Where are you ranking KD all time if he retires Top 4 in all time scoring but his only rings are with us?

#Williams

Assuming he can clear the Dubs' bar for IQ, he'd be regular season size at worst. He's the same age as JK, Moody and Gui so he's probably not going to get much better, but the SIZE.

OKC played like the number 1 seed in the NBA it is this season, amd SGA LIKE THE NBA MVP he is this season....

I really didn’t want OKC to win, and am still holding out hope for one last Pacers miracle, but I also remember when we won the 2015 title and LeBron dismissed us by saying we were the “most healthy team I’ve ever seen in NBA history.”

I have been watching basketball for over 78 years. I still could not tell you the definition of “he gets to his spot.” I kinda know, I kinda don’t. Can you define it?

Most players have specific spots on the court that they shoot better from and are more comfortable shooting from. The defensive scouting knows where these spots are and the defense tries to prevent players from going there.

It usually applies to a guy who's got the size/shooting/driving abilities to be able to get to a pull up midrange jumper that is at one of their "spots", and defenses can't easily take that away without giving up a driving opportunity, so it just looks like these guys do a simple move to get to #theirspot, and make an easy looking shot.

Yeah. It may have *slightly* broader meaning, but the default trigger of that particular cliché in NBA announcers is a guy like SGA (or KD, or CP3, or DeRozan et al.) snake dribbling into an easy 10-15 ft elbow jumper.

You almost never hear it applied to, say, a Steph three or Giannis dunk.

"Look at Shaq throw that one down! He just knows how to get to his spot!"

I think maybe it means, “He can see where he’d like to dribble to, so he dribbles there, and then he shoots. He doesn’t just shoot from where he is. He dribbles on over.”

It's not necessarily about dribbling. For instance, when Klay was with us, he worked to get open to receive passes in his favorite shooting spots.

Right, but that Klay scenario almost never triggers the phrase “gets to his spots” (if, say, you’re coding the announcer patter for NBA 2K25).

Interesting. I can't speak to NBA 2K25, as I've never even seen it. I was thinking about broadcasts of real NBA games, and I was under the impression that the term was used that way. However, I'll take your word for this.

The In-Season Tournament court looked more like the NBA Finals than the actual NBA Finals

I thought they shoulda acknowledged that it wasn't Halliburton's night and lived with some combo of Nembhardt, Neesmith, McConnell, Mathurin at the guard spots.

JDub is way more fun to watch than SGA, way less of a grifter, and seems like a sweet, cool dude to boot. I’m a fan.

Pacer's supporting cast has been amazing but I don't know if their current formula is enough to win a chip. They need an established 2nd scoring option behind Siakam since Hali is more of a floor general. Relying on role players for scoring at this time of the year is risky business

The only way OKC was going to be denied a ring this year is if their main guys shrink on the big stage combined with injury luck and they've checked both boxes. Series is not over and I wouldn't be shocked to see Indy defend homecourt but I'm having a hard time seeing them beat OKC two more times

I was curious to see how Jalen Williams would do as a 2nd option behind SGA in a championship run and he’s answered that question.

Nembhard has been good, but he is absolutely stinking up the fourth quarter. Won't shoot when open, forcing passes for turnovers.
