Which of the three big pro sports: NBA vs NFL vs MLB do you think will have the highest fraction of players with the type of "catholic values" shown by the dude below?
I would not guess it to be the NBA - Maybe MLB??
NFL's Harrison Butker is slammed for speech on women, abortion
Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker stirred controversy off the field this weekend when he told a college graduating class that one of the "most important titles" a woman can hold is "homemaker."
What a lovely time to be an NBA, not merely a Warrior fan. Luka, Brunson, young OKC, Halliburton, Celtics, if one can get over one's various disgruntlements, there's a lot of lovely basketball to enjoy.
Which brings me to the series that has me transfixed. Timberwolves brought some of the most intense defense I have ever seen in my life, particularly in Game 2. There's YouTubes out there breaking down just how good it was. Legendary. And Anthony Edwards is the league's next all time superstar, and a lot of fun to watch. So Denver was done, down 0-2 at home. Then they won three in a row on the intense contributions of Aaron Gordon, the resurgence of Jamal Murray, timely contributions from MPJ, KCP, and even Christian Braun.
But more than anything, I delight in living in a time when Jokic is playing. He's so great, and so fun to watch. It's hard to say anything that hasn't been said, but he's just at an even greater level than before. He may be the best single basketball player of all time. Yeah, I said that. Plus he's a joy to watch, every little subtle move, footwork, gentle clever shot, genius pass. Always elevates his team, does whatever is needed. Oh, you need me to take on the defensive player of the year one on one? I'd be more than glad to evicscerate him with every possible move.
Hard to like a non-Warrior more than I like Jokic. And the thing is, no one disagrees. Maybe they don't have a passion for him, but no one thinks he secretly sucks or is a nasty jerk. What a time to be alive. He's got at least 5 more years of peak performance if he stays healthy which by the way he always does.
I agree with you -- he is my favorite non-Warrior and a joy to watch. Also, watching him destroy Gobert has been a lot of fun as well. I think the Nuggets close this out tonight. ANT is also in my top-5 non-Warriors that I enjoy watching. Just a freak.
There’s gonna be tax, but the cap is rising fast… of course, White’s and Holiday’s and Tatum’s extensions may be respectively larger too… but it’s not a LeBron situation where there’s one uniquely generationally elite guy and you have flexibility to build around him in different ways. They’ve got a bunch of “good-to-great” guys, so any trade would need to be a consolidation… but that’s not happening for myriad reasons.
It probably was for the greater good though. Because of Kerr's challenge, the play was shown over and over again in the arena, crushing the Mavs' spirit 😎
Well, Cavs with a great effort, down on bodies, go down. Celts with entire starting 5 in double figures; Al HORFORD with a deja-vu reincarnate performance, at 38, was superb. Entertaining game; better than the predictable outcome would indicate.
OT: anyone notice that ESPN changed the typeface on their boxscores today? Not the whole boxscore, but at least the score itself. Only worth noting since they switch up their main boxscore graphics so rarely. Feel like might be the first noticeable change in at least a decade?

I’d guess MLB players, cos they’re the least educated (overall).
that would be my guess too and it likely corrrelates with players coming from largely rural areas
Jarrett Allen: "That's a legit center right there and a shot blocking presence. Would be a nice big for any team out there"
*is 6'9 243lbs*
TJD: "The Warriors will never have a true big on their team"
*is 6'9 245lbs*
TJD is 6'8 240 with a 7'1 wingspan. Standing reach of 8'10
Jarrett Allen was 6'9 234 with a 7'5 wingspan. Standing reach of 9'1.5".
The wingspan makes a big difference

How do you feel about his brothers?
His brothers? I have no opinion. What's the relevance?
They like to beat people up in the stands ... not a lot of relevance but the Warriors aren't playing so ...
Kinda funny. Kinda scary.
It's funny- when we're not in the playoffs, I really notice how they seem to go on foreeeeevvvvvveeeerrrrrr
Should make the first round 5 games again.
Single game elimination.
I'm loving them and wish they would go on longer
Very much loving the Western Conference second round. Really good teams slugging it out.

I notice that when we’re in them, too, lol. Especially since when we’re in them we usually go all the way. 😊
We’re still not even out of the second round… end of Finals could be over a month away still
Interesting seeing Celtics fans talk about salary cap situation in Boston. They think they have about 2~3 years before salary cap wreaks havoc and they have to trade Brown. https://www.reddit.com/r/bostonceltics/comments/1awo2mv/can_we_afford_this_team_past_next_year/

And in other earth shattering news, the giants actually won a game against the dodgers
Not possible. It must be fake news. Okay, it's not fake news. But even though it happened, it's not possible.
Don't worry, the TVA is on their way to prune this timeline.
Does anyone remember way back when, when this happened? https://youtu.be/s-Ncn56I9GA?si=rW1rSfDvNxq1yttw . Good times.
Wiggins really seemed to be finding himself. Can you imagine if he had stayed at that level or even progressed from there? Sigh...
Still disappointed in the ref who fell for Luka's flop.

Good point
Till recently I had that as my phones lockscreen. Got rid of it after this seasons performance 😂
Mavs beat the Thunder 104-92 and go up 3-2 in the series.
My Mavericks looking good tonight (it's not the Warriors so I don't care if this jinxes them)
I am rooting for them to over OKC. Don’t care too much though
Mavs up 54-44 at halftime.
Boo. It's a minor preference, but I'd rather see OKC advance than any team with Kyrie Irving.
Don’t worry - kyrie is not going past JoKic

Celtics about to eliminate Spida-less, Jarrett Allen-less Cavs.
/golf clap/
Wait till they eliminate the Randle-less OG-less Robinson-less Knicks.
Who the Knicks gonna add to that list?
Spida-less due to spida-opting-out more like
Not for another year. He's under contract for next year. His player option is for '25-'26.

Yeah it’s a big change
