Warriors trounce TWolves 123-111...led by James Wiseman's 25 points?
Dubs mostly cruise, let it get uncomfortably close, but handle business
The Golden State Warriors knew coming in that the Minnesota Timberwolves were going to add a ton of extra attention on Stephen Curry after he single-handedly put an end to their comeback in the last game. But in the end, Strength In Number prevailed, and Golden State cruised to a fairly easy victory.
The Dubs will rest up quickly, and then be in Phoenix tomorrow evening for their first look at Chris Paul’s Phoenix suns.
Curry was hounded for the first half (well… and the second as well) - his only make prior to halftime was a weird little push shot off a busted play. But the cool thing about these back-to-back games against the same opponent is that it allows for those extra little playoff adjustments.
The Warriors had five players in double figures:
Curry: 16 points, 6 rebounds, 8 assists in 33 minutes
Oubre: 20 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists
Wiggins: 19 points, 3 rebounds
Damion Lee: 17 points off the bench
Wiseman: 25 points, 6 rebounds.
We’ll be back tomorrow with additional coverage, and remember, the Warriors are right back in action tomorrow night against the Suns, who will likely be playing without Devin Booker.
But above all, this double whammy bodes well for the Warriors’ draft fortunes!
Let’s go!
No love for DLee in the comments? 17 points last night, 4/5 from 3. With the balanced scoring, Steph was only the 5th top scorer on the team.
Jessup: 19pts, 8/13 FG, 3/4 3P, 3 REB, 1 AST, 1 BLK
