I would be for trading down too, but even if the Warriors end up with the #1 pick, that seems unlikely. Then again, I notice the Knicks have 2 first round picks, and if you can't fleece the Knicks, who can you fleece?

Certainly, you did a lot work on this and stirred up a lot of debate and thought for the fans. I do get the feeling that most of us are wrong about the outcome and our 'insights' into the players are severely limited. I have never guessed correctly who the Warriors will take in a draft, ever. You can chalk it up to my ignorance or the endless possibilities that exist in any given draft. Doesn't matter to me, I haven't a clue what the Warriors are thinking and with no clear consensus of 'the best picks' in the top 5, it is even cloudier.

After some re-thinking about the prospects, I do feel that Ball stands out as a top pick. This guy's talents are off the charts. Curry's D when he was drafted, was also subpar but has improved. No reason that Ball's can't. Because everyone thinks of Curry as the gold standard here, no one will duplicate this, especially the scoring talent that Curry has. He is an exceptional package that I was on the fence about, early in his career. TO's, lack of D, volume shooter, were my complaints. But his overall game cannot be dismissed. I see Ball with a pretty good basic package that is far above most. I could see him as the future PG, but will the Warriors feel this is the direction to go in? Also, can the influence of the father be left behind? I look at his bro and how he has developed since he left the Lakers. Impressive. Lamelo at 6/7" is a freak athlete and passer. Him running the 2nd unit gets my vote. He can score, pass, rebound, and lead this team into the future. IMO, this is the only #1 pick sure shot star in the making. There are other talented players, but not on his level, I believe.

Seriously a big thanks. I think this not only made the down time and draft more exciting, but it also made the next season more exciting as now I know who all these guys are and had to think about them!

My draft dream would be The Warriors walking away with Haliburton and Tyrell Terry. Which would probably make them draft trade maestros (a great side benefit.)

Thank you for doing this! It was fun!

I would be interested in knowing the hate/neutral/love quotient (or a poll) for these guys. For instance: I’d be disgusted with Wiseman or Ball in the top 5 but pretty neutral if we ended up with some of the more proven all round players who I voted against.

thx for the fun diversion from reality I appreciate your work in compiling all the reports and the reasoned analysis/defense of their preferences from the LGW community

There's generally a premium to move up around the top few draft picks. 76ers gave up a highly valuable future lottery pick to the Celtics to go from 3 to 1 to get Fultz. The Mavericks traded a future pick that was pretty certain to be a lottery pick to go from 5 to 3 and get Luka.

I do think there's going to be a chance to move down if we get a top 2, maybe 3 pick. There's going to be some team who doesn't want to pick between Halliburton, Vassell, Hayes, Okoro or Avdija. They're going to want Ball, Edwards, Okongwu or Wiseman.

But it's just not likely you get that future lottery pick. It's not going to be the premium package, but that's ok.

Great series Eric! I didn’t take part in the surveys because, like Dubby, I don’t watch much college hoops. However, following along and reading/watching all the scouting reports, videos and comments here, I learned a bunch and came away with the following LGW consensus opinion.,,

Assuming the Warriors actually pick someone who is intended to be part of the team (and not someone they’re picking to trade), and assuming they’re able to get that player at the approximate right value (in other words, successfully trade down as appropriate), then LGW prefers that player be one of the following:

- Onyeka Okongwu

- Tyrese Haliburton

- Devin Vassell

- Saddiq Bey

Does that sound about right? (Those are the four players I see as the best fit and immediate contributors.)

Let's Go! Haliburton would do great this system, running the second unit or playing small with Steph and Klay on the floor.

As most Warriors Fans are, I am personally in favor of trading not necessarily out of the draft, but down to the 6-12 range in hopes of scooping up the guy we want (for me Hali) and some assortment of future picks.

Great job and congratulations on a great series Apricot! Can't wait to read your next articles.

This is one of the greatest GSW series of all times, Apricot! Thank you for giving Dub Nation something to chew over during these wild times, and leading back us to basketball's restart. I personally am not a huge draft guy, so this series helped me to learn more about the potential candidates AND how Dub Nation feels about them.

You're a national treasure Apricot, and I'm proud to call you my friend and fellow Warrior fan. Let's hear it for Apricot Da GOAT!
