Dang guys I wanted are falling like flies... Christian Wood, Montrezl, Bertans, Favors, Joe Harris, Alec Burks... With Klay down not as interested in the non-shooters anymore (Derrick Jones, Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, Michael Carter-Williams). Who do we even want now besides Justin Holiday? I guess KCP? Still interested in Nerlens/Millsap if they come cheap... but man, where is our shooting gonna come from? 😢
Alright over 20 mil for Galinari. Yeah I've reached the point in the evening where I'm ok if the Warriors stand pat. That Kelly Oubre deal seems like better and better value as the night goes on.
This like the stock market about a month after the first Covid lockdown. Makes absolutely zero sense! At this point Kriss Dunn getting the full MLE from someone.
Ok looks like we are in a holding pattern. No article tonight unless something major happens. We will have a new thread for us all to mock people that fell for fake Woj tweets in the morning
Always interesting to hear someone like friend of the Forum Ethan Sherwood Strauss state that the dynasty is over because the Warriors have 'three of the worst contracts'? Worst for whom? Maybe Lacob but you are paying 3 solid starters exorbitant money but it still doesn't take away from the fact that any team would want any of these 3 players even at a price point approaching 20 mil a year.
Assuming we are getting 80 percent of Thompson next year and one more year of experience for Wiggins under this system , you are talking about a team that will always be in contention. Heck If everything breaks badly this year, you've got two more top end draft picks to add to the roster (and that Minny 2nd). That's Curry, Klay, Wiggins, Draymond, Wiseman, and 3 bonafide draft picks . You are still looking at Top 10 talent at each position regardless of contract price point.
Solid work here. I like the fit. Question for the impatient rosterbators among us: what does everyone think about Holiday for the DPE? Figure he's the kind of guy we could potentially resign next year using non-Bird rights.
I think, of the available guards, Kris Dunn is probably the best in a vacuum. He's still got some room to grow, but he's already very good on defense -- a bunch of metrics put him in the top 5 range of guard defenders even. Plus, since Klay's going to be coming off a ACL/Achilles next season, we might slide him down to the 3, which could mean that Dunn, if he plays well. He's a natural PG but his wingspan is the same as Klays. We probably can use part of our DPE to get him, especially since we can promise him good minutes on a contender. Most advanced metrics like him a lot as a player over last season (though theyre prone to noise, and they weren't as )
That being said, we really need more shooting and Dunn isn't there offensively. He really can't space the floor (was abominable from 3 last yr) despite alright Ft%. We don't have anyone who is really a threat from 3 except for Steph and possibly Mulder if he balls out, so I'd assume shooting should be our #1 priority.
Think the Justinian Jessup pick might be a sleeper pick which could pan out w.r.t shooting though -- he definitely shot the rock well in college so I could see him manifesting into something of a Duncan Robinson lite if all goes well in the NBL this season.
If Klay never got hurt, that smallball unit of Curry-Klay-Wiggins-Oubre-Green sounds pretty decent. I guess if Oubre balls out, maybe Lacob continues pulling out that checkbook and utilizes those Bird Rights next year?
Mannion and either Mulder or Anderson get the 2 way contracts, leaving 2 open rosters spots. We need a backup point guard and another wing but priority for the DPE is likely a reliable point who can defend.
Avery Bradley or maybe Langston Galloway. DPE doesn't involve a cap hit, so relatively cheap.
That leaves the MLE or veteran's minimum to bring back one of these player or 2 if the Warriors chose to release Bowman, Mulder or Anderson:
What type of player is Kelly Oubre Jr. and how can he help Warriors?
Can we please get a free Tucker campaign going?
How do people feel about our backup point guard being Quinn Cook?
Really digging the comments tonight!
Justin Holiday to the Pacers for 3 years/18 million. Good for him, and imo a good deal for the Pacers.

Oh no Dwight Howard tweets that he's returning to the Lakers, then deletes it as Shams says there's no deal

Here's what Suns fans had to say about Oubre: https://www.reddit.com/r/suns/comments/jxnc5z/warriors_fan_here_wanted_to_ask_about_kelly_oubre/

Just going to be dropping free agent news here until something Warriors-specific happens.
Dragic re-signs with Heat on a short deal

Free agent Goran Dragic has agreed to a two-year, $37.4M deal to re-sign with the Miami Heat
Man, Oubre at 6'7" and grabs 6.2 reb per36.
