I watched dray's response to the Wiggins vaxx questions and was a little disappointed tbh. I get the whole "personal decision" angle but all these guys seem to be missing the fact that ITS NOT ABOUT THEM. They were never the ones at risk of dying, being vaccinated is about protecting the vulnerable in our community and all this "its personal" BS completely ignores that. It feels like it ultimately comes down to if you view this as birth control ( a purely personal decision) or wearing a seat belt (a decision that effects everyone around you) . Science says it's the latter but these comments make me feel like they don't get it, I'm a little disappointed tbh.

Um, can somebody explain why Steph is wearing what looks to be a sports bra during practice today?

Enough with the starting lineup *sarcasm*. I wanna know about the closing lineup.

Curry Poole Iggy JTA Green? Not enough shooters though. But the ball movement and transition buckets would be crazy good.

Curry Lee JTA Green Looney

Start the season with as much Kerr system experience as you can.

I’m assuming Wiggins plays in the second unit due to vax delay (I’m guessing he’ll come around but late) and Kerr wanting to keep consistent starters home and away (good thought already mentioned here).

Poole will be better than Lee but Poole should come in for Steph. That makes Wiggins, OPJ and Iguodala subbing for the wings. Possibly moving JTA to the four…

Wiseman will see consistent minutes later in the quarter/half.

Bjelly - no idea. An embarrassment of riches.

The rookies will have to earn their minutes and will play only garbage time in the first week or two.

Dray's in camp today so I can eat my conspiracy theories, haha. MT2 has a video of him shooting https://twitter.com/ThompsonScribe/status/1443671287595864084

It looks like he is getting more upright with his release but his waist is still bent so to my eye it looks almost like he's leaning back. Hey, I'll take it if it means he's hitting more open 3s. Let's go Draymond!

For those with questions about what restrictions are in place there is a FAQ https://www.sfdph.org/dph/alerts/coronavirus-faq.asp which also includes a link to the order. My understanding, and it is supported by the language in the FAQ, is that the vaccination restriction only applies for large events of greater than 1,000 people, so games, not practices etc. Quoting this below since the question keeps coming up:

"20. Do I have to be fully vaccinated to attend a large or mega indoor gathering such as a Warriors basketball game or a concert at the Chase Center? Do children under 12 need to be tested before entering these events?

Yes.

Beginning August 20, 2021, patrons age 12 and up must show proof of vaccination to enter large or mega indoor gatherings such as the Chase Center for a basketball game or concert. Based on current health conditions, these facilities must not allow unvaccinated people 12 and over to enter indoor areas regardless of the reason they are unvaccinated, except for the limited purposes provided under the health order. Due to the nature of many indoor events (such as a live concert), facilities may not be able to offer unvaccinated patrons safe and feasible options that facilitate live access to services consistent with the health order requirements.

Children under 12 may attend these events but under State rules are required to show proof of a negative COVID-19 test before entering an indoor event of 1,000 or more people. See further information on California's testing requirements at these events. There is also a narrow, time-limited exception for events where any tickets or reservations were sold before August 12, 2021 and that occur before September 15. Events that are covered by that exemption must still comply with the requirements for proof of vaccination or negative testing that currently apply to mega-events."

PG: Steph is getting up there in age so this might be a good time for him to move into a new role coming off the bench. We could use a little more size at the PG position and JTA's been shooting the ball well so he can probably start there.

SG: I know he's not cleared for full scrimmages yet, but with the way Klay's been shooting the lights out in practices, I think it would do wonders for his mentality to get the start right from the get-go. We don't need to ask him to do too much on defense, but he can just stand in the corner on offense and swish threes whenever a defensive breakdown leaves him open.

SF: Wiggins should get the start here for the road games. In fact, since he won't need to save any energy for home games we should make sure he gets as many minutes as he can and plays the full 48 for every road game.

PF: Draymond goes best with Steph, so let's have him come off the bench at the same time and instead throw Kuminga into the fire by putting him in the starting lineup. Alongside deadeye shooters like JTA, Wiggins, and hobbled-Klay ("burnt toast Thompson??") we won't need to worry about his suspect shot and instead he can focus on breaking down the defense with cuts and transition opportunities while defending bigger opposing ball handlers like Lebron.

C: Looney is the only true center on the roster so we have to start him here, but he can sub out partway through the corner when we bring in Dray and the others.

Then our 2nd Q lineup can be more small-ball focused with Draymond, Steph, Lee, and Poole alongside Wiggins.

😛

I still can't believe we went from almost getting 7th seed to being the 9th seed last year. At least it netted us Moses. I feel like we had a good chance to win (or at least make the finals) last year after seeing how everything played out though.

Curry, Poole, JTA, Dray, Bjelly will be our best unit starting the season (without Wiggins or Klay).

Curry/Bjelly (and to an extent Poole) provide the spacing/scoring punch while JTA/Dray (and to an extent Cury) will give that unit defensive backbone. I admit this is a hot take, but I just love Bjelly's fit next to Draymond!!

On the subject of OPJ, I thought it was interesting how he talked about how the Chicago training staff had him bulk up and it seemed like there was an undertone that his injury issues might be related to that. He talked about being at a more natural playing weight right now with respect to playing faster and while he didn't come out and badmouth Chicago directly it seemed to be there, reading between the lines.

In summary; hopefully now that he's at what is a more natural weight the injury issues of the past few years will be behind him.

My simplified prediction: JTA replaces Wiggins in the starting lineup and keeps the job the way Draymond took David Lee’s job.
