Nice work GBK. I'm glad I'm not a twitterer or I may have been tempted to engage with some of these clowns. When the Warriors are back on track and rolling in a few weeks, I'm sure we'll see nothing from them but their sullen silence.
Great stuff Daniel. All I want to say tonight is I have concluded Chiozza, a non-factor for a long time, needs to go. This game had nothing to do with my thinking; been watching him closely since day one, actually pulling for him. Nuff said.
Dropping these ramblings on a potential trade here cos I accidentally posted them down in the game thread…
Bjelica is the guy on the 15-man roster I can most see moving mid-season.
1. He’s been terrible lately.
2. He seems like a cool enough dude, but unlike our other theoretically superfluous guaranteed players (JTA and Lee, basically) he’s not a critical part of the team’s culture or emotional core.
3. He’s not big/rugged enough or a good enough rebounder / rim defender to be a true 5, or switchable enough to be a 4.
4. Draymond, Wiggs, Otto, JTA, and Jon K are our de facto “stretch bigs.” That’s enough. Otto brings everything Beli does for us, plus moves his feet and defends, and imho could probably handle 5 minutes more a game in the Beli role.
5. With Wiseman’s return iffy, Loon is our only true center, and he’s only 6-9 240. That’s not enough.
6. We might miss Beli’s shooting / floor spacing a bit, but Klay’s return solves a lot of the shooting / floor spacing issues. And Beli’s three ball has been MIA lately, anyway.
Given all that: flipping Beli (with maybe a sweetener of some kind) for a true, full-sized C seems prudent to me. I’m still sad we missed out on Isaiah Hartenstein — an efficiency / advanced stats beast with the size, ruggedness, rim defense, and rebounding we need, plus a high IQ passing game that could fit well here. His contract was guaranteed by LAC for the season, but with Zubac in place, PG13 likely out for the season and the team in modified tank mode, I wonder if he could be pried. Would Beli plus this year’s first round pick get it done? I’d probably do that, since with all our youth we don’t really need a first rounder anyway.
Any other potentially available/useful bigs people can think of? Or are we okay rolling the dice on young James being able to do a reasonable Ezeli/McGee impression as early as this year’s playoffs?
All the Warriors really need is for Poole and Curry to start hitting 3s again. Wiggins stats have been holding up pretty well during the slump but he just isn't taking all that many shots and he needs to take a few more. Unless Wiggins and Poole can take some of the pressure off Curry, Curry is going to keep seeing double and triple teams which make it just about impossible for him to find any kind of shooting rhythm.
The Warriors have a three ball problem, we shoot a lot of them and haven’t been making very many, we weren’t bodying the Greek Fn Freak before the ball was in his hands and he made us pay, Bjelica is definitely as slow as any big man in the League but certainly can’t play like a 5 and seems to have no idea what he should be doing out there, if we always need Dray$ to ratchet up to maximum intensity it could bite us down the road, the Bucks are Championship and know how to stomp out an opponent who hasn’t shown up ready to compete, the game against them in March on our floor (with two healthy squads) should tell us a lot about our Championship dreams
If the Dubs could get a talent upgrade in the front court, to help Loon and Dray that would be great. With Wiseman being an unknown they could use a vet who can hold up on the defensive end, score at the rim especially against size and can be a scoring threat when they screen for Steph. Can make free throws too! When it slows down in the playoffs gotta have someone who can punish inside, when the back cuts aren't there.
Is there such player out there that the Dubs could get, without giving up a bunch of assets?
How is GP2’s back? That was a rough fall with Giannis and he was clearly in pain.
It’s crazy that the whole team has the yips. It’s not just the shooting it’s the hesitation in whether to pass or shoot too. I officially gave up watching after one super late Kuminga pass on one of the easiest decisions in basketball when Porter’s man left Porter to double JK leaving a wide open passing lane in the direction JK was dribbling and Kuminga triple thought about it before delivering the late useless pass.
Iguodala being unable to dunk with a wide open run up when he was easily elevating to start the season is concerning considering he hasn’t played much lately.
However, we know what this team can look like when Kerr isn’t ducking the all-star coaching gig and the team is healthy. It would be nice to get full health lineups for enough time to work on the chemistry, but until then let’s hope we are entertained by tonight’s game.
It's so fun going back and reading the comments two days after the bad rout and the morning after the good rout.
Regarding islands - things have been a little iffy over here in the Hashemite Kingdom lately, but they're looking pretty sunny again. Mansaf, anyone?

I am not in panic, but for my mental health , i think ... no... i know! we gonna lose today, and we gonna suck

Twitter: Because idiocy deserves a megaphone.

Losing sucks. Losing by a lot sucks a lot.
But we still have a lot more wins than losses, so I'll count that as a good thing.

"the Warriors are being put forth before the tribunal for not beating the defending champions on the road." Great line.
Dubs are the 5th worst offense in league over the past 15 games per The Athletic. Good grief.
Opinions are like....

The Warriors are awesome. My opinion on that has not changed.
