Thanks Eric. I’m enjoying reading these dynasty pieces and feeling so smug as a warriors supporter. Then I remember that we drafted Kuminga and my smugness gets multiplied by 1000
I'll see your smugness and raise you a serious superiority complex. Well, back to my Chardonnay & Fois-Gras that I am enjoying while playing chess on the Light Years Express.
(for reference he shoots ~39% 3pt in game, and 76% career FT).
practice is different from in-game, but really makes me wonder how well even ostensibly poor shooters shoot in practice. Like Draymond... can he hit 40% in practice? 50% in practice?
Seems like Love has no interest in a buyout. No team in their right mind will trade for that contract so I guess he better change his attitude and play the mentor role to their young guys.
Guess I can't blame a guy for not wanting to leave money on the table -- even if he already has more than he can spend. But you're right: He better embrace the role if he's going to stay in Cleveland.
Seems like the same crew who would trade Draymond. Same crew who think Carmelo and Westbrook are on Mount Rushmore. Undervalue defense, be surprised in the playoffs.
Loon does the stuff we really need him to do. He's under-appreciated by people who don't watch a lot of Dubs because he isn't a big scorer, plus he missed a lot of games due to injuries. I hope his increased rebounding we saw late last season is for real. When he first came in the league he had a reputation as a good rebounder, and he's a smart player with a good sense of where to be.
Agree. It's terrible on FB, where people who barely watch the team repeatedly say dumb stuff lie Looney is worthless and ought to be traded for a 2nd rounder (or less). The guy has been stout in the playoffs and is our STARTING center.
Myers should still be fired for not managing a Smiley + picks for Giannis trade since they knew they were going to cut Smiley anyway. Instead, they got nothing for him.
Wow, have to disagree. Bob should be fired for letting Smiley get away, period! We all know Giannis has holes in his game. With Smiley, since he hasn't shown any skill at all, the sky is the limit on potential. Oh Smiley. What could have been .... ;-)
I have twin boys aged 20. One has a license, one does not. You know that thing they say about parents being unable to choose between their kids? Absolutely false. Hang in there, it's worth the wait! haha
Snap. And some Warriors fans wanted to follow the LeBron Method of sell out for a single year. No matter how great an individual player is, you have to look out for the whole team, because in the end, that is what serves the individual players.
That's why you build a culture of self sacrifice for the team. Iggy moving to bench, Curry or Thompson not pursuing NBA records in the 4th quarter when game was in the bag, etc. As the leader of the team-first culture, I never felt Curry would suddenly change course and start making demands to serve himself. You miss out on getting some Me-First players on the team, Oubre a recent example. So be it. Better for the team in the long run. You just go all in on the idea that what is best for the team will ultimately advance the interests of the individuals on the team. A lot easier when your All Stars have all bought in.

3D chess, I assume
Ahh yes, Manfred, what other kind is there? Ta Ha.
Bjelly shooting 3's at ~75% clip in practice: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eBLDm9xRxUU

with some good photo editing, sure Dray can get his practice 3s up to 70%
So basically if we were the equivalent of the Cavs, we would've only had Damian Jones and Jacob Evans (total 58 PO minutes)...
Grizz waived Rondo, guess who’s going to Lakers ... 🙄

It’s gonna be a negotiation… he’s probably going to let it play out till a clear opportunity comes around toward the trade deadline.

I think his agent is just trying to squeeze more money out the Cavs’ buyout offer.
Could be. But can he pass a physical? If not, he won't get even a vet minimum deal.
I'm so sick of seeing Looney get disrespected on other social media platforms for being a "bum" and "useless".
I'm pulling out the *elitist hat* here.. these suckers don't know jack sh*t about basketball.
Thats a thing?

Even on this site people act like looney cant be our starting 5, I've seen him lock up embiid and outrebounding him
He absolutely is starting 5 caliber, but the rub is you save Loon for the postseason.
Like Dray, he’s a postseason player. Save the tread on those tires

Here, here. Looney is All-NBA 1st Team Unsung Heroes. A sneaky good winning player, through and through.

Lmao
Gee, I must have read wrong. I thought it was Giannis plus picks for Smiley.
I did want to see him for one more year lol he does have the archetype to be a nice small ball five
He can get his reps anywhere, and if somebody wants to bring him up to a top league, they can and will.
Wow, have to disagree. Bob should be fired for letting Smiley get away, period! We all know Giannis has holes in his game. With Smiley, since he hasn't shown any skill at all, the sky is the limit on potential. Oh Smiley. What could have been .... ;-)
Smiley will be back. Mark my words: You'll see him at Chase. He may be in the upper bowl, though...
Nah, he made millions, he may not be courtside, be he can afford lower bowl unless he blew his money on Bentleys and stuff
Love the series and it is especially appreciated as I wait in a 1+ hour line at the DMV to get my son his learner’s permit….

Agree -- though in the age of player empowerment, it's also risky (cf. Spurs and Kawhi Leonard).

Right now I can't think of anyone on the team who isn't team first. It's pretty impressive. All of the young 'uns look like they'll be that way too.
I would think you could spend 30m calibrating on a nearby Diamond, right?
Hey, he stopped the MFY winning streak at 13, so he’s in my good book before he’s played a single game. :-)
