"I know it looks like a Godzilla sized Steph curry is going to kick Steph curry in the butt. That's an optical illusion." I literally guffawed in the office and now people are looking at me. I mean, there are so many E1P gems in this super saiyan celebration audit compilation. Seeing them all together though, really makes it clear how great the humor is. It is the delivery, of course, but its also Eric's synchronization of comments with the visual action on the screen. Here's to at least 16 more of these celebration audits this season. (Hopefully, one starring two-way Wigs and Riley both getting back into celebration shape.)
It was hilarious listening to SVG talk about how the Pelicans have a sneakily easy schedule down the stretch because all the playoff teams they're playing aren't going to be taking the games too seriously...
He is such an effing idiot. Listen to him for just a quarter and it's not difficult to understand why he's not coaching. It IS difficult to understand why he was ever a coach, though.
They're just not good when they don't have Jokic setting everybody up and scoring efficiently... almost like he's one of the most valuable players in the league or something... maybe they should give him an award.
Years ago (20+), I took my kids to a Warrior game. We were sitting in the cheapest seats in the house, way up high in the arena, by a group of kids that had apparently come with their class. They spent the whole game yelling, "Boo, chicken Nuggets! Boo, chicken Nuggets!" Mine are in their 30s now, and "Boo, chicken Nuggets!" is a part of our family lexicon...
Pelicans are playing like they are fighting for their lives while the Nuggets don't seem to care. I get that they don't have Jokic and are playing against the Suns tomorrow night in Phoenix, but sheesh. At least put some effort.
I don’t believe in most conspiracy theories, like that the Refs are trying to Get the warriors, etc… but it definitely feels like teams are changing their rest and tanking/trying to try to knock GSW out of #6
Well, not a believer in the basketball gods, but I do hope these teams get theirs for not competing in a sportsman-like manner. It's like when teams tank to try to pick their playoff opponent. A pox on all of their houses.
Wouldnt denver benefit by having us at #6 - that way they can only meet in the WCF? Or do you think they hope someone can knock them out in the play-in like last time
Double-edged sword. If they knock us into the play-in, and we survive, we could come into the playoffs as #8, where they would have to face us in the first round. So there's that.
OT: Dave Zirin "Edge of Sports" podcast first half of recent episode is "Why the NBA World Lost Its Joy" interesting listen with him chatting with Michael Lee of the Washington Post. They get into the Draymond thing and a lot more.
Pels are taking it to them. I don't mean to be a conspiracy theorist, but it does look like some of these teams are taking the opportunity to rest against the teams that are most in competition with the Warriors...
That's what the Dubs get for playing with their food. It should never have come to this. SMH...
I think this happens all the time but for the last few years Dubs fans didn’t follow what the various Western Conference teams were doing because they’d already secured one of the top seeds.
Agreed, thanks for sharing here. It's refreshing to get different persepectives on the same thing (ie Players vs Media vs Fans vs Management vs Coaches etc). That part of Bob thinking about hypothetically being in a bar and someone saying, "You had 12 years with Steph Curry and you only won 1 Championship?!" was awesome to appreciate how amazing this run is. As uncertain as this season has been/is, this offseason is going to be a doozy!
Yup. That's why I no longer like listening to 95.7. Everybody has forgotten about championship already. They bitch and complain to an extreme end after each loss.
And that's coming from an entitled fan like me who has only seen the good time.

With the Pels winning tonight, Lakers fall to the #9 seed while the Pels move to #8.

Do you think he's wrong about that? I'm trying not to be paranoid, but it does seem like the teams they're facing seem to be resting key guys...
Pelicans schedule:
4/1- vs. Clippers
4/4- vs. Kings
4/5- vs. Grizzlies
4/7- vs. Knicks
4/9- @ Timberwolves
4/9 could be interesting.
MIN & NOP have split their season series so far... whoever wins that game gets the H2H tie breaker advantage.
Denver,
may you have fish dumped on you from a great height.
Pelicans beat the Nuggets 107-88. Pelicans move to 39-38 while the Nuggets fall to 51-25.
Nuggets have missed 11 FTs and 23 threes tonight. They don't seem to be taking this game seriously.
They're just not good when they don't have Jokic setting everybody up and scoring efficiently... almost like he's one of the most valuable players in the league or something... maybe they should give him an award.
22-18 fouls; Pelicans-Nuggets
That's a lot of fouls being called in this game....
COME ON YOU NO-JOKIC NUGGS!! They sent you out here to die! Shock the world!
They may rest Jokic when the Dubs play them....
Put your tinfoil hat back on
no backbone in this team - no wonder no body fears the nuggets
boneless nuggets?

I'm choosing to believe a whole lot of teams fear the Warriors.
I'm pretty sure that if you took a poll, and the teams answered honestly, the only teams who want to face the Warriors in the playoffs are:
Memphis
KCP shot 48% threes before the ASB. His three point %age has gone down to 42.5%. MPJ is still shooting at 42.2% threes this season, however.
So what has he shot since the ASB to make it go down that much -- like mid-30s?
30%

Well... if you're at all talking about the Clippers sitting Kawhi, nobody told Westbrook or Covington...

Yes, if I were them I’d hope to knock us into the play-in.

Pelicans lead 50-40 against the Jokic-less Nuggets at halftime. Nuggets are taking and missing a bunch of threes tonight (3/19 threes).

We have to have one obligatory "Go Denver!", to root for them to beat the Pelicans.
And of course Jokic is sitting…
And refs are effing it up here too

I did not have Boston up 44 in Milwaukee v the full-strength Bucks on my bingo card.

Thanks for sharing. A lot of good stuff in there. Must listen for folks who think Dray is not worth much on any other team
Thank you for sharing this. It is brilliant.
If anyone hasn't heard it, I highly recommend. It's worth the effort.
