with now that Oubre has signed outright with Charlotte. They do still have the $5.9M TPMLE to play with, tho (which may be what you meant?) Myers has expressed willingness to use it, but given the ~5x luxury penalties it would incur, I kinda doubt they do unless it’s for someone they *really* like.

They could also look elsewhere entirely. They signed Quinn Cook to a two-way and I don't think he had a prior relationship with the team.

DLee is guaranteed a roster spot. He's:

(a) A really good, hyperefficient player who can knock down 3s, rebound and defend a little while knowing and understanding his role

(b) Related to Steph

Chiozza just got a 2 way so I would be shocked if we cut him right now (and he seems to be Atkinson's guy). GP2 and Mulder are probably competing for the 15th roster spot right now as we head into training camp.

Jaquori was nice but he's only in contention for a 2 way, and even that is really tricky considering they've already used one of their 2 two-way contracts on a small PG. If he sticks with us, I would guess that it happens as a Santa Cruz player.

D lee is so slept on

Lee suffered from playing 4 years of college ball at Drexel, not known as a basketball superpower, where he actually earned a degree and 1 year a Louisville as essentially an older hired gun. That's not the sort of resume that impresses the scouts so kudos for the Hawks and then the Warriors for figuring out that he could actually play.

I’m thinking of starting change.org petition to get Belilaugh to make his name more inline with times and change it to Bjelilaugh.

That's pretty good but this face tattoo can't be removed.

Everyone has a price. We need to know the 3pt% and attempts per game on the season that would get it done.

Oh we can squeeze in a "j" in there I'm sure... 😂

In-depth Summer League reviews on Moody and Kuminga. Lengthy, but way more detail-oriented than any other evaluations I've seen.

Those are both great! Wow, the main scouting guy was really high on Moody doing something special this year with the Big Dubs.

Main guy is this guy: https://twitter.com/abovethebreak3.

He had pre-draft video breakdowns of "average games" from Moody and Kuminga.

Moody:

He also had a written scouting report on Kuminga pre-draft:

He also had a scouting report of Moody as a high school senior:

A lot of very good content. I was looking at draft stuff more last season given the Minnesota pick and stumbled onto him, highly recommend.

That was solid and eye-opening analysis of both players. Cool.

Weird. And now Beverly makes the T-Pups legit playoff contenders, I would offer, or at least a stronger candidate for one of the play-in games. #westernconference

So if my math is right, Clippers traded Lou Williams, Patrick Beverley, and two future 2nd rounders for Eric Bledsoe and a trade exception. Is this Jerry West or not Jerry West?

Expand full comment

Remember the rule: Any move that is seen as wise will be attributed to Jerry West. Any move that is viewed as a mistake will be blamed on someone else. Reality is irrelevant to this.
