I’m more than fine with not having a nineteen year-old rookie on the roster this year (and having Jimmy f’ing Butler instead!), but from the sounds of it Jakucionis would have been a pretty good, Warriors-y get at #20.
Not too different than most mick drafts. Group think from stat analysis? Vicenie in athletic this morning seems pretty good and makes me feel we have options but no one really ready to play
I’m amused that my simple APRIBOT can get almost the same players in almost the same order as those listed in Beli’s link from much better player models.
Thanks! That’s a pretty interesting list. Really the draft has been very true to predictions with only two or three players in the top 30 who were in predicted by most people in the top 35. I am more interested in givinue and Vicenie at least each have a few that they thought would be first rounders. I imagine most of those will go before we get a chance to pick unless the fact that we’re willing to offer a full contract gives us a strategic advantage like it did with TJD. But I think most of the team that draft before us also want the cheap players and/or the new opportunities and might do likewise
An interesting anecdote I had not heard previously; apparently Memphis, drafting 2nd, told Steph’s agent they thought he was the 2nd best player in the draft and they wanted to draft him, but they needed a workout. Steph’s team decided they didn’t want him landing in Memphis and declined the workout. Phew! Memphis drafted Hasheem Thabeet instead.
(As was previously well known, the same exact thing was true for the Warriors, but the Warriors decided they didn’t need a workout and picked him anyway. And told his agent they were going to beforehand).
Vicenie predicts many in 30s will be on 2 way so if W offer a roster spot they may be able to in effect jump several spots
Just like with TJD...
Exactly tho not having his brother as the agent might be a setback
Hah. Good point.
If Maxime falls to 41, we take him, right? I’m only now doing my due diligence because I didn’t think he’d be available.
Seems he’d either be an upgrade to Post, too reductive of Post, or possibly a complement to Post and I’m not sure which.

APRIBOT lists these as the top 11 players available. I stress that it’s not my opinion.
14 Rasheer Fleming
16 Adou Thiero
17 Ryan Kalkbrenner
19 Maxime Raynaud
21 Chaz Lanier
22 Kam Jones
23 Tyrese Proctor
27 John Tonje
28 Johni Broome
29 Koby Brea
30 Sion James

10 best players remaining per the statistical models and the scout rankings. Technically all ten could be picked before #41 but still.

Rasheer Fleming would be an amazing roster fit and value
Yeah I had no idea who he was but I looked him up and I'm not really understanding how he's still available
Overlapping list of 9 and 8 shoulda-been-first-rounders

#41+TJD to move up as far as possible and get Thiero, please.
Who are your top3 favorites? For its markovic brea and ? But I dont know about the draft at all
Warriors now 12th and our tournament players all remaining. Well crafted , Eric. Some are in bilis top 10 which means they might be gone soon
Yes, there will definitely be Tourney players available at #41. Probably a lot of them.
There should be at least 1 APRIBOT top-30 player available at 41, no?
3 picks left in the 1st round, three left in my "won't fall" category.
Rasheer Fleming
Adou Thiero
Ryan Kalkbrenner
Warriors can guarantee a contract and maybe despite the cost a multi year. Maybe that’s a strategic advantage
Sorry Jase Richardson Nation. He will always be a second generation Warrior
The Kalkbrenner (pipe) dream lives on?
Now we're at #25, we might actually see a reach or two into Tourney territory. In theory I handled this by removing from the Tourney:
Danny Wolf
Rasheer Fleming
Adou Thiero
Ryan Kalkbrenner
Who *should* be picked before any of the Tourney folks.
I certainly hope you’re wrong

And a Raymond Ridder cameo!

A meaty 48:39 long
21 more draftees to go....
WTF, NOP gave up next year's first rounder *unprotected* to move up from #23 to #13?
Bananas trade
They must be pretty confident that they'll be good next year, pundits be damned.
So now we know that new management is still a little coocoo for cocoa puffs... time to reach out for Trey Murphy.
now they'll never trade him
yeah . . .
This Hansen Yang pick has got to be the biggest reach in years
I watched his highlights and he's kinda sick lol
And that’s not some pun about his wingspan
He is big and if he was their target they made a great trade. Another 1st and 2 seconds
There have been almost no surprises I went Jase Richardson to fall to warriors and they get a Brooklyn pick to get him
wow, insanity! (I'm already lost with the trades lol).

well, technically . . .
