Wiseman is looking decidedly not great. I would say it's concerning but I think most of us know he's past concerning. The worst part might be that he's probably looking worse now than he did at the start of the season.

Poole, Mannion (if his shot's real he's probably got an NBA future), Wiggins and JTA were pretty good.

Our over-reliance on Steph for offense and Dray for defense is very concerning.

I get that we all wish Wiseman was better at this point, but personally, I feel that it's impossible to judge him based on this season. He's basically a high school player thrown into the NBA and asked to paly the position that takes the longest to learn on top of dealing with covid. In comments from him the other day it, sounds like covid protocols and dealing with the pandemic is wearing on him just as it is all of us

Personally, I expect him to work his ass off this summer under more normal conditions and show great improvement next year! I'm optimistic that he will be great.

Totally agree. It’s been huge adjustment for JW. Looking forward to seeing his progress next season

Also some really supportive comments from JTA in the post game presser

Good night folks.

Too many missed time from key players this season I don't think there will be enough games to really build a rhythm and get back into the race

there are plenty of games left, particularly given that they are still in a playoff seed right now.

All those dumb games we lost playing wannamaker instead of poole are going to bite us in the ass

Someone talk me off my Wiseman hate. Has he improved over the course of the season? His crazy transition moves happened in the first 2 games and we have seen 0 since. His 3P% has steadily gone down. His defense remains non-existent. His passing is Oubre-esque. His rebounding is still not good. His FT% is pretty awful.

I remember seeing a draft prospect evaluator say that they look for if a player is over 70% from the line after their first 100 FT attempts in college as an indicator of their shooting ability.

Wiseman is currently 47 for 77 for 61% from the line. If he makes his next 23 attempts in a row he'll be at 70% after 100 FTs. He made like 5 out of his first 6 threes and we got excited but he's down to 34% from distance and the jury is certainly out on if he's actually going to be a decent let alone good shooter.

He didnt play much. Thats not the problem, learning takes time. The problem is that people thinks that he can start on a team that wants a championship Next Gear.

Of course we don't know what the off season moves will be. JW is starting now but this season we're not a contender anyway. Besides, starting isn't what matters, it's who plays the big minutes and who finishes. Wiseman could start next year but we pick up someone to replace Chriss who ends up carrying the load. And this was one of Wiseman's worst games. He has far to go but he's not usually THIS bad.

This is true, this was a horrific game

Expand full comment

Me too. I get that he will be all star in 2 years or 3 years but we will be killing remaining prime of Steph/Klay/Dray and that would be sad

Expand full comment

I feel the front office was forward looking and didn’t think any of the rookie crop would help them contend. They were thinking more of getting players via free agency but when Klay went down that sort of killed the plan.

No, he hasn’t improved

Kerr has done a shitty job with him IMO

Expand full comment

Wiseman has no clue what his role is in the offense

Expand full comment

Without Steph to guide him he is a lost (should I say it??) puppy

JW - WTF. It's not garbage time for you.

It's possible that Curry is gonna miss more games than Dubs are letting on. If yes, no point in fighting hard to get into Play-in

Finally watched to replay of his injury, he landed on the edge of a step. That's probably more serious than your average tailbone injury

I mean Fox's career game is impressive and all but he's playing against traffic cones lol

He does that to everybody -- he's one of the quickest players in the game

He's been mercilessly exploiting Mannion and Wiseman all game

I can't tell if Kerr is letting JW play free style. But not everyone can learn in Swin-or-Sink mode. Kerr needs to give just couple of things for JW to do every game - for now.

Wonder why paschall is getting multiple DNPs, makes me feel like there's something going on

They're playing JP, Wise, and Nico over him.

Kerr mentioned that EP was dropped from the rotation for Poole, Toscano, & Mannion.

Ok, that works too. Though Wise and JTA are the only two similar positionally.

WHY ARE WE POSTING WISEMAN WITH FOUR MINUTES LEFT!!!

Expand full comment

I don’t understand why Wiseman does that fadeaway he never makes it and he can just face the basket and shoot over Holmes, he should know that because he just did it
