Lacob as future coach? 😜

Intuitively obvious to the most-casual observer the hypothesis is proven:

There is no EXCITING NBA PLAYOFFS without THE WARRIORS PLAYING; the FINALS SERIES is BOUND to be DULL, ANTICLIMACTIC, and, PREDICTABLE.

The Western Conference games have been plenty exciting. The East has been less exciting. The Finals? Who knows...

Now that I know what trolling is, I need own up to it....with good cause...dang malingering, debilitating, experimentation...you go with it for another 2 years rather than try to reinvent the wheel almost the entire season...afterwards, you take your lumps and rebuild....

OK, but, ALL teams in the West were made up with a bunch of LOTS OF HYPE star losers -PRETENDERS- with the exception of JOKER AND LBJ...NO SPLASH NO FUN/HOF TRIO...LOL

Duh....I guess Boston has doubled down on its home advantage....it appears they have taken control of this series...lol

Celtics really going to cake walk to their second ring.

I said what I said. 😅😅

Don't even want to see them play this round.

I will definitely be rooting for them despite all my sports hate as I dislike luka and kyrie way more

Which will be more motivating to Wiggins? Watching KAT win one and wanting to get back ahead of him, or watching Luka win one and wanting to re-detonate a monster dunk on his head?

One of the seven mysteries of the world….

What motivates Wiggs?

I don't know... it really feels like it's Luka's year this year. Can't explain it. It's the bullsh*t in the air

Expand full comment

He has put up a cruddy .540 TS in the playoffs; and when hasn’t been weeping to the refs he’s been grimacing half the time and limping around like Embiid.

Could be his year, but I wanna see him really tested. Last time he made it to the WCF he was destroyed by Andrew Wiggins. 😊

The Mavs/Cuban would be insufferable. 😭😅

Was Cuban insufferable when the Mavs won a championship back in 2011?

I'm sorry... the East was terrible this year. The East had 2x 50 win teams this year... the Bucks got the 3 seed with 49 wins, which was the same as the Suns and Pelicans, the 6 & 7 seeds in the West...

And that's with all these East teams playing 52 games against the East and only 30 games against the West, while the West teams had the opposite. If you switch those 48 win East teams to the West, they probably become 45 win teams with 22 games of a tougher schedule.

And these are the teams the Celtics are competing against in their run to The Finals? With their opponents' stars repeatedly missing games? After their "2nd easiest schedule" Regular Season? Sheesh...

Certainly looks like everything lining up for the Celtics - I will prefer them to the mavs for sure despite massive sports hate for the Celtics

Expand full comment

Celtics will make it to the NBA Finals, so I hope the Wolves will make it as well. I'm not sure if the Mavs can handle the Celtics.

Kyrie might turn into prime MJ if they make the Finals just to stick it to Boston fans

I also hope Luka and at least three of the following Mavs role players show up if the Mavs make it to the NBA Finals: Washington, Jones Jr., Gafford, Lively, J. Green, Hardaway Jr..

A corollary to this argument is that if you pick a random 46 win team from the West that couldn't even get out of the play in, and move them to the East, giving them 22 more games against the East & 22 fewer games against the West, they probably win 49 games and get the 3rd or 4th seed, and maybe even the 2nd seed. So... arguably, the 2nd best team in the East bracket behind the Celtics was equivalent to the Warriors or Kings... who couldn't even make the playoffs in the West.

That's why it will be even more hilarious when they fail to win it all AGAIN

Both teams had a similar game but Boston just did everything better tonight

Celtics beat the Pacers 126-110. Pacers looked at first, but the 17-0 run by the Celtics in the 2nd Q doomed the Pacers.

Haliburton injured and out for the game. Fuck off, Celtics.

Pacers with some of the most undisciplined D I've ever seen. They go for every pump fake, they gamble, they lose their man, they don't trust, they don't watch ball and man.

Maybe also a good time for the evergreen reminder that Kuminga is *much* better than Jaylen Brown was at his age?

Expand full comment

I can only hope he'll still be better than Jaylen Brown at age 27, and every year along the way.

In order to evaluate that idea, I would have had to watch the Celtics on purpose. Do I look like that kind of idiot? Right now I have to, but when Brown was younger, the Warriors were still in the NBA

Jason Dumas shared Coleman Hawkins video from post-draft-workout where he discusses his enthusiasm for GSW, how he’s worked out for GSW this year and last, how he knows Podz well (played with him in BP’s year in Illinois), played against Trayce, Lester Q is good friends with a teammate, and his AAU coach and recruiter (and ex NBA player) Chuck Hayes is operations chief with GSW. With all the connections, it’s not surprising he got another workout this year, but maybe a good sign that there were no disqualifying red flags…

Hawkins will probably naturally fall to #52 and if not he can always pull a Trayce and say he’ll only sign with a team if they offer more than an NBA minimum. So I suspect GSW can have him if they want him

But, depending on who falls out of the first round, the Warriors may prefer another player. We shall see!

It’s crazy how people are scoffing at Draymond saying Klay would guard Kobe in a theoretical matchup. People have really been discrediting Klays career as a whole since coming back from injury. Let’s not act like Kobe was some unstoppable ultra efficient scorer. He was a master at his craft and made really tough shots but FFS let’s not act like Klay in his prime can’t at least give him something to think about.

Pacers looking disastrous on defense today. So many back cuts, failed box outs & silly fouls.

The Spurs and the Lakers keep coming up as potential suitors for the Warriors' Chris Paul if Paul becomes a free agent this offseason. Paul's longstanding friendship with LeBron James and his well-known desire to stay as close to his L.A.-based family as possible certainly add credence to the notion of the Lakers' signing him.

Paul's $30 million salary for next season becomes fully guaranteed on June 28 if Golden State does not waive him ... or if the Warriors trade him to a team that decides to keep him. The Warriors, league sources say, are currently evaluating those options.

If the team that has Paul on its roster on June 28 wants to be completely free of the salary obligation, Paul will be let go and proceed to the open market with a chance to choose his next destination. The accomplished point guard just turned 39 on May 6.

Another option, I'm told, that has not yet been ruled out is Golden State and Paul agreeing to move that guarantee date into July — although it can't be done unilaterally. The Warriors would need Paul's consent for such an alteration, which would expand the window to explore potential trades.
