WELCOME TO THE LESTER QUINONES ERA
Quick thoughts from around the social media world about Quinones coming back to GSW on a two-way
The Golden State Warriors continue to round out their roster for their upcoming revenge tour, with their most recent signing being guard Lester Quinones.
Word on the street is: “His performance in Las Vegas comes on the heels of a stellar season in the G League. In 31 games with the Santa Cruz Warriors, the 22-year-old averaged 20.2 points, 6.2 rebounds and 4.0 assists, earning G League Most Improved Player honors. He was runner-up to the Grizzlies' Kenneth Lofton Jr., in the G League Rookie of the Year voting.”
Our guy Eric Apricot had this to say about Quinones’ performance in summer league:
Lester Quinones
In his first three games showed a steady assurance that was outstanding. He steadied the team, drove to the basket well, made good passes.
Then the last few games his shot got a little out of alignment, and he also made more mistakes and out-of-control plays. He did show another gear to be able to grind out points and possessions when the team could not get going. (Let’s ignore Game 5.)
He might still make the big roster, but I would guess GSW is as likely to keep him on a two-way for another year.
They can use him like Ty Jerome, as an occasional backup point guard to soak up some minutes when Steph / CP3 / Cory are rested for games.
I’ve heard a few folks compare him to Jordan Poole-lite? Thoughts?
WELCOME TO THE LESTER QUINONES ERA
According to the projected roster, Warriors have 8 guards, 4 SF, 2 PF, 0 Centers and only 1 player taller than 6'9. This is representative of a small college team. Please tell me they're not planning on entering the season without a Center, let alone no player over 6'10
Are we there yet?
