OT After a relatively close Nuggets - Magic game, there are 3 blowouts in the works with leads 23, 24 & 29 at the moment.

Half a billion is pocket change to a venture capitalist. I'm sure Joe has it all figured out and is chuckling as we lose it over the price tag. LOL

StopnPop read my mind - Half a billion is insane!! That surely can’t be an acceptable option for ownership, particularly with no fans in the stands to balance the sheet.

I was absolutely a fan or running it back too, but not at that cost. Good luck Bob. In Bob we Trust!

Also love the Dr Strange comparison. Such a baller Marvel character (awful pun I know...)

Run It Back With the main guys. Keep Oubre, keep Wiggs, develop some young guys (Nico, Smiley, Poole) replace Mulder and Wanamaker with young draftees and JJ. Make a decision on Lee and EP and Chriss. But don’t blow up the guys at the top. Wiseman in a few years should he stay healthy will be a force.

Really enjoyed the video... if there's one NBA thing I don't like thinking about it's roster spots, contracts, cap/tax, etc. so I'm glad I can listen to smarter people talking about it

I thought maybe there was chance we spend $$$ to keep Oubre but nearly half a billion dollars seems a little extreme (even if it's not my money)... almost guaranteed that one of Wiggins/Oubre will not be on the team it seems.

Oubre and a 1st round for Brogdon from the Pacers? Does Indy do that (is a sign/trade feasible - I don't know the rules)? As much as I enjoy Oubre, not knowing if he'll sign with the W's or walk away is just too big of a gamble. And Brogdon brings more consistent scoring and ball handling.

That's a pretty good article by Patrick Murray.

I don’t suppose there have been any rumblings for Paschall to be traded? I love the guy, but I don’t really want him on the roster

The case to do nothing at the deadline is that the Warriors can expect to be significantly better next season with just the return of Thompson and Chriss. In addition, it is reasonable to expect Wiseman to improve substantially with another 30 games, potentially playoff experience, as well as summer league and a real training camp. Finally, there is a 50% chance the Warriors have the 4th or 5th pick, about a 90% chance they will have a pick somewhere in the 12-20 range. D. Lee and Bazemore are solid bench guys, Paschall should be better if 100% healthy, and Poole, Mannion ad JTA all look like net positives as bench players. They ought to be able to find some inexpensive upgrades for Wanamaker, Smailagic and Mulder (assuming 2 of those spots aren't filled in the draft). And of course the 3rd might be filled by the ultimate irrational good feeling guy, Justinian Jessup.

The obvious thing to root for is Otto Porter to not get moved and bought out after Thursday. Even if he's the third most exciting Porter Jr in the NBA, he'd be a valuable piece this year and a possible MLE fit next year. Plus there's likely minimal luxury tax implications.

A second and the DPE for Bjelica is another easy win if we're just talking improvements this year. Cut Brad and Smiley (or heartlessly Chriss) and pick up two players who can shoot 3's and rebound, plus cost minimal amounts in talent to bring in.

Then, there's Oubre. I would still 100% do Oubre for Ball. But I haven't seen anything else that intriguing. The Pacers are not in a playoff position so Turner for Oubre + would be nice, but I haven't heard any rumor involving him.

There isn't that much pressure. If they aren't going to spend the money, they need to see if they can turn Oubre into a draft pick and an expiring contract for somebody they don't want to re-sign. If they are willing to spend $450m, they just sign him in the off season. None of the names mentioned are going to save them any money or make them a significantly better team, and they would all require tossing in draft picks, at least with Oubre, since his contract is expiring and the trading partner can't be sure that he will sign a new contract.
