The more I read/think about the tax and payroll, the more I understand that I really don't understand what we're willing/able to pay :)

Maybe one step at a time. If and when Chase starts to have concerts again, maybe you’ll hear Lacob talk more to the public, and you’ll feel his confidence. We should be able to outbid anybody for Oubre and with Draymond and Steph and Kerr and the culture, the locker room side of it should take care of itself — btw that latter part is the part the stand-up comedians on #WarriorsTwitter purporting to know shit about the Warriors would never be able to tell you.

We should be no more worried about this than we were with Iguodala. Andre could’ve driven a harder bargain than $16M per back then. He didn’t. It was all “due diligence”. He said, “I did my homework and this is what I’m worth, not a penny more, not a penny less, so show me that you did your homework too, that it matches your info, and appreciate me by getting out your checkbook.” And Lacob did. And that’s what will happen with Oubre, I predict. And if he walks, Myers created this Iguodala slot out of nothing (okay, complex maneuvers involving Utah) in 2012 and I wouldn’t trust any of the other 29 GMs with recreating something from nothing a second time, but I’d trust Bob to be able to do it somehow in the future again.

Great post, loved reading your thoughts! My problem is just how much they're counting on hypotheticals. The FO is counting on Klay returning to his old self, on drafting good players and on these rookies making an impact right away. I'm just not sure if that's good enough to build a contending team. Would like to hear more of your thoughts on that. Great job, keep up the good work!

Tons of moving targets. Of which you also forgot: LeBron will be a year older, other teams will suffer injuries including some star out there (unfortunately but that’s basketball), Toronto will be rebuilt, if LAC doesn’t win a championship they might start to have doubt or mental fatigue… I think you catch my drift. Don’t worry about it. What happens then will happen then. It’ll be a new set of challenges and 29 other teams will have their own challenges. That’s what Steph has learned over ten years, so that’s why he always says to enjoy the moment and the journey. And that’s why all the “waste Steph’s prime” people are whackos lol.
