With both Mitchell and Conley out. Looks like the tank is on in SA? Or: they just suck. Won’t be surprised if the Pels knock them out of the play-in.
If the Spurs do hold on ... famous last words, but easing into the playoffs with a #9-10 against SA at Chase Center doesn’t seem that much worse to me than opening with an #8-7 road game in POR, DAL or LA — even with the added pressure of having to win two games rather than just one. I might even consider resting guys in the final game v Memphis to make it happen, if Kerr feels like they’re really exhausted.
Geez, what happened to the Pacers? They were #4 or 5 in the Eastern Conference when the Dubs faced them a while ago. Now they're 30-35 and tied with the Wizards at the #9 spot.
Coaching issues. Lots of friction with 1st yr head coach [former assistant at Toronto] and players / coaches / staff. Most likely he will be gone after this season. They've had a lot of injuries / players missing time due to Covid - but they should probably be the 4th or 5th seed now instead of where they're at.
Leaves them with more to prove and more pressure to perform down the stretch, especially since this loss puts them a game behind the Jazz. Seems quite plausible they may take out their frustrations on us.
Thank you for bringing the numbers. Additionally, curious as to what does the Bobbita eye test tell you about the compare/contrast in their offensive games? Do u prefer one for the Dubs style?
Sincerely curious bc I'm biased after the 2016 Finals about anything HB related and I'm hoping to be shown any signs of redemption 😅 #helpme
I have no idea if this would even work salary wise but it would be interesting to have one of the two as the 6th man and Barnes reprise is role as smallball 4

All eyes on Spurs at JAZZ tonight; Spurs need get their 34th loss...lol. Beal VS Bucks should be interesting, also. Would be nice if Trailblazers blows it at Cavs, highly-unlikely though- for their 30th loss, and, GRIZZ pick up their 33rd loss at upset-capable Minnesota....
Well Grizz gonna pull it off, barely; Minnesota proved they were upset-capable, too bad Towns picked up his 5th foul in the 3rd quarter....REFS RULE...
man i'm so glad you joined us here at LGW! You were very instrumental in giving me the confidence I needed when I first started as a blog boi, along with the legend SleepyFreud
Actually, what's interesting is that the last Memphis game will be a play-in for the 8th seed unless either of us have a 2 game lead.
If we go 3-2, Memphis would need to go 6-1 prior to our game to clinch the 8 seed - so 2 losses for Memphis guarantees the last game matters.
If we are tied with Memphis prior to the Pelicans game, we can actually rest everybody against the Pelicans since that game won't matter. (assuming sufficient cushion from 7 and 10 seeds).
Yep...we'll see...I am betting the Pels will drop them, the Mavs, also, and, on the last game of the season, THE DUBS... if the Grizz pull it off, that will be 36 losses for them; 36-36...
Pulling for Pels to get 10, us hold on to 8; would prefer a one game Portland Play-in over LAL/MAVS for a Playoffs 7th seed, and UTAH over PHEONIX in a potential 2-7 matchup.
I figure we need go 4-2, last 6 games, at home, to secure 8th seed. Methinks it is doable without further injuries...Anything less, puts us at 9/10, or, worse, and two Play-in wins to get Playoff 8th seed and a date with, most-likely, Phoenix...
That last game against Memphis will almost certainly determine 8/9 seed, we'll probably be 36-35 and Memphis somewhere between 35-36 and 37-34, and the winner of that last game will gain both a game in the W/L record and head-to-head tiebreaker.
Wonder if Oubre downplayed his injury or the team didn’t properly examine and run the appropriate scans/tests. It went from a sprain that he was playing through to a tear and fracture. The tear/fracture could’ve happened later but it’s puzzling.
And the fact that team nor Oubre have said anything other than Kerr throwing some vagueries and referring to an update the next day that never happened is equally puzzling.
I thought DLee v2 was upfront about getting the vaccine. No guarantee he didn't get the vaccine and still get the disease, but man, talk about unlucky if so.
Too bad. It's much funnier if it meant the 26th most turnovers/5th best. That said, it's probably pace-based just as assists are. Still, fascinating stuff.
I'd just turn off the lights on a couple of breakaways, or possessions where there's an open shot but the shot clock in low. Seems like a winning strategy with the way they officiate it.
1. Utah Jazz 47-18 (Blowout win over SAS). Remaining Strength of Schedule: 23rd hardest
2. Phoenix Suns 47-19 (Blowout loss to ATL). RSOS: 9th
3. LA Clippers 44-22. RSOS: 26th
4. Denver Nuggets 43-22 (Blowout win over NYK). RSOS: 16th
5. Dallas Mavericks 37-28. RSOS: 27th
6. LA Lakers 37-28. RSOS: 11th
7. Portland Trail Blazers 37-29. RSOS: 4th
8. Memphis Grizzlies 33-32 (Narrow win over MIN). RSOS: 24th
9. Golden State Warriors 33-33. RSOS: 15th
10. San Antonio Spurs 31-33 (Blowout loss to UTA). RSOS: 2nd
11. New Orleans Pelicans 30-36. RSOS: 6th
12. Sacramento Kings 29-37. RSOS: 20th
OKC, MIN, HOU eliminated from playoff contention.
Minnesota currently with 3rd-worst record overall, 1 better than Detroit and 1 worse than Cleveland.
Oh, forgot to mention Portland's blowout win over Cleveland.
Thank you!!
Jazz beat the Spurs 126-94.
With both Mitchell and Conley out. Looks like the tank is on in SA? Or: they just suck. Won’t be surprised if the Pels knock them out of the play-in.

I’m assuming you’d most want to rest Steph, Draymond, Looney and Wiggins. Will they have enough healthy bodies to actually rest guys?
Is Mannion-Poole-Smiley-Mulder-JTA-Lee-Bazemore enough to play a game?
Goodnight, y'all. It was fun night; 6 am in Greece....
Tick tock, tick tock.....

Lol, the WIZ happened; they were 9-1 before 2-nite's hair-splitting loss...
Grizzlies beat the Wolves 139-135. Jazz crushing the Spurs 92-56.
Phoenix getting crushed by Atlanta is probably not good for our May 11 game vs. Phoenix.
What do you mean?
Leaves them with more to prove and more pressure to perform down the stretch, especially since this loss puts them a game behind the Jazz. Seems quite plausible they may take out their frustrations on us.
lol...yep...
Grizz lose and helps our seeding, but if Wolves win, it hurts our pick..
Wolves wins help us more than hurt us at this point. We want the pick to convey this year, above all else.
ah yes, the rare win-lose/win-lose proposition!
Games within two points with three minutes or so left!!
You are still slam-dunking, bobbita.....spot-on..
lol my biggest and only fan
HB having a great season, to boot....
okay now you're going too far hahah, I don't doubt he's playing well but would you rather have him over having the Wiggins Island?
16.1-6.6-3.5-0.7-0.2 on 62.6 TS% for HB
18.3-4.8-2.3-1.0-1.0 on 56.7 TS% for Wiggs
Wiggs got him on defense but I think Barnes still got him on offense. This also isn't taking into account salary
I want them both for next season ship-run....
Barnes for Oubre swap?
I have no idea if this would even work salary wise but it would be interesting to have one of the two as the 6th man and Barnes reprise is role as smallball 4
now THATS light years

LOL 😂 SPURS open the window for PELS, DOWN 40 POINTS on way to their 34th loss...
PELS 2 losses back of 10th play-in...
Well, Beal gets 42, Bucks get the 1 point win....lol Means he is 54 points behind Steph going into the last 6 games for both of them.
Well Grizz gonna pull it off, barely; Minnesota proved they were upset-capable, too bad Towns picked up his 5th foul in the 3rd quarter....REFS RULE...
DINO THE GOAT
Lol..Just having fun and some precious time, for a change. Teague just ended an 11-0 Washington run....
man i'm so glad you joined us here at LGW! You were very instrumental in giving me the confidence I needed when I first started as a blog boi, along with the legend SleepyFreud
Here here! Feels like the good old days with a lot of familiar faces
By the way, you've done some great work on both sites I have followed you on...it was refreshing...glad you got in here...
Yep, we got the same master in common....Sleeper inspired me to stick with it, also....lolol
Portland taking care of business. Beal with 22 at the half, score tied at 71. Minnesota falling short. Spurs hanging with UTAH....
Minnesota fighting back for 2 point lead! Spurs getting walloped
Beal with 31 after 3qs; Minnesota 7 pts behind Memphis with a bit under 10 mins left in game; Spurs down 26 pts with a minute left in 2qr...lol
Spurs gonna get 34th! Beal going for 40 2-nite; Bucks still have lead in 3rd, no Middleton 2-nite...
Minnesota just tied it at 88 with a bit under 6 mins left in the 3rd!
And tied at 1:23 with 4 minutes to go! Anthony Edwards with a whopping 39 points!
That Edwards kid is something else...
He's the one pick from this draft where we don't have to feel regret if he turns out to be crazy good. ;)
Memphis @ Minnesota is the one I'll be watching closest - This is probably the most likely L for the Grizz outside of Dallas on their schedule.
Actually, what's interesting is that the last Memphis game will be a play-in for the 8th seed unless either of us have a 2 game lead.

What about @GSW!?!?!?!
GottaBelieve
Yup! I left that out because that is in the Warriors control - was talking about Grizz losses outside their control :)
Always, but, not tonight. We play tomorrow...
GottaBelieve that @GSW is the "the most likely L for the Grizz outside of Dallas on their schedule"
No doubt, I had picked up on it...see my response, below, before your initial comment.
Yep...we'll see...I am betting the Pels will drop them, the Mavs, also, and, on the last game of the season, THE DUBS... if the Grizz pull it off, that will be 36 losses for them; 36-36...

Yep, that is the way I have it going down.
Has the team still provided no updates on Lee and Oubre?
Wonder if Oubre downplayed his injury or the team didn’t properly examine and run the appropriate scans/tests. It went from a sprain that he was playing through to a tear and fracture. The tear/fracture could’ve happened later but it’s puzzling.
And the fact that team nor Oubre have said anything other than Kerr throwing some vagueries and referring to an update the next day that never happened is equally puzzling.
On 4/22 they said Lee would be out 10-14 days, which means today is day 14 and he could play tomorrow? 🤷🏼♂️
I suppose it’ll depend on how he’s feeling. Conditioning may be an issue initially.
nada
It’s starting to piss me off.
Yep, somebody with press credentials need ask the question....
Well they just got back to town today, and the update was that he'd see a doc and get an update once back. So it should be soon on Oubre.
Lee, I'm pretty sure got the Rona. So the only update will be when he is cleared to resume team activities
I thought DLee v2 was upfront about getting the vaccine. No guarantee he didn't get the vaccine and still get the disease, but man, talk about unlucky if so.
His tweet about how he got vaccinated and followed health protocols and (whatever this was) his still happened to him basically confirmed it
Thanks, Duby. Makes sense...

26th in turnovers is bad. It means that they're the 5th highest team in turnovers committed per game.
Too bad. It's much funnier if it meant the 26th most turnovers/5th best. That said, it's probably pace-based just as assists are. Still, fascinating stuff.
Or is the ranking 26th bad? Maybe I screwed up this meme.
Thanks for those stats. Very interesting.
These posts from SOL are an auto-rec for me :)
No doubt; it was always automatic for me for years...
I'd just turn off the lights on a couple of breakaways, or possessions where there's an open shot but the shot clock in low. Seems like a winning strategy with the way they officiate it.
Or tilting the rim to one side ever so slightly.
After, Alex, above, turns off the lights, we do it...
