With help finally coming, Warriors find a win
Golden State knocks off the Clippers, three games left until Draymond Green returns
There was a listless vibe surrounding the Golden State Warriors lately, but with the news of Draymond Green (and James Wiseman’s) imminent return, the Warriors seem to have found their old joie de vivre in tonight’s stomping of the Los Angeles Clippers.
Jordan Poole was phenomenal and looked as aggressive as we’ve seen in a while.
But it’s also important to note that the youth movement doesn’t just stop with Poole. Both Jonathan Kuminga and Moses Moody played well, building off those minutes that they earned while the team was ultra short handed. This is the bridge to the future plan that many — myself included — scoffed at as a viable strategy.
But the early returns are beyond promising. The rookies aren’t just managing to cover minutes, they’re legitimately playing winning basketball! I’m never going to hear the end of this from Daniel.
As always, we’ll have the full details for you tomorrow, but check out this play by the tandem of Kuminga and Moody. The game was slipping into dangerously close territory before those two cut the defense apart for this play:
The video cuts off there, but afterwards, the Clippers threw away their last meaningful possession of the game while trying to get a pass over and through the combined defense of Kuminga and Moody.
Great game. Great win. With plenty more to come, and Green hoping to return in less than a week.
Well, the Kings made it competitive, but the Nuggets managed to muster enough energy to close out the game with a win in the end. Nuggets beat the Kings 106-100 with four of the Nuggets starters playing 30-35 minutes each.
It's a close game in Sacramento now. I think fatigue is starting to get to the Nuggets; each of the starters have played 20-27 minutes, and the Nuggets shooting went down from 55% to 50%.
